ldont worry lits a comun lifters song in the GM family when engine is cold it goes a way once its warm nothing to worry about i have a 98 s10 2.2L with 250000 miles on dash and still runs like new anbealibly good gas mileage no oil burn very very reliable engine ,only problem used to be the gear box has the clutch pomp inside the box ,very expencive to replece so i replece the box for an old tipe one with the clutch pomp outside the box a towing vercion and now d car kicks.

my s10 is a 94 with a 2.2 but when it idles and up to 20 mph its has a small pinging noise, once its been running for a couple minutes its gone all together. its got 160000 miles and has been well mantained, is it the classic chevy knock? any help would be appreciated. next year i will be going to school for engine rebuilding i just want it to hold out till then. thanks

@JeepCherokeeKid It's nothing to worry about, it's just a little lifter rattle you have, all chevy trucks do it when they're cold. After they warm up the noise goes away. I have a 5.3 in my 01 silverado and my truck does it too. My father has a 4.3 in his 96 silverado it does it too, our hole families old silverado trucks do it etc. Yes its the classic chevy noise, but not a rod knock

I did. It didn't blow. Had a ford taurus that runs fine today, 99 drove it without oil for 10 miles, parked, put 1 quart in it because thats all I could get at the gas station considering they were out. So yeah and I had an F150 same deal except I punctured the oil pan, and it drained!

yep! he had to get rid of it becuse it kept geting worse and it had so much blowby that it was blowing the blowby tube off. it still ran great. it had 3 cylinders got 45 MPG and a engine knock. poor old car was a cocroach, indestructable.
