The whole story of, oh God made hell for Satan and his angels.... Like okay... Stop there. So God is okay torturing his creation? How selfish can this guy be to act like making a torture chamber for angels, but not for us is somehow justified and okay? Beyond that, if God didn't want to send us to hell he wouldn't, its that simple. I like how Christians act like we, accidently, get sent there and God is completely :O, without any idea of how we got to hell lol.
@thatamazinggeek That could explain a lot. If god were literally a giant ass, it would explain why the universe appears to have come from a Big Bang (God as an ass would only be able to create it by lighting a fart), and why He just wants to shit all over everything. Maybe then, Satan is the dick (with some balls) that can finally fuck that asshole.
I wonder if the caller believes his god is everywhere (as many christians claim), and, if so, how he squares that with the claim that his god cannot be in the presence of sin, never mind that an all-powerful being wouldn't have such a limitation.
my favorite quote: "i'm going to create man & woman with original sin. then i'm going to impregnate a woman with myself as her child so that i can be born. once alive i will kill myself as a sacrifice to myself to save you from the sin I ORIGINALLY CONDEMNED YOU TOO."
Not was Abraham willing to do exactly what Yahweh commanded, according to a Midrash (Jewish commentary), after Yahweh told him, "just kidding," Abraham begged Yahweh to allow him to, at the very least, to cut Issac enough to draw blood just to show Yahweh how devoted he, Abraham, was to Yahweh. Any decently moral person would have told Yahweh to go fuck himself.
@perfectshot77 Don't tell him what to do! He'll listen to Ace of Base and Puddle of Mudd if he wants to and he'll think its fucking awesome! Know how I know you're gay? Oh right, you like Coldplay. Fag.
@perfectshot77 It should be kinda obvious to you that insulting is getting you nowhere, but ever since all you had to say about my opinion was "lalala, my opinion is better than yours, lalalala" I consider this discussion to be over.
@perfectshot77 first off, never insult a discussional partner, it only backfires, and I considered leaving this discussion just because of it.
Secondly, what you did is chaining the fact of our existance with being created by a higher being, and label it "evidence for the existing of a god". Trust me, this is not evidence by any means, and it does not prove the existance of a god or even suggest it.
@perfectshot77 a) there is no evidence, just stories. No matter how many people claim the bible to be "holy" or "from god", that doesnt make it evident that it is an accurate representation in the slightest.
b) I`m amazed you have turned that "suggests a god might exist" into "god is real" for yourself. Critical skepticism on your beliefs would be key here.
No, matt does not "believe there is not a god", he simply does NOT believe that there IS a god. These are two different things.
The statement "there is a god" is the original claim, anyone who makes this claim is the one with the burden of proof. People don't believe in god because there is an utter lack of evidence, not because they're making an assertion.
What you've done here is called "shifting the burden of proof" and would get you laughed out of any real debate, sorry.
@perfectshot77 In order to answer that I need to give you some definitions:
Theist: one with a belief in a god(s)
Atheist: one without belief in a god(s)
Gnostic: possessing knowledge of or believing that ultimate knowledge is possible
Agnostic: without knowledge or of the belief that knowledge on a subject is unobtainable.
From this we can see that anyone who does not have a belief in a god(s) is an atheist. This includes the subset of gnostic and agnostic which is the position on proof.
@perfectshot77 I'm sorry for being so argumentative, but we do not agree on everything. What I originally had an issue with was not your belief in a creator, but that you said "their very well might be or there might not be, who know's and why speculate in any firm (belief) direction". I despise this assertion that because we don't know, we shouldn't bother debating or attempting to learn more. Pursuit of truth is something to be valued. If I misinterpreted your original comment, I apologize.
@perfectshot77 I don't say with absolute certainty that there is no creator, and neither does Matt. He said we can't know anything with absolute certainty, but his conviction that there is no God is basically knowledge for him. There is no evidence for the existence of God nor is there any unexplained phenomenon in nature that necessitates his existence. So while I suppose God might exist, there is no reason other than pure faith to believe. Also beliefs are opinions, that's how we can disagree.
@perfectshot77 That is exactly the viewpoint that I cannot stand. Believe in God or not, but at least have the courage to stand by your convictions. Don't simply state that we can't know for sure so it's useless to speculate; some people, like Matt and me, simply have a desire for truth and understanding of our universe. If you are of the type that declares that all we have are opinions and we should just accept each others', as I suspect you are, then I'm sorry but debate is not for you.
Jdg 16:30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.
But from the time Samson was born until his death he was to not drink wine, cut his hair, or touch a dead carcass
He chose to do all these things that God told him not to do
before Samson was born God told his mom that he would deliever isreal from Philistines
Jdg 13:5 For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
I believe we will not believe in God or want anything to do with him unless he first chooses to make himself known to us.
Only His Elect "chosen" will truly believe
Joh 6:64-65 But there are some of you who do not believe." (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.) And he said, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father."
The person could choose from any three of the choices but could only choose one answer
a
b
c
the "d" was given as an example that a 4th option could exist and be withheld and the person could still have a choice that was left to him to choose.
Now by knowing what the person will choose and conviencing them what they should choose is predestination but the person still has the power make the choice a, b, or c
D. we can only estimate and do not know the real number
So I with held a "D" choice just Like God doesn't give man the option to fly or walk on water like he can. You see He has true Free will and we only have freedom to choose what he allows
and He allows there to be a wrong choice but he doesn't force you to make that wrong choice
@EmbraceDorkhood I were to force you to answer the question would look like this Q. how many fish are in the sea? A. Millions Now you have only one choice Now take this one step further I could have given you a "D." option but I didn't give you a "D" option so your choices are limited to what I allowed but you still get to make a choice and the choice you make is your responsability not mine You are free to choose from A, B, or C and I with held D you don't have free will
@EmbraceDorkhood God doesn't force you to lie He gives you the choice to lie and if you choose to lie you choose wrong God knowing what you will choose and allowing it is not the same as forcing you to make the wrong choice let me give an example Q. how many fish are in the see a. hundreds b. thousands c. millions you can choose any answer you wish I believe I know what you would choose much like God actually does know what you will choose
your free will is limited and not at all as free as it could be or as free as God's free will
just like your defentions says you are free to make choices
but those choices are limited
