I got to see it live at the fox theater in saint louis. It was soooooooooo amazing!

The actors were wonderful and the music was played by a live band and the special effects were unbelievably real looking.

When this film came out, my dad purchased the movie standees from a garage sale. There was three, and we had them in our storage room for years and we put them out every Halloween. It was a tradition.

Though, what creeped me out was fester's eyes -- they were sunken in to the standee, so they'd follow you when you walked.

Anyway, I *love* the soundtrack to this film. I remember seeing it in theatres and lovin' every bit of this movie.

@jg1988: First created as a New Yorker comic, America's freaky family jumped off the page & onto the screen, first via the 1960's sitcom, then as a 1970's cartoon using the comic style, followed by the 1991 & 1992 films that darkened things, then the 1992-1993 cartoon that tried to incorporate both the feel of the films & the former incarnations, followed by the panned 1997 "Reunion" film that inspired a sitcom revamp for 1998-1999 called 'The New Addams Family'.

@Dagrecco1982 because the deck the halls in the movie, they didn't use a recording. that is just the choir group singing directly to the camera. it wasn't pre-recorded...so they had to go back and make a recording to include on the soundtrack.
