  • In the UK there are many "road kills" (rabbits, foxes, badgers, pheasants etc.) which attract crows (and magpies). Crows know the significance of white lines and seem able to judge the speed of vehicles so they walk to the "safe" side of the white line until the road is again clear, then get back to feeding on the dead animal.

  • i seen a crow drop some kind of nut on a busy street and waited for a car to hit it and once the stop light turned on it flew down and ate it =/

  • @AlyssaFgt I saw things like this too. Crows are just awesome.

  • Of course there smart those things eat human souls!!! lol

  • Is there a reason why ~*teh majestuc wulf*~ is still seen to be the pinnacle of animal intelligence by wolfaboos, and yet crows and virtually every other bird...and every other animal, really...goes completely ignored?

  • Crows are probably the most intelligent animals on earth.

It's not that they can just learn (like apes or parrots do) they can invent!

I've seen a british crow on TV (it's name was Betty) wich can solve problems that needs 3 steps to be solved: take the thin (and short) bamboo-stick to get a longer longer one (wich is long enough, but too thick to solve the problem) and with ths longer stick the crow could get the final (long and thin) stick to unlock the door to the food.

    UNBELIEVABLE!

  • dont forget about the parrots!

  • This is so depressing. We evolved from apes, but if we had evolved from crows, not only would we be even smarter, but we'd also have wings. Cheers evolution, thanks a bloody lot ¬_¬

  • @QullVideo we don't evolve from apes. it's just that we have common ancestors =] (and then we evolve to become the present day homo sapiens n apes)

  • Jack Dumbacher? LOL 1:00

  • I once saw 2 crows chasing a HUGE eagle sized bird

  • Chimps(land), Dolphins(sea), Crows(air). If they team up and rise against us...we're screwed

  • @ohmmhs Yeah, I don't see them creating any advanced tools......I'm not worried.....

  • Not surprising at all, Crows are smart fuckers. When i lived in Tokyo you could see them dropping nuts in the road for cars to run over, then waiting for the fucking crossing to go green to go eat them!!!

  • how often do u see a crow thats been a road kill? ive never seen one. but fuck me theres alot of dumb animals out there but crows arent one of them. they r smart enough to live for 200 yrs

  • The crows in Japan will laugh at you when you stumble or fall.

  • Science in Action...... if you know what i mean.

    mr.bean pervlook on 9gag!

  • BIRDS are the biggest DINOSAUR GROUP to survive the asteroid 65 million years ago. they are very intelligent - except pigeons which are just the lowest form of stupidity on legs.

  • @JOJOBANANAZ1 HAHA I second the pigeons stupidity! But yeah it's actually true, birds are even more closely related to dinosaurs than crocodiles, snakes or lizards!

  • @JOJOBANANAZ1 Pigeons are actually quite intelligent, in their own way. Most of their intellect lies in their ability to remember tiny details. If you ask me, (which you didn't) the lowest form of stupidity on legs is -insert school bullies/ex-girlfriend/current political figure/rodents here-

  • One purposely tried to poop on me literally it was THINKING and timed it JUST right but i saw it coming. It looks rly odd like a group of them on a tree and a branch was straight over the trail. They all started making noise when they saw me as i got close they went dead quiet and one walked in the middle exactly above where i would walk and i saw his tail lift up i acted like i was going to walk through and he pooped right in front of me! they all started making these weird noises like laughing

  • 0:10 The look on the crow's face; BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT??????

    hahahaha

  • i shoot crows all the time

  • @fishrcoolturtles2 all the time?

  • @AuraStudios Yeah I hate those things they are everywhere they have no damn natural predators and eat all my plants hawks don't eat them all the time.

  • @fishrcoolturtles2 Fucking people everywhere. Pissing and shitting. If only humans looked at themselves with such disrespect. Have you ever thought that your living where their great great grandparents lived in a tree that was chopped down for a place for you to live. People who have no respect for anything else other than themselves makes me puke. Ever thought of putting food out for them then maybe they wont dig your precious plants don't reply I dont give a damn.

  • @fishrcoolturtles2 oh i see. I don't garden and crows dont mess with my stuff, so i happen to really like crows.

  • @fishrcoolturtles2 The more you hate and persecute them the more intelligent they will become. Strike them down and they will rise more powerful that you can possibly imagine.

  • I'm in that part of YouTube again..

  • @Kgrey13 Must you...?