You fail to see yopur own evil and you accuse God of being evil because you make the wrong choices and you are angry because he will not give you total free will when you cannot even make the right choice on simple things like telling a lie
I don't fail to see my own evil... as a matter of fact, I know my own evils and wrongdoings. But I don't pray to God and whatnot; I apologize and ask forgiveness from the people I have wronged.
The reasons he thinks your God is evil is found in the Bible.
if you have told a lie you have sinned against God
have you apologized to him and asked him to forgive you and guide you away from sinning against him?
The last time you lusted after someone did you go apologize for desiring to use their body for your own personal gratifaction without even carring about who that person really was on the "inside"?
I but you didn't and all you cared about was your own gratifacation while you were masterbating
Ah. Here we go... so now you're gonna tell me masturbating is wrong and I should be sent to Hell for it?
And the last times I've "lusted" after someone, it was because I wanted to give them gratification, too. It wasn't because I just wanted to get my rocks off.
There is something you fail to understand: I am not going to apologize to a God I don't believe in.
Where was your God when I was abused as a kid, hm? Where was he then? I choose to believe in a Higher Power(cont.)
You think you are the only one that was abused as a Kid?
I could tell you storys
I am sorry that you were abused and I know first hand waht that does to a person
BUT
God didn't abuse you it was the sinful nasture of "man" God allowed it so that others could see our (man's) own evil nature and our need of a savior to save us from our self destructive ways
and yes masterbating is a sin just as much as a lie, murder or any other sin
Mathew 5:28-30 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.
But I think this "God allowed it so that others could see our (man's) own evil nature and our need of a savior to save us..." is wrong and evil. God allows bad things to happen so he can say "See? You need me."? How that doesn't sound absolutely messed up to you is beyond me.
Well, considering I don't believe in Heaven or Hell... these points are moot. I don't believe masturbating is a sin, I don't believe sexual attraction is a sin. If I look at a hot chick and have a nice sexual thought about them, I'm not gonna go home and think "omg... I am such an evil person."
Whatever. You obviously believe what you believe and I believe what I believe. It has been a good debate but we both know this is going nowhere.
@ScottDaMoose - If slavery was wrong when the majority thought it was ok, what made it wrong? If everyone in the world agreed that slavery was right, would it be right or would it still be wrong? If it's still wrong, why?
who just started the events to let the creation of life begin (abiogenesis/evolution). That's it. I will not believe in a God who knowingly lets bad stuff happen to innocent people just to "test their faith". That is incredibly fucked up and I will not follow a God who does such things. I am not Abraham.
@EmbraceDorkhood The choices are still limited by God He doesn't force you to lie but he does allow you to choose to lie or not lie and it is your choice and you are responsible for that choice He doesn't allow you to choose to walk on water If you had true free will you could walk on water Only Christ (God) can do this what you view as "free will" is still limited notice the word "choices" in your defenitions one more time God doesn't force the choice you make he only limits them
Don't even bother arguing/debating with this guy... He's way too thick headed to understand. He can't even see what he is writing is one contradiction after another. I'm done. When someone starts arguing dogmatically instead of logically, you know they've gone off the deep end.
@EmbraceDorkhood once again Can you jump off a building and free will yourself to fly? NO your choices (even if viewed as free will) are still limited Let me see you free will yourself to walk on water You can't do it your "free will" is limited to what God allows You can choose and God doesn't make you choose to lie or to say 2. freedom of humans to make choices that are not determined by prior causes or by divine intervention Notice your defenition says freedom to make "choices'
will you have to answer to God for the color of your skin?
NO!
It wasn't a choice you made
can you "will" you skin to the color of a different race? No You don't have free will
Will you have to answer to God for telling a lie? Yes it was a choice you made and you could have chose not to lie and God didn't make you lie you chose to do so when you could have chose not to lie
You are responsible for what you choose not for what you have no control over
Can man "will himself to jump off a building and fly? no
Can man "will" hislef to walk on water ? NO
God can because God has free will this is why when God was in flesh (Jesus) he could do these things that we cannot do He has Free Will
-
Man has something different called free choice.
In the Garden Man was free to choose to trust God totally or to Gain knowledge and trust ourselves. Man chose the tree of KnowledgeMan is still responsible for he choices
Rom 1:20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
Rom 1:21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Do you approve of everything that God has ever done? OT and NT?
Do you think that if someone followed every SINGLE one of his commandments and laws and was a good person but still was an atheist, they deserve to go to Hell simply because they didn't believe in Him?
I challange You: Show me just one peson that has kept all ten commandments
One person that has never told a lie, etc...
There has only been one person ever that has not broken the commandments and he is known as Jesus
Nio he did not deserve to receive the Wrath of the father for my sins and your sins but he chose tio take your punishment and all he ask is that you put all of yopur trust in him and he will give you perfect and eternal life in the end
It's a hypothetical question and you haven't answered it. So please, answer it. I'll ask it again just so it can sink into your head:
Do you think that if someone followed every SINGLE one of his commandments and laws and was a good person but still was an atheist, they deserve to go to Hell simply because they didn't believe in Him?
And another good point was brought up by The Atheist Experience: If God were to tell you to go ahead and kill your youngest son, even though he did nothing wrong at all, would you do it just because it was God's will?
Rom 9:18-21 So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills. You will say to me then, "Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?" But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, "Why have you made me like this?" Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?
This verse is so ridiculous, it's unbelievable. It basically states that I have no right to choose how I live my life because God is the molder and already knows my path. But wait... aren't we given free will?
Though, you are right... we don't truly have free will according to God. I did some reading in Revelations and found this...
Revelation 13:8 - "All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world."
It means that your God has chosen people to be sinners or "saints" since the creation... So, if I'm not in the book, I'm screwed anyways. How sweet of Him.
Rom 3:10 as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one;
Rom 3:11 no one understands; no one seeks for God.
God has chosen to make himself known to some men and claimed them as his own and writen their name in the book of life but those men are still sinners that deserve Hell But God has given them mercy and Grace and alloowed them to spend eternity with him *(which they do not deserve) whiole the rest wll get what they deserve.
