@MasterOnionKnight14 The battle is really easy if you have the whole party. Just have Lucas and Kumatora use DefUp Omega and OffDown Alpha a lot, and the boss should do 1 damage to you with most of his attacks. :P

If you're not leveled high enough to know these, then you're not ready to fight the boss yet.

@MasterOnionKnight14 At that point in the game, I was level 40 with all characters. It was still decently challenging, gain a few levels. All I can say is, the area before him is an excellent spot for level grinding. A bunch of enemies one screen down, and a hot spring. Kill all the enemies, heal at the hot spring, repeat. You'll gain levels at a pretty steady pace.

Easiest way to beat this boss in 3 steps.

1: Bring a few food items (Mostly PP up ones)

2: Use a lot of defence ups and attack ups on Lucas only

3: Punch Away!

Congratulations, you have beaten the boss. He only does 1 point of damage to Lucas now.

The saddest Irony was even though he was in two different games..

That's pretty much the only thing that sets it apart from most RPGs, actually. If that were taken out, the combat system would be like any other RPG. The first Mother game actually didn't have it, and it seems like you haven't played it, then.

Also, like arthrarneiro said, the fact that you could combo to the beat of the music was pretty cool. It's not necessary, you can do without it, but it's so satisfying to get all 16 combos in a row and deal good damage because of it.

You also probably didn't listen to the story at all (Mother 3's). And if you did listen to Mother 3's story and still say that the series is awful, there's no way around it, you ARE heartless.

Graphics don't matter unless they interfere with gameplay, many agree that the gameplay is excellent, and I'm having good suspicions that you're basing the series off of what you saw on videos, because the whole skipping the weaker enemies so you don't have to waste that much time was rather convenient (More so in Earthbound; you'd automatically get the EXP when you ran into them. 3 you just run through them. Still convenient, though).

@Sophisticles in japan, yes, and if you know where to look it could be called "overrate" on the internet. but in north america in general, violent american's didnt like the good message of it and the leack of explosions and real weapons, as well as critisized it for having "bad graphics". it became underrate due to its release being near the end of the SNES era, where its graphics would be considered too simple and low budget. pity it was reasons as trivial as this that lead to its downfall.
