I remember this old clock music and watching at home, I actually liked it. I enjoy the far more common version in use now, but I enjoyed the variety of the clock music they used here.

For some reason, the way Richard says "ladies and gentle-men" at 4:47 reminds me of Jimmy Savile.

Wow, this theme tune has certainly stood the test of time! As for the clock music, it's a bit err dodgy! Surely it distracted the contestants. But one thing I do like about the clock music is that if you listen closely towards the end, the ticking increases and builds up and I like that.

HATE the clock music and I thought it was on earlier in the 1990's

Hmmm, the music just sounds really random, I would have thought they'd altered the da-da-da-dell-da, boom, as it sounds quite out of place. It really musn't have lasted very long, if it ain't broke why fix it eh?

I remember how annoying this music was - was so glad when the QF's (or was it even earlier?) that they reinstated the current music.

Looking back, even Richard looks hacked off with it after hearing it for the first time. :P