I am a sinner that deserves Hell probably more then you do
but God has chosen to pay for my sin on a Roman Cross and open my eyes to who he is.
He also suffered and died for your sins also
if you would accept it and trust in what he has done and not what you have done
But if you choose to reject this gift he offeres then You will get what all men deserve (Hell) while others will get what the do not deserve (Eternal life)
Perhaps you missed the part where all of the names are in the book "...from the creation of the world".
Apparently, your mind cannot grasp the concept that this means there is no such thing as "choice" because everything is already predetermined by God. So, every single time you say "...if you choose to reject", you just end up contradicting yourself.
As for the names being i the book before the creation of the world doesn't change that man has a choice to sin or not sin and we will always sin because it has infected our nature.
The reason the names were in book before the world was made is because God chose before he made man that man would choose sin and God chose before he made man which men he would give mercy and grace
Wow you cannot understand something so you accuse me of having a problem
I could bring you to work with me and show you how to build and opperate a train on a main rail
Buy you will never understand it fully untill you have built trains and operated them for a few years and even nthen you will still learn knew things about train handling
the same applies here
it isn't that i have said something wrong it is that you fail to grasp it
I do understand perfectly; I understand that YOU don't understand what it is you are writing.
And your train analogy is just bogus. It is not the same thing. You and Ray Comfort should get together and talk about paintings and bananas. You'd have a nice conversation about how art and bananas disprove evolution and prove the existence of God.
We blame God for the choices man makes because they like to do it in His name. They like to cite the scripture before they commit atrocious and inhumane acts. Gee... I wonder why we blame God.
Now, if you do NOT answer the very straightforward question I asked to you in the beginning, I am done writing back to you; I am done with your religious drivel.
Here is the question again: Do you think that if someone followed every SINGLE one of his commandments and laws and was a good person but still was an atheist, they deserve to go to Hell simply because they didn't believe in Him?
Then... you are an awful person and so is your God. Honestly, to wish eternal torment on someone who's only "crime" was not accepting God/Jesus as their Lord and Savior, is pathetic.
What if they WEREN'T atheist? What if they were Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, or Jewish? Your answer would still be the same... I know it.
Ok. This is pointless. You're still not answering the HYPOTHETICAL question. All you're doing is deflecting. At least cameronmhayton understood the question enough to answer it... but something tells me you would agree with him anyways.
Apologies. It was late last night and I did not correctly read the passage from Romans so I misinterpreted it. Either way, it's still a ridiculous passage to me (as most are).
you say God cast people in Hell for not loving him
When the bible says it much different.
ALL men have turned from God and sought after their own evil desire
God says He will love us and if we will turn from our self-destructive ways and trust him alone he will save us from Hell which is the result of our own sin
God displayed the greatest love of all when he suffered death fr our sake when he could have wiped us out of existence or never made us in the first place.
He chose to make man knowing he would have to suffer to show his love to only a few.
I dodn't love God just as you do not
and I would have never have any love for God if he didn't open my eyes
this kind of love seems to be beyond your ability to understand
man (in the begining) was not sinful and close to God. God gave man a choice. He didn't force man to love him. And man chose to not love God and do that which is evil. man's relationship with man became severed. Sin entered the world and all men became sinful. God DID NOT make man to go to Hell. man chose to have other things then God.
God chose (even though not one deserves it) to extand undeserved mercy and love to some men that have turned there back on God
Rom 9:11 though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad--in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls--
Rom 9:12 she was told, "The older will serve the younger."
Rom 9:13 As it is written, "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated."
Jacb also did evil only God chose to open his eyes and change him.
God didn't have to open his eyes or even allow him to be born.
all men will only choose evil unless god opens their eyes. You are responsable for that choice to do evil. God dosent force you to do evil. god made man to be good until Adam chose to do waht was evil and sin entered the world and we have inherited that sin from the frst man (Adam). now we will only choose evil unless God guides us away from evil.
those things are sin nature not human nature. By one man sin entered the world and all have inherited this condition known as sin.
These things (lust, anger etc..) are you sin nature you cannot control and there for you are in ned of a savior to save you from this uncontralable condition.
So
God became man and was born of woman in the same sinful flesh and never sinn once then took the wrath of the fathers sin on himself and took your punishment you deserve.
Mat 5:28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Mat 5:22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, 'You fool!' will be liable to the hell of fire.
You see no need of a savior because you do no see your own sin and lack of ability to save yourself from your own evil
It is easy to make yourself look good by comparing your sin to others.
But when you compare yourself to Christ you look evil.
God is the standard of good not you!
Gen 6:5 The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Rom 3:10 as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one;
What I want to know about the "Abraham" story is this: Why would God NEED to test Abe's faith? Isn't God omniscient? Doesn't He know EVERYTHING, including whether or not Abe was sincere and loyal? Why screw around with Abe like that?
@gspendlove Excellent question, I must say! Here's why God tested Abraham:
Abraham sacrificing Isaac was a prophecy of Jesus's sacrifice. These things in the Bible happen for a reason. The Biblical prophecies are vital because they prove that the Bible is true. They prove that God always had a plan to save mankind through Jesus.
Matt is an idiot:
1. God would never order someone to rape a little girl.
2. Thank goodness God is not like that. If he was, I would rather burn in Hell.
@EmperorOfEditing Still doesn't answer my question, which was: Why would God NEED to test Abraham's faith? Why did God feel the need to put Abraham to the test? And if He didn't need to, then why DID He?
@ScaryTeri101 It's a local show in Austin, Texas. They do the show live Sunday afternoons and it's up online not too long after. Actually, it might be during filming that they stream it online. I don't remember, but it should be on their website.
"God is love"...but he'll torture you for all eternity for simply not buying a fairytale which has every piece of physical evidence(which I would imagine Christians believe that God created)disproves.Seriously,anyone who presents the story of Genesis as actual history which we all,even secularists,must accept as absolute truth,right there that person has proven himself to be at least brainwashed or at worst an idiot.More intelligent Christians view Genesis as little more than a fable,unlikeJohn

