I don't think the agents intended to hide the fact that shooting had been involved. Not reporting a case of shootng in semi-war zone like the border infested with armed smugglers when no death or injury was confirmed is a common thing until this case. But it is a fact that the prosecution did hide a lot of relevent truth from the jury, two of whom want the guilty verdict to be overturned.

A supervisor told them it wasn't necessary to file a report.
I'll admit they should be punished. But not in prison by other inmates.
