Les deux voitures sont modifiées, sauf que la fiat est un moteur turbo, donc plus de couple... la M3 est à +- 300ch avec modif boite et reprog, la fiat a un turbo plus gros qu'a l'origine, une ligne d'echapement, une gestion optimisée bref +- 300ch ... la fiat a un couple plus bas et plus eleve ... 2 voitures tres differentes un resultat proche

Of course it's an M3, 3.0 not 321bhp 3.2litre of course. There are so many people that don't understand that torque is more important for mid-range than bhp. Turbo cars produce more torque than N/A even if the bhp is lower. And this Fiat is aslo lighter.

I have a 290bhp Volvo 850 T5 that spanks the arse off 321 bhp M3's in the mid-range but that's becuase I have at least 60NM more torque from my re-mapped turbo engine.

With my 3.2 M3 I raced many cars with around 220hp and destroyed them all. I have to admit there are lots of 328/325 with M3s bodykits and wheels. Many people think they have barely beat or keep up with an M3 and there were 328s with a sporty exaust. In Argentina BMW sold the 328 Clubsport that came from factory looking exactly as an M3, but with 193hp. I´ve seen many of those with the M3 badge.

This Fiat is modified and probably has around 280hp. Is much lighter than an M3 so that explains the results. For those telling that a Fiat Coupe with 220hp is faster than an E36 M3 are crazy. May be its close to the 3.0. I have a 1996 3.2 E36 stock . The other day I raced a chiped 2002 S3 from 50km/h in second gear. When I shifted to 3rd his nose was about a meter from my tail. When I shifted to 4th he was about 5 cars lenth behind. From 50 to 190 I took about 6-7 car lenths.

nobody noticed that the coupe is a limited edition one , with a better gearbox and it`s a 6 speed , only thing better at the bmw is the rwd , one more piston and bigger engine overall 2.0-3.0 , but that helps on higher speeds , the coupe as it is fwd it still can go 300-310 km/h , i have a friend with a chipped one , 290 km/h , 20vt plus , anyway who cares ? races r not about who can go the most is who can go faster so go coupe , bmw aint got shit in fiat ;)

that's why the cartuning world is falling back on turbo's nowadays. They are way too hard to defeat especially with acceleration at certain speeds like between 50 mph to about 100 mph. turbo kickin in full torque available througout a massive rpm range. So it isn't that strange you could beat a luxury brand like BMW with any turbo driven engine with some power to back it up

But A Chipped Coupe To 250 BHP, Would quite easily mess the BMW around...

and of course 300+ bhp for the coupe the bmw wouldnt stand a chance. so for these cars to be quite close and then the coupe pulling away, the coop has to be chipped.