People go to hell because WE as humans fucked up. We fuck up all the time. And if we choose to lead a path that has nothing to do with god, you will go to hell. Andn thats not gods choice. Thats your choice.
@silverstein834yo If God created the universe then He set down the path, and it was his choice to set up the system. Also depending upon your vision of God, (is he omniscient?) then it could be that since God knew what we were going to do even before we were born then He is just as responsible since He placed punishment for something he knew we would do before we did it.
@FireDragons42 Not just punishment, but ETERNAL punishment. Seems like this "God" character WANTS to punish people, because any little thing you do gets you ETERNAL torture...
@patrickledford420 i know right, satan is a slave rebel, he is a nat turner. Why should you serve a being that will torture you forever if you dont believe in him
@thesparitan lol i agree especially if it sent one or all of your freinds and family to hell how could it possibly be heaven even if you count out the worship for eternity you cant get around the pain of knowing that maybe your mom or dad or brother or sister is eternily being tortured but of coarse they will make up some stupid bullshit logic to get around that also
@patrickledford420 see you atheist dont get it, god is love and if you dont believe that you are going into a pit fire forever. see, its the old carrot and the stick thing.
and christians say we have nothing to hope for, LOL even heaven is not that great. forever is a long time even when you are happy. give me peace and nothing anyday
@thesparitan i know a heaven full of lol christians ohhh scary and also full of evil rapist and chil mollesters and murderers sounds like a hell to me yet hell sounds like heaven
@silverstein834yo you realize that statement makes no sense. thats the same thing as saying "Love me, if you dont then imma torture you slowly till you die and painful death. thats not my fault its yours for not loving me." which leads me to my next point, you honestly think i want to burn in some hell forever? i would rather not, chances are hell doesnt exist but if it does why in the world would i wanna burn there. your telling me i want to burn forever and its my fault. plz grow a brain.
It is just bad when an atheist finishes bible verses for you.

