i got a slim and it got the ylod ... But when i hold the on button to turn it on for like 10 seconds it does that reset thing and works ... it works EVERY time i do that, and doesnt ever shut down on me, its just becoming a pain in the arse to do everytime i wanna play ps3 ... anyone got any ideas of what i could do to fix it?

no one will hack the ps3 due to the fact every new game has an firmware updater , every game you play seems to check the firmware and if it's changed it will request you update , also if you do not update you can't even play the games, I think Sony worked on that idea after their problems with the PSP .they also removed the the card slots on the later ps3's

So All Of My Trophies , Game Save etc Have Been Deleted

So Does Anyone Know If I Could Get Any Of My Stuff Back.

there is a red light of death bro i have had it. its were the ps3 doesn't respond at all and just sits there with the red light on. i had to send it in and sony said they had never seen it before. this was when i had the old 20gb they had to send my a 80gb because they quit making the 20 and 60 models by then

Bullshit. Red light is for when the PS3 is in standby. Sony maybe a bunch of circle jerking idiots but they would never make the standby light and a fatal error message use the same colour light.

the red light will flash.

if at any time the ps3 light goes green/yellow/green FLASHING RED, u gt an error, and not just any error, a RedRingOfDeath like error, which means u gotta send it off to Sony.

So, yep, the red light means standyby, but a FLASHING one means an error.
