  • NO WAY!! HE'S FROM MALAYSIA!!?? 0_O IM FROM MALAYSIA TOO!! IM 14 AND I WANNA PLAY THIS SONG SO BADLY!! D: DAMN!! i gonna play this song and beat this kid! :D im gonna try hard.. :)

  • I'm jealous of you:((I can't play this piece T_T

  • good job!

  • Really not bad for the age. Few sour notes, little sluggish rythum, and flat passion expression need improvement when he gets older. Otherwise, he will be another grandmaster.

  • check out Alice Sara Ott she has one of the best ever recorded, get the one practicing backstage before performance

  • i dont get why this song is apparently so hard for everyone. im 15 and i learned it in like a month. im not saying i dont like i dont like the song but there are much more harder songs out there

  • @slayer2343 stfu you liar you didnt learn it at all and you called an etude a 'song' its difficult because of leaps you dont kno anything about piano

  • @slayer2343 how about u put a vid of u playing it.

  • @slayer2343 post it on here :)) will you please

i'm also 15 learning this and am having someproblems with the fingerings.

heard that my hand is too small for this piece,

but i shall give it a try anyway.

  • @slayer2343 Even the easiest of pieces, Fur Elise for example, its that you have to play it properly, not just know the notes, you have to understand the concept of the piece and the meaning of the music and show it to the audience, hence, only Beethoven music has the real emotion in it.

  • @slayer2343 such as?

  • @slayer2343 Your video, please.

  • @slayer2343 i am gonna go out on a limb and say you're full of shit.

  • @slayer2343 Learning the notes isnt the hard part... It's the musicality involved with it

  • @slayer2343 no body argued the converse.

  • @slayer2343 If you really did, you are gifted, I'll try to get you and learn it in a month, I'll have a go and I'm also 15 and I WILL definitely upload my vid, so I can prove it :) U should too, I can't guarantee how long it will take because I find this beatiful piece pretty hard and I like so much!!

    And boy good Job!

  • @slayer2343 So people dont have to look for his comment. "i dont get why this song is apparently so hard for everyone. im 15 and i learned it in like a month. im not saying i dont like i dont like the song but there are much more harder songs out there" Yeah I think we all are in Aww to this comment...Oh wait he hasn't posted a video that is such a big surprise omg I couldn't imagine he wouldn't post a video.

  • i like this version, you play it very well ^^

  • He's feeling the music, which is good. I like his pauses in the beginning. Give him a few more years to train his ear to recognize and improve his musicality. He did a great job, anyway.

  • if you dont think this song is technically challenging its obvious you have never played it, he plays a little too slow for my taste but at least he got the notes, and i actually like Valentina Lisitsa's version more than Yundi's because i like it a little faster

  • saaayaa anak malaysia !! yeargh !!

    5/5 !

  • He sure paid a lot for that, but honestly he plays like some kind of mechnical, I wonder if he could play like Cziffra/Kissin/Yundi in the future.

  • I don't like this piece at all..where is the music? Why spend your time with a mechanical (AND BORING!) study when there is a mine of beautiful, musical etudes, composed with artistic intention.. this piece would'n move me at all even when perfectly played, at least I can say BRAVO for the weeks spent to the piano. But,since music is ART,I need to say "bravo" for what you transmit;I think virtuosism is an old mith created by those who didn't really know what art of sounds is.. who agree with me?

  • You cannot hear the music? You cannot hear the melody line? You cannot hear how the jumps are really the harmony?

  • The art of music is in purity of sound and deliciousness of composition and performance as whole.

At this point I must absolutely disagree, this composition is for my ear very delicious, of course, you need technique, BUT technique isn't about fast-moving fingers, technique is in your BRAIN, if you feel the music, and hear it with ears, brain will let fingers move on waves of music.

  • -->No matter how hard is this composition, you can't assess it from view "it's hard, it's only about technique, it's boring run of fingers"

  • @JLorz84

    not me!

  • yeah i agree that this guy's is a little mechanical, but he's 14. check yundi li's. it's very emotional.

  • @hcpiano1 if u liked yundi li's then you'll love valentina lisitsa's she's amazing!

  • This piece is very fun and exciting to play (or even attempt to play) sooo, don't knock it until you try it.

  • its paganini, what do you expect?

and by the way, this is a great muscialy piece! its a kiond of joke by liszt...

  • @JLorz84

    because he likes it?

dude...try to play it..seriously - it IS HARD AND GOOD

  • That's what she said.

  • Good attempt. But you need A LOT more practice!

  • Good work, i have faith in you.

  • its 2 slow the original is faster :P but good job

  • You ever heard Liszt play, then?

  • I keep on getting the wrong sheet music for this song can i get your copy??

  • Try searching on iPaper?

  • With no intent to say that you are not a good pianist.. la campanella is a piece that is only reachable by three persons in the world.. Evgeny Kissin, Domingues António and Lizst... but keep the good job!

  • You mean LISZT, lol, get the composer right : )

    And check Cziffra's performance.

    Kissin plays so mechanical...