FireDragons42 1 year ago 11
@perfectshot77 I'm sorry for being so argumentative, but we do not agree on everything. What I originally had an issue with was not your belief in a creator, but that you said "their very well might be or there might not be, who know's and why speculate in any firm (belief) direction". I despise this assertion that because we don't know, we shouldn't bother debating or attempting to learn more. Pursuit of truth is something to be valued. If I misinterpreted your original comment, I apologize.
towelie893 1 year ago
@perfectshot77 I don't say with absolute certainty that there is no creator, and neither does Matt. He said we can't know anything with absolute certainty, but his conviction that there is no God is basically knowledge for him. There is no evidence for the existence of God nor is there any unexplained phenomenon in nature that necessitates his existence. So while I suppose God might exist, there is no reason other than pure faith to believe. Also beliefs are opinions, that's how we can disagree.
towelie893 1 year ago
@perfectshot77 That is exactly the viewpoint that I cannot stand. Believe in God or not, but at least have the courage to stand by your convictions. Don't simply state that we can't know for sure so it's useless to speculate; some people, like Matt and me, simply have a desire for truth and understanding of our universe. If you are of the type that declares that all we have are opinions and we should just accept each others', as I suspect you are, then I'm sorry but debate is not for you.

It is beyond your ability to understand how man can have choice and in the end still achieve what God wantas that person to achieve.
often there is more then one way to solve a problem but the problem still gets solved.
it is as simple as
you are going to do as God wants and there is more then one path to get there and your choices will descide how you get to that destination

