Back when I was a kid, some 35 years ago, I used to ride my bike all over town and my skateboard, and the cops would laugh, joke and talk to us kids or just be friendly, man times have changed. The way I see it, Jacobzladder showed everything but the important parts. Who knows if you were riding your bike or not. This is your word against his and vice versa. Ultimately, however....there are a million ways to stand up for yourself and your rights (and the rights of others) without acting disruptive, ill mannered, rude and boisterous which is only giving YOU the bad name, not the cop.
If you want to challenge tickets like this that is fine it is your constitutional right, but word of caution stick to the facts about the ticket and not the copwatch. Anyone who has been to court will tell you that the Judge may not care if you got the ticket because you are with copwatch. All he/she cares about is determining if you did or didnt commit the infraction. Statements like why are you selectively enforcing this violation may be used as an admission of guilt against you.

Sure it is about revenue. "Ticket" is an offer of contract. The "court' is a corporation. If you don't believe me, check it out yourself.
The guy in the video did not commit a crime as there is no injury, damage nor breach of contract.
But he is not particularly bright because he does not know what he is doing, he talking about "the law" when in fact the revenue officer is enforcing statutes and acts (that have force of law if you consent to them).

The way I see it, Jacobzladder showed everything but the important parts. Who knows if you were riding your bike or not. This is your word against his and vice versa. Ultimately, however....there are a million ways to stand up for yourself and your rights (and the rights of others) without acting disruptive, ill mannered, rude and boisterous which is only giving YOU the bad name, not the cop.

If you want to challenge tickets like this that is fine it is your constitutional right, but word of caution stick to the facts about the ticket and not the copwatch. Anyone who has been to court will tell you that the Judge may not care if you got the ticket because you are with copwatch. All he/she cares about is determining if you did or didnt commit the infraction. Statements like why are you selectively enforcing this violation may be used as an admission of guilt against you.

absolutly under for no reason never ever sign the ticket, signing is not a admition of guilt but it is an acceptance of a bill of exchange. when you add your signature to the ticket you just said, "yes this ticket has a value" and you have agreed to the offer the officer is making to you. if a officer tells you that its a must you do so then also add next to your signature that you are signing under protest and duress. research commerce and find your freedoms

The paper you sign is a promise to appear. Let me briefly explain what that means.... You see, when an officer stops you for a violation of a traffic law, you are under arrest. Being that you are under arrest, you must be taken before a magistrate without unnecessary delay. Therefore, should you refuse to sign the promise to appear, it is the officer's duty to place you in custody and take you before the magistrate. So sign the ticket or go to jail, it's a free country... You decide.