  • Anyone else get a little freaked out when they saw a flock of crows after this video....I was getting paranoid next time I saw they, kept thinking they were watching me LOL

  • @qwersdxqwersdx And guess who just saw Hitchcock´s " The Birds" this afternoon...?

  • @qwersdxqwersdx they do watch you. only because they're scared of you though.

  • Maybe we should ask the crows how to fix the economy.

  • U dont show NOTHING... ¬¬ CROW FAIL

  • jack dumbass

  • The animal apocalypse is coming!

  • im gonna make my blackwing deck again

    i love these guys

  • Birds are from dinosaurs , so not surprising because they have a 65 million year headstart on evolution.....

  • @flowidit Actually birds evolved around 150 million years ago, they coexisted with dinosaurs for quite some time, but you are wrong about another thing, we have a much bigger headstart, because mammals already evolved in the triassic!

  • @ptango666 Birds through Archaeopteryx, mammals with Cynodonts :)

  • DUMBacher?

  • the next time i see a crow in the part and watch its behavior to so what its thinking?

im going to fuck this park up by emptying all the bins. fuck you humans!

  • this video is beautifully edited too.

  • Planet of the Crows :D

  • I live in Australia and we have crows everywhere, ask anyone from Australia if crows are smart and they will all say yes. Amazing birds

  • @fpvshitsonhsv Yeah, they find so many ways on how to get into the garbage bins as well. Too bad they don't have the decency to clean up after themselves. Hehe.

  • Alfred Hitchcock's THE BIRDS

  • AYAYAYAYAYAYA, FOOLISH HUMAN.

  • I love crows.

  • 12 people don't own a pet crow. har har har

  • I for one admire the incredible complexity of all creatures of intelligent design

  • @MrShaun42088

*cough cough* Herp Derp intelligent design

  • @Silent33091 um...excuse you?

  • @MrShaun42088 ´but your stupidity just shows theres no intelligent design

  • @crazy3d your stupid statement proves your ignorance.

  • dumb"acher? LMFAO

  • planet of the... crows?

  • crows are incredibly smart. i see it all the time. i live up north and i will throw them food but they will act like nothing is going on if another bird flies ahead. then as soon as it leaves he keeps munching. they also need someone else to rip the carcass up for them so they have been known to lead other animals to food so they can wait til they are finished and eat the remainders.

  • Well LETS ACTUALLY SEE THIS IN ACTION !!!!!

  • crows are gay

  • @t3kn0l0v3r you are really asking for it.... No you are!!!!

  • @t3kn0l0v3r like you :-)

  • @t3kn0l0v3r why even bother to come to this page 'subject crows' and bother to type out a comment stating something very stupid? you probably had to even go the extra step and enter the security code after your comment. what a hassel to show what a pathetic low level gay game boylover you are! >:P

  • i had one chose my as its master no joke so i kept it and it was smart but i wasnt aloud to keep it after a month *((parents belive crows are bad demons) so i let it go but it stayd in my back yard

    for awhile then left

  • crows are badass

  • @chargerfish1 This is why I like crows and hate condors and ravens.

  • The craziest thing I ever saw was when some testers gave a crow a wire hook, except they forgot to bend the wire into a hook, which the crow needed in order to get a tray of food out of a big tube.

So the crow took the wire, and BENT THE END INTO A HOOK, and snagged the food up.

    Craziness.

  • @Goatmon Send me the link to that vid!

  • @MarBelieves2 look up "crow makes tools"

  • @Goatmon Thanks

  • @Goatmon I just watched and I have to say, completely genius!

  • @Goatmon yeah I saw something once where the crow had to choose the correct shaped piece of wire to open a cage to get a reward, she worked out which one to use but then one of the other crows came and stole it. Instead of giving up she took one of the other (incorrect wires) bent it straight and then rebent it into the correct shape and thus got her reward. This left me gobsmacked and these birds have my utmost respect.

  • i ws watching tv one time about birds and they say that some birds get into university lol when i first hear that i was like that's mess up some people can even get into university

  • Crows are extremely smart, they just have gotten a bad rap for being black and making nests at KFC

  • To quote Ripley, "You don't see them fucking each other over for a goddamn percentage."

  • Crows and pigs are definately a lot smarter than dogs. They are just being misunderstood.

    I personally like crows.

  • Corvids are so cool. I want a Raven.

  • I really love his voice, Dr Jack DUMBacher! :)

  • so your telling me crows are mechanics ?

  • Awww! THE CROWS WERE DOIN PPL STUFFZ :P

  • Search "Joshua Klein the intelligence of crows" in Youtube for a bit more insight into their intelligence...