So for those that God choose to save this is wonderful and amazing
I know that I deserve HELL and many will go there and for God to choose to show me mercy is wonderful

Only His Elect "chosen" will truly believe
Joh 6:64-65 But there are some of you who do not believe." (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.) And he said, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father."

I do not believe man has free will
so it cannot be violated if we don't have it
I believe that Only God has free will
and man has freedom of choice and the choices are limited to what God allows
God already knows what we will choose and at times even drives us to make certain choice
I believe God puts who hw wills in power ansd who he wills in poverty
Buit he does allow us to have choice and man will always choose wrong if Gopd does not cause us to choose right

@EmbraceDorkhood
If I understand you correctly You are alomost agreeing with what I have been saying from the begining.

Man doesnot have free will man has freedom of choice (limited by what God allows)

@EmbraceDorkhood

You fail to see yopur own evil and you accuse God of being evil because you make the wrong choices and you are angry because he will not give you total free will when you cannot even make the right choice on simple things like telling a lie

jrockzmyv382 1 year ago
@jrockzmyv382
You still fail to see
if you have told a lie you have sinned against God
have you apologized to him and asked him to forgive you and guide you away from sinning against him?
The last time you lusted after someone did you go apologize for desiring to use their body for your own personal gratifaction without even carring about who that person really was on the "inside"?
I but you didn't and all you cared about was your own gratifacation while you were masterbating
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@ScottDaMoose

God didn't abuse you it was the sinful nasture of "man" God allowed it so that others could see our (man's) own evil nature and our need of a savior to save us from our self destructive ways

Well, considering I don't believe in Heaven or Hell... these points are moot. I don't believe masturbating is a sin, I don't believe sexual attraction is a sin. If I look at a hot chick and have a nice sexual thought about them, I'm not gonna go home and think "omg... I am such an evil person."

only what choices God allows
He can allow you to have 20 choices but not allow 1 choice and your free will is limited to only what he allows
just because he allows it doesn't meen he makes you choose to do evil

Will you have to answer to God for telling a lie? Yes it was a choice you made and you could have chose not to lie and God didn't make you lie you chose to do so when you could have chose not to lie

can you not see the difference? between free will and choice?

God is responsable for the fact we cannot walk on water or choose oyr own skin color. This is God's resposability

Rom 9:18-21 So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills. You will say to me then, "Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?" But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, "Why have you made me like this?" The will of man is limited to what God allows

