@Brian86992DH 't think it sucks , it's 2011 , and I built myself a Core 2 Quad Q9550 , Xfx 790i Mobo , 8gb corsair vengeace blue ram , and a 9800 gx2 , I have upgraded to a GTX 295 x2 , but It still played mdern games ;)
@Donseipo the Q6600 is still a great quad core processor overclocked, im running a gtx 460 on mine and its fuckin great, i get great framerates in gta 4 max settings, can play metro 2033 round 30 fps on high settings and dx11 tessellation enabled ;)
Nice rig. But why do you have what looks like the 1000watt PSU on the floor or bottom of the computer? That doesn't make sense. That sucker is hot, it needs all the air it can get. I am not saying that your system doesn't have enough...perhaps maybe too much - its gotta be noisey...with all those fans...but you could probably do with less if you had the PSU mounted off the floor.
Well all Antec 900's and 1200's have floor mounted PSU's for stability and cable management properties. Also the heat of it shouldn't change because the 80mm exhaust fan is mounded on the side, not top or bottom. And keep in mind that heat rises so any heat down there should exit through my 2 120mm rear exhaust fans and 200mm top exhaust fan, thus the power supply being even cooler.
if u wana overclock a q6600 u dont use the stock cooler there shit u gota use a good fan like a antec or thermaltake cuz the q6600 gets hot when u overclock to to 3.2ghz+ and u need a nice cooler to get thats temp down even watercooling
Not too sure about the wet dust filters hope they were properly dried before putting them back on or the fans will suck all the moisture into the case. Pretty nice setup though.
Would the EVGA 750i FTW work with a Q6600 processor and a 260 gtx graphics card. Also could you overclock the cpu to 3.2ghz One last thing :D is an 850 watt power supply enough to run two 260 gtx's in sli.
Ahh thanks anyway dude, I think your right though but I already have the game so why not! It's actually a good game just silly to run and it did stop being a FPS (First person shooter) and more of a FPS (Frames per second) And its one of the main reasons why im building the computer lol.Anyway, nice system have fun with it :D
I have just ordered the antec 1200 for my new sli setup that I intend to oc , after seeing your vid I'm in no doubt i picked the right case. Fantastic cooling, blows out more hot air than a hundred pissed Microsoft execs, lol
Just ordered an antec 1200 case to put my new sli rig in, after seeing that vid, I'm in no doubt i chose well. Superb Gaming Case , well worth the money.
I don't have water cooling, but newegg is good for just about EVERYTHING so check there. I am overclocked from 2.4 to 3.2 and with the stock heatsink I am at about 45C. With the Q6600 most people like to stay under 50C
Hey Brian is the 9800GX2 still a really good card or should i go with a GTX 260 or maybe a 9800GTX+ cause i heard it preforms exactly like a 8800GT in games that don't support sli.
well i would probably say the 9800gx2 because it often preforms almost as well as the 280, you can find it for less than $300. i would go ahead and not buy the 9800gtx just to future proof yourself.
yes its great, in fact there are pre-drilled holes in the rear for your tubing to exit if you look closely at 3:40 under the rear cold cathode you can see them. there is plenty of space for the pump, rad ect.
thanks. :-) im building my own gaming rig for the first time. is there anything in particular you would recomend to put in it thats worked well for you? reply plz. :-P
I remember I had a hard time finding a place to put the 2 cold cathodes so they are effective, but hidden so you might want to think about multiple 4" cold cathodes if you are getting lights. Also, if you want to run the 8 pin behind the mobo you will need an extension. Make sure you buy 2 extra 120mm fans because the 1200 does not come with the side or HD cage fan.
Also, if you want to save money, don't get an expensive HD (10,000RPM)(velociraptor or something), the ONLY thing they do is decrease load time by about 3 sec.
Suggestion taken. And for you, I suggest you watch the video at 3:43, for the reason that the 8 pin is not behind the mobo is fully explained. But thanks for taking interest!
:P Watched it again, think you miss understood me =] Can understand why you cant put it through the cable management holes, as it's to short, what i ment was behind the mobo and infront of the mobo 'backplate' - it may fit, may not...
Could always drill your own hole right next to the psu, giving you that extra 1/2 and inch or buy an extension lead =]
good computer for 2008, now it basicly sux ass

Great cable work.
You should wait a little longer for those filters to fully dry out before putting them back in though. Disaster can happen.

Cheers for the filter cleaning instructins. I've had mine 5 months and am just getting around to doing that.

Yes everything is compatible, and you should be able to get that Q6600 to 3.2, but it will be easier if you buy an aftermarket heatsink.

angela4271 3 years ago
brother if thats your score at 3.4 ghz and 2 9800gx2 i feel bad for ya i have 1 9800gtx quad 6600@ 3.4 and score of 15000
angela4271 3 years ago
I only have 1 9800GX2 and I don't think that 3DMark06 does justice to SLI anyways, but nice score

what windows are using ??
