  • Cross-firing is NOT the same as being disunited. Through the years people have incorrectly used this terminology so much that hardly anyone really knows how to use it correctly. Cross-firing is when the legs interfere with each other, left hind to right front, right hind to left front.

  • @chexmygold Thanks for this comment! I'll put a not in the description referencing this fact.

  • Super helpful!

  • This is fantastic ! I've been feeling when my horse has been crossfiring and this is pretty much what i thought was happening with two legs going at the same side. I'd never actually seen it tho, only felt it, so i wasn't sure i was right. great to have it confirmed so i can say if a hoss has been discounted without worrying about getting it wrong and looking like an idiot xD thank you

  • Wow! Absolutely superb video explanation, and I agree with the earlier commenter that the red and white colored socks really do the trick in helping to highlight the 3-beat gait of the canter. I've cantered, and I love it, you feel as though you are gliding. John Karavitis

  • Excellent video explanation!

  • Thanks for the video GREAT! My horse does this to the right and I am working with a trainer to see why and how we can get him on his correct right lead. I did not understand what my trainer was saying but your video helped make sense of it!

  • Great video - the red and white leg wraps really helped me to see the differences. Thank you!