God gave man a choice not free will
the two are not the same
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@ScottDaMoose
You have yet to answer MY question... try and do so without the religious rhetoric.
jrockzmyv382 1 year ago
@ScottDaMoose
How sweet of Him.
jrockzmyv382 1 year ago
@jrockzmyv382
Actually All men are sinners
Rom 3:10 as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one;
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@jrockzmyv382
So in other words
I am a sinner that deserves Hell probably more then you do
but God has chosen to pay for my sin on a Roman Cross and open my eyes to who he is.
He also suffered and died for your sins also
if you would accept it and trust in what he has done and not what you have done
But if you choose to reject this gift he offeres then You will get what all men deserve (Hell) while others will get what the do not deserve (Eternal life)
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@jrockzmyv382
So your name may be writen in the "Lambs Book of Life" only time will tell
If you die un unbelievr then it wasn't
if you become a believer before you die then it is in there and you will receive the free gift of eternal life that you do not deserve
So the only question is---When will you Die? today? tomorrow?
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@ScottDaMoose
Perhaps you missed the part where all of the names are in the book "...from the creation of the world".
Apparently, your mind cannot grasp the concept that this means there is no such thing as "choice" because everything is already predetermined by God. So, every single time you say "...if you choose to reject", you just end up contradicting yourself.
jrockzmyv382 1 year ago
@jrockzmyv382
As for the names being i the book before the creation of the world doesn't change that man has a choice to sin or not sin and we will always sin because it has infected our nature.
The reason the names were in book before the world was made is because God chose before he made man that man would choose sin and God chose before he made man which men he would give mercy and grace
Or to say
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@ScottDaMoose
So then there is no choice. We were all predestined to either be given mercy and grace or worship "The Beast" and go to Hell.
Do you even bother reading what you write???

man= free to choose--trust God or eat from the tree of knowledge and trust himself
man had a choice and God did not force man to make the choice man made
man was free to choose
man could have chose to trust God and not eat from the tree of knowledge Man wil always choose wrong and wee need god to guide us
this is why the world is in the shape it is it is our own fault

ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@jrockzmyv382
Man by himself will always choose wrong
BUT
Man still could not (choose) free will himself to fly
God can fly because God has total free will

ALL men have sinned and all men are on death row
A man on death row is already guilty and in prision and deserves prision
But If "the Governor" chose to give a pardon to one man it is because the governor chose to do so and not because the man deserved it
God came in the flesh and took the punishment of sin on himself so that he could chose some to save (give a Pardon)
The people in the "lambs book" deserve Hell but God chose to pardon and take their punishment on himself
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@jrockzmyv382
This does not change the fact- man had the choice to not sin
but man chose sin and it has infected man to the point that we choose only sin
we do not deserve to be free of Hell
God did not force man to sin WE CHOOSE TO SIN and because the first man sinned we inherited the same sin nature
God could cast all men into Hell and still be Holy and loving
once again ALL-- let me say it again ALL man sin
a god didn't force us to sin but he did chose to save only some

@OkWheresMyMonkey
perspective is a strange thing
you say God cast people in Hell for not loving him
When the bible says it much different.
ALL men have turned from God and sought after their own evil desire
God says He will love us and if we will turn from our self-destructive ways and trust him alone he will save us from Hell which is the result of our own sin
think about that

@EmbraceDorkhood
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood So, yes, you are right to a point and God could have made us so that we would only want God --and nothing else
But what kind of love is that, where we couldn't want to love God by choice from our heart?
God made man and angels with the ability to love him more then anything else, by choice
Some of the Angels and all men choice other things then God
And God knew we would choose other things and he would have to suffer to get our attention
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
God allowed man to Love Him by choice not force.
Even without the "tree of Knowledge" Man would have chose to seek other things then God.
look at Lucifer---he had no tree and he still turned against God and he would have conveinced man to turn with or without a tree.
God made man with choice and Man chose "knowledge" over God.
At the moment man chose to want other things then God.

@EmbraceDorkhood
What you are saying is God has not extended this love to you.
If you cannot see what Chrst did on that cross when he suffered for your sin (every lie, theft, lust, etc..) That is between you and God
As for me --He has extended his mercy and love to me and I do not deserve it. But I accept His irresistible grace
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
man (in the begining) was not sinful and close to God.
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
Actually ALL--let me say that again --ALL--
All men are either Athest or follow false gods
God chooses to open the eyes of some men.
All men are created the same all are born on path to Hell.
And if God chose to not save even one he would still be Just, Holy, and Love
God's love and goodness is not dependent on how he treats you (an evil human)

if you would really like to knw the answers to these questions you ask
I suggest you get some books by R.C. Sproul.
"What is Reformed Theology" by R.C. Sproul is a good one but it is not an easy read. You will have to focus in on the point Sproul makes in the book
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
you are correct.
God did know that man would fall before He made man.
He also knew that he would have to become man and take the crushing blow of his wrath for sin so that he could claim some of those men as his.
And he still chose to make man even though it caused him to leave his thrown and become man and suffer on a Roman cross.

ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
all men will only choose evil unless god opens their eyes. You are responsable for that choice to do evil. God dosent force you to do evil. god made man to be good until Adam chose to do waht was evil and sin entered the world and we have inherited that sin from the frst man (Adam). now we will only choose evil unless God guides us away from evil.

theft and murder are not the same and the punishment is also not te same yet both are a crime.
just as a lie is a crime against God just as much as murder is.
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
that is the way you see it.
But I see a God that chose to claim me as his. And iinstead of eternal Hell he has offered me eternal life
he first loved me If you were loved by him you would see it much different.
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
you are correct you will take responsablitiy for your own sin and that responsability is eternal Hell.
God says he took your punishment for you if you will just trust him and surrender your life to him
if not then He will let you take your punishment on yourself
So if that is what you choose go ahead
as for me I have seen the error of my sin and I will trust Christ that was punished for me. My life is now his and in his hands
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
How can God view sin as equal?
A crime is a crime no matter how you look at it. theft is still a crime. speeding is a crime. both have a penality attached.
a lie is a sin (crime) just as murder is a sin (crime) both deserve Hell.
God also makes it clear that there will be different levels of punishment in hell
BUT a liar will still be in Hell just as a child molester will be in Hell on the Molester will have a greater punishment.
Either way a liar still goes to Hell
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
If you will trust in this deed that he has done and not your own abalitys then he will give you eternal salvation.
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
those things are sin nature not human nature.
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
Rom 3:10 as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one;
ScottDaMoose 1 year ago
@EmbraceDorkhood
have you ever told lie?
God views a lie the same as theft, murder etc....
It is easy to say " I have never murdered or raped" or say " I am not like those men in prison."
But that is your standard of good and evil
God's standard is different then your's. A lieis just s evil as the others. The condition of your heart is the problem.
jesus said to look at a woman in lust is to commit adultrey in your heart
to be anger with someon is murder in your heart.

What I want to know about the "Abraham" story is this: Why would God NEED to test Abe's faith? Isn't God omniscient? Doesn't He know EVERYTHING, including whether or not Abe was sincere and loyal? Why screw around with Abe like that?
gspendlove 1 year ago
@gspendlove Excellent question, I must say! Here's why God tested Abraham:
Abraham sacrificing Isaac was a prophecy of Jesus's sacrifice. These things in the Bible happen for a reason. The Biblical prophecies are vital because they prove that the Bible is true. They prove that God always had a plan to save mankind through Jesus.
Matt is an idiot:
1. God would never order someone to rape a little girl.
2. Thank goodness God is not like that. If he was, I would rather burn in Hell.
EmperorOfEditing 1 year ago
@EmperorOfEditing Still doesn't answer my question, which was: Why would God NEED to test Abraham's faith? Why did God feel the need to put Abraham to the test? And if He didn't need to, then why DID He?

Thats your choice.
silverstein834yo 2 years ago
@silverstein834yo If God created the universe then He set down the path, and it was his choice to set up the system. Also depending upon your vision of God, (is he omniscient?) then it could be that since God knew what we were going to do even before we were born then He is just as responsible since He placed punishment for something he knew we would do before we did it.
FireDragons42 2 years ago 16
@FireDragons42 Not just punishment, but ETERNAL punishment. Seems like this "God" character WANTS to punish people, because any little thing you do gets you ETERNAL torture...

@patrickledford420 i know right, satan is a slave rebel, he is a nat turner. Why should you serve a being that will torture you forever if you dont believe in him
thesparitan 1 year ago
@thesparitan lol i agree especially if it sent one or all of your freinds and family to hell how could it possibly be heaven even if you count out the worship for eternity you cant get around the pain of knowing that maybe your mom or dad or brother or sister is eternily being tortured but of coarse they will make up some stupid bullshit logic to get around that also
patrickledford420 1 year ago
@patrickledford420 see you atheist dont get it, god is love and if you dont believe that you are going into a pit fire forever. see, its the old carrot and the stick thing.