  • Right Cziffra, the best ;-)

  • Cziffra plays it too fast, I like some of his performances, but his Campanella is too fast, without emotion :(

  • i agree but there's a famous saying which says:

Even a fool knows we can't reach the stars, but that doesn't stop a wise man from trying...

  • It's a very difficult piece, but to say only three out of near 7 billion human can play it? That's a bit narrow-minded way of thinking, no?

  • might play more like 3 human this piece, but there are really just a few personnes who play it well.

  • and yundi li

  • wow!!!!............i cant do the thing on 0:46 and no one can do that except him!!!!

i can play that now im 12 yrs old my mom just dont want me to be putted here in youtube i dont why.............

  • And why couldn't you? just cover your face or only show your fingers and nobody will regognize! xD That's what some do in Asian countries...

  • eres un genio tio

  • very good, the practice make the master...

  • this song is easy for Franz Liszt to play cuz his hand can reach 2 octaves , but compare to ours .....

  • serious? 2 octaves!? no exagerating?

  • no he didn't

Rachmaninoff was able to reach 13th keys and he has the guiness record.

Liszt was only able to reach 10th or 11th keys.

  • Isn't 10 keys pretty normal? I can reach 10 but I think my hand is normal size.

  • Actually, Liszt's reach was C to F1

  • -_-

  • Is good but please speed up abit more And show abit more piano emotion let the music flow show it out with some movements dun just like robot playing

  • put some emotion in the music, and increase your confident

  • yea, you could get more emotion; I mean come on!!! You are playing one of the best pieces of music ever!!!!

  • This song u played too slow . You have great skill and talent . I can hear that you are lack of emotions and confident /and please smile while u are playing ^^ You had a bright future ahead

  • The song is too slow .You had hard great skill and talent , you are lack of emotion and confident cause when u are playing this song u are not smiling . Good luck for your future

  • 14!!? I am 14 and I wanna play this song. *-* I guess I'll go and try it now on my -upright- piano...

  • Hello Malaysian! I'm so proud of you(being Malaysian and being able to play this so well I mean)! Any more current videos of your piano-playing? I'm sure you're loads better now :):) Selamat berjaya! Wish you all the best with your playing.

  • It seems that your hands is bigger than mine, which enables you to conquer some difficult parts.how I wish I had bigger hands.......however,I think you should practise more to play faster and more clearly.

  • compliments, i don t hid u that i m 17 and i ve started 2 days ago to study it

not easy, you are 14 u can well be better when your hands will be bigger, kisses and 5 stars (if i could)

  • Hello, look for my little nephew Alex playing the piano: "alex piano (01)" and vote it!! Thank you!

  • much too slow

  • This should go faster but very good for your age. If you keep playing and practeising you'll get the right fast tempo...Ok not fast like presto but faster then you play :)

    god luck

  • good for your age!! You,ll play it faster when your hand becomes big!!

  • Omg, are u donovan from SU? The donovan from 5 Gamma?

  • you must play it a litte faster.

    but you are good

  • Woaw! Best gile! Tapi patut main lagi cepat lol. Still Cool tho!

  • I love Campanella, but I can't play now that song..5* for you:)

  • OMG! WOW! a 14 year old? Unbelievable.

  • what's wrong with his mouth lol

  • good but please play a little more faster 'coz i suppose it will sound better

  • Not bad. I'm not one to normally be picky about the tempo, but that was a bit too slow for La Campanella. I performed it last year and, although it's very difficult, it does have to be played quite a bit faster in order to sound as exiting and beautiful as it can potentially be.

  • Yo Don thanks for inspiring me to become a better pianist. Without a friend like you, showing me before my eyes your skills I would have never developed the passion for music I currently have. Your music skills are still top game but remember while you got the skills I have the expression! =P

  • pretty good =]..i'm 14 and i can't play that yet..how long have you been playing?

  • Well done!

  • Pretty good!

  • The speed up in performers like yundi li is because this was written in the romatntic era which means interpretation is okay!!!! Fast seems to be conventional in the last part though...

  • he must've worked very hard to get this far! very good. clean and articulate. although, i must say, i got bored after the first minute. very devoid of feeling and emotion. no fire. hats off to this young lad, but there is no passion at all.

  • hey i think i noe him! :D

  • Hey, I'm fourteen and currently practicing this piece. He did a really good job!!!!

  • one thing i don't quite understand is: *in comments: "Teacher:Margaret Lee Chuang Ean Leng" *but in video: "student of Mrs.LEE SWEE GUAN"

oh well.. other than that... good job =)..

  • Well done! You could speed up a little bit, but it's nice.

  • it seems he's at the limit of his current technique, that's why he's not playing faster... but I guess in a couple years he'll play that smoothly if he keeps playing like that^^

  • The written tempo is Allegretto, I think this is fine. While performances by Yundi Li and several other pianists are brilliantly fast, they are only playing to show off. This kid is very talented, and with a little bit of metronomic practice, he'll be able to whip this off like a professional.

  • It's called "Allegretto" for a reason, not "Presto as much as possible."
