Amen WNX Snakeskin! I like classic VH too, but the lyrics don't have a lot to say other than party. Sammy has that theme, but also deep thoughts imo. He has a good mix of both. This song was not written by Sammy, was written For Him - it is a tribute to Sammy and the vibe Sammy has & gives back. Those who have only hateful comments - please never attend a Sammy concert - Chickenfoot, Wabos or otherwise - only those who know how to have a good time & not be assholes are welcome.

Have you heard that Hagar classic "Soap on a Rope" that he wrote for Chickenfoot? It's nice to see Hagar geeting deeper lyrically as he gets older. Hagar was always a better tequila salesman and Jimmy Buffett impersonator than frontman/singer for Van Halen. Forming a new band with Satriani is the first good move Hagar has made since joining VH back in 85...god knows his solo career isn't relevant anymore!!

Hagar did write some good lyrics while he was in Van Halen, The Seventh Seal, Right Now, 5150, Mine All Mine. Hagar also wrote his share of turds while he was in VH as well, Spanked, Amsterdam, Up For Breakfast (cheesy ass lyrics haha) etc.

Roth's lyrics were more tongue in cheek and fit the band but only Hagar can write a song about sex (Up For Breakfast) and have it end up with lyrics about food! Fucking retarded!!

Great song! For those who don't know, Kenny Aaronson has been John Eddie's bass player for several years now. Sammy and Kenny toured together as part of HSAS back in the day.
