They are all good drivers from their regions and the track was new to everyone. We didnt get much practice that day(less than 3 runs before qualifying) so it was a harsh test for every one. I am sure with more seat time, most of us including myself will perform much better!
Drifting professionally in the US is generally tough because of the lack of seat time and practice venues. But IMO Formula D is now better than D1 in terms of publicity and advertisement(good for sponsors), you would see many D1 drivers competing in FD now.
IMHO D1 is better than formula d... D1 kept with their roots and are still using the s13, ae86, and rx7...
formula d is using scion tc, corvette, and rx-8... and formula d is more judged by smoke and crowd reaction than any thing.... d1 is all based on tecnique and skill
Thanks guys. I was running on corded tires in the last run so it was not perfect and a bit embarassing. But afterall I got my Formula D license qualifying 7th in the Nationals! stay tuned for more action in Formula D 2010:)
I am Frank... I watched your vids... they are AWESOME.... those turns are wicked.... i am definitely up for some drifting lessons after watching these videos... : P
Hey Charles congrats!!!!! You are quite the driver! Haven't seen you around the track much lately, where are you living now? My s13 with a fully built KA-T is almost ready for ProAM next season, hopefully we will get to do some tandem action!! You might be in FD by then, but if you are still doing any ProAM stuff hopefully we can drive together. Take care dude.
Hey Jared, its been like forever!! I live in LA now and I just received my FD license for 2010 at the nationals last weekend..:) Do you still work at Jim Russell? I may be up there in Dec doing their shootout program for 2010. I hope to see you and drift with you in the near future!!

yea, what was that miata doing half the time?

He's a great competitor and my buddy. A miata is tough to drift in an oval, he did great in other runs!