  • @IBIGWORDSI Will do

  • rise of the planet of the crows.. coming soon to your planet!

  • The crows at our barn are 3 ft tall and a ft wide. They kinda freak me out.

  • @97equestrianlover

Those sound like ravens, which look a lot like crows of gargantuan size.

  • @Erectoralporicy Oh cool, they are sooo big :p

  • @97equestrianlover

/am jealous. I love corvids. I would love having one as friend,

  • Look my brother told me he caught the magpies keeping a lookout while one " does the bins ".

  • I, for one, welcome our crow overlords.

  • @MowgliX Unoriginal Bastard, get out of your house please...

  • Ohh impudent Americans! Crows are scaverngers, you fat bafoons! Jk

  • Rise of the Planet of Crows

  • Can I actually see the experiment?

  • omg crow using tools...they going to take over the world

  • I love that the crow in the picture at 0:11 (as they are introducing them as an intelligent animal to add to the list) has such a derpy expresion. Think they could have go a better pic!

  • Anyone who's watched some crows for awhile knows they are smart.

Well there are some dumb ones out there too.

  • 0:50 "scientist FELT that..."

  • Comment removed

  • ppfft, im smarter

  • crows will one day have M16s, raid supermarkets, pubs, etc... no point in setting up road blocks or arresting them on suspicion... no fingerprints... to many alibis.... " oh he never left the tree all day"

  • The crows are probably gonna be the ones taking over planet earth when humans leave the cradle behind ;-)

  • @larsedvartl That might very well be - when the dinosaurs died out, birds actually ruled earth for a short while. The biggest specie were Gastornix, "grounded" meat eater and big as a full grown man. There´s no reason to believe it won´t happen again...

  • Crows are not only intelligent, they also have unique personalities. haha :D

  • or smarted than ppl lol

  • They also recognize people's faces.

  • The saying "bird-brain" should be taken as a compliment rather than an insult :D

  • @MrDjace1984 I caught a crow in a cage I built, I let it go, I tried to catch more crows, the crow warned the others of the danger!!!

  • Well I, for one, welcome our crow overlords.

  • @M0US3P0T4TO well done at being unoriginal you cretin.

  • Crows - World domination!

  • Rise of Planet of the Crows.

  • All hail the supreme crow overlords!

  • crows need the intelligence for what?

  • @DerStutenKerl to more accurately poo on our heads. jk amazing creatures. check out crow takes care of kitten. that a freaky trip.

  • I love it the guys last name is Dumbacher, the irony

  • Ravens and parrots are extremely intelligent too.

  • @irllcd13 im pretty sure a raven is a larger crow

  • I've seen a crow take a walnut, put it under the tire of a parked car, then get a piece of sharp metal and slash the tire so it deflated and crushed the nut, then it got a hooked branch from a tree, fished the keys out of the car through a crack in the window, used the keys to open the trunk, got the jack out of the trunk, and jacked up the car so it could retrieve the nut and eat it.

  • @kozmon0t for anyone who doesn't believe a crow can use a car to crush a nut and use a pedestrian crossing to get the food safely you should YouTube "Wild crows inhabiting the city use it to their advantage" ;D

  • @sang3Eta who said I didn't believe that? I'm just one-upping it.

  • @sang3Eta Hooded crows in my area drop mussels onto the ground to crack the shell. They all do it, but I'd like to believe it's learned through intuition as well as example.

  • @kozmon0t lol

  • crows are very intelligent..especially on how they are going to break a pecan nuts..amazing

  • Crows are smartest birds on planet! Ancient vikings did now that!

  • not just crows, same type of experiments done with ravens and they are able to do the same if not better. Crows and Ravens are the most intelligent birds in the world

  • Uchiha Itachi approves

  • @crashpal he isnt a crow he is a raven :/

  • I knew someone who had a ton of crows watch them eat a sandwich at the same location multiple times. They all swooped down and attacked him after a couple weeks.

  • @Visionsoftomorrow so let me get this. Animal X can solve problems, therefore paganism is right? lol

  • Does anyone else find it ironic that the guy talking about crow intelligence is named DUMBacher :P

  • @ThreeTwoOneBoom yes, I noticed that too PERFECT!

  • @ThreeTwoOneBoom I was about 2 say same. Even though vocal attributes do not qualify them 4 Opera, I have observed them long & hard (4 decades) since I like 2 go 2 the woods. Amazingly, they can do team work with other species. For example, if they c a sick deer that the wolves can hunt easily, they will tell the wolves where the deer is located. The wolves take the deer down & then the crows go 4 the scraps (which are plenty). Our definition of animal intelligence is relative to our own.

