  • Hello! I am hoping someone here reads and speaks English? I would very much like to know what sort of flute the featured gentleman is playing (the woodwind insrtument) are those Balalaikas that I see occasionally, and is this considered Serbian folk music? My thanks to anyone who knows and would respond. Thank you.

  • @Srbija575 It looks like a romanian kaval,and sounds like one,idk.I think it's a serbian kaval.

  • @numarul65 Thank you numarul65

  • @numarul65 His name is Tedosii Spasov from Bulgaria - It's called a kaval and is used in Bulgaria, Macedonia, Aegean Macedonia and Serbia... it's also seen in Turkey and parts of middle east.

  • @BjonkoChalgija kaval (Turkish pronunciation: [kaˈvaɫ]) is a chromatic end-blown flute traditionally played throughout Azerbaijan, Turkey, Hungary, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, southern Serbia (кавал), northern Greece (καβάλι or τζαμάρα), Romania (caval), and Armenia (Բլուլ or blul). The kaval is primarily associated with mountain shepherds throughout the Balkans and Anatolia. ;)
