Yeah, by where the blood was coming from in the chest cavity, that looks like a heart shot. Which, is a great shot. The deer was just going on adrenaline. Doubtful he was in much pain. Sometimes you can hit them perfect, and they'll still run 100 yards just on adrenaline alone. Good video. I hunt with 12g 1oz slugs, and they do some pretty intense damage, and I've shot many deer and never seen anything like that before. Then again, 75% of the ones I've hit with the shotgun drop in their tracks.

Great shot man. I'm 17 and been huntin since I was 4. Just picked up bow huntin from my paw about four years ago and I've made double lung shots that haven't compared to that. Great heart shot.

@tombuckley91 I've hunted deer for 15+ years and can say that shot was a fantastic shot. The deer was shot through the heart and died within seconds of being shot. The only way to put it down faster would be to shoot the deer in the head or spine and those are not high percentage shots.

@djEvilDude Actually prolly wasn't a heart shot, but an aorta or pulmonary artery. Gouting blood makes me think the heard was still pumping, but the artery the blood was to go to was gone.

Inferior & superior vena cavae come together at right atrium > right ventricle > pulmonary artery (low pressure system) > lungs > pulm veins (very low pressure) > left atrium > left ventricle > aorta (high pressure system) > body.

Shot obliterating arch of aorta > gouts of high pressure blood.