  • We have a saying in Mitakuye Oyasin: "All My Relations or We are All Related."

All life is sacred and unique. We are all related.

  • wish i had a crow to do my homework :)

  • Can't we all get along??? Just watch the damn video and appreciate it's beauty. It kind of opens my eyes and makes me think about how much more there is to learn about our earth and the creatures in it. I've always said it, the more I learn the more I realize how little I know. "As knowledge increases, wonder deepens." - Charles Morgan.

  • i watched a crow fly into my window...thats not very smart.

  • @Smokie181 i dont know how crows see with their eyes, but if you were an animal and didn't know anything about windows (because it's an animal), i'd bet you would do the same at least a couple times. AND it was flying.

  • @Smokie181 I watched a grown man walk into some glass patio doors that were closed. That's not very smart either.

  • @Smokie181 You know, maybe the crow needed contacts. If you are a crow you just can't walk into a store and say Kraa-kraa I want to buy contacts. The store manager will ask: Where is your credit card?

  • @serpo71 so then you know you used the word communist wrong. Good for you! You are on your way to having a mildly educated response. Don't give up, you can do it!

  • crows and ravens are some of the most intelligent birds. the ravens in my town (crows dont live that far north) come in to the town in the winter to eat our garbage (easier than hunting in the snow) an on the cold days, -40 or -50 celcius, they spread their wings over the light sensors on the streetlights to turn them on and warm up. clever...

  • So it`s not that bad being called a birdbrain.....

  • Beware of the planet of the fowls lol

  • why the hell is this vid so provocative?

  • CROWS ARE SOCIAL BIRDS. The ones that did it first, will tell the other crows how it's done. They also have memory which can last up to two years, and will remember a person that caused them harm(like throwing a rock at it's nest or something) and they'll even tell other crows to watch out for that person, which somehow all the crows will then recognize that person.

It's CRAZY, such an awesome species.

  • @WrecklessRecluse You are right, the man with the mask from Canada, smart byrds.

  • IF THEY ARE SO SMART WELL THEY ARE PUSSIES AGAINST A SCARECROW LOL

  • @vLeggy

then they figure it out in a day and nest in them out of spite.

  • 0:19 for a split second I thought that crow was hitting a bong XD

  • @who2really1cares39

lol yes these intelligent birds have learned to use tools to optimize there weed ;D AND get munchies

  • I also heard that crows will put nuts right in front of the wheels of cars when the light turns red, so that when it turns green, the cars run over the nuts so that the crows can then them.

  • @Cetaceans4life they go so far as to drop them on crosswalks and then wait till the light turns red to eat the crushed nuts without fear of getting hit

  • @Cetaceans4life When i left my bush bomb in with the bows they ate the spark plugs, all the wires and rubber in the engine bay, the head lights, bumper bar, and even popped one of the tires.

  • @Twiztidninjas cows*

  • @Cetaceans4life

"heard"? sweety, you can watch it on youtube. its truly amazing.

    watch?v=BGPGknpq3e0

  • @Cetaceans4life

I actually saw this happen when walking home, i stopped and even though i knew it happens, i was fucking amazed, unfortunately it flew away after having the nut crushed, guess it didn't like me watching.

  • @Cetaceans4life Once I saw a crow pick up a nut in a meadow, fly high and drop it on the concrete, and not on the grass: they learned that the concrete is hard and so they can break nutshells. Amazing creatures.

  • @78kokka what's even more amazing is that in many cities they've learned that they can drop it by a cross over, and then the cars will crack the nut, and then when the lights hit red they walk out and get their food :D :O

  • @Cetaceans4life Not only do they put them in front of wheels, you'll see them flying high over the street and drop the nut to see if it will crack, if not they know a car might get it after

  • @Cetaceans4life sounds cool...I only saw them using car wheels as nut crackers 2 times

  • @Cetaceans4life watch?v=1P8Nwl7FAJk

  • crows are probably thinking to kick me in the face everytime i take a walk in the park.

  • If crows are so smart, why do they live in igloos?

  • Comment removed

  • I'm here because of Little Kuriboh.

  • I can already see crows being used for special ops.

  • Only 2 creatures on earth make wars. Humans and ants. My money is on the ants.

  • I think African Grey are smarter :D

  • @fairfresh Same level of intelligence, but used for different things
