The comment is even more ignorant considering the McCartney's long history of involvement in charitable causes, and more often than not they've done it with with quiet dignity and less grandstanding than Bono, Sting, etc.

I'd say the only other person who'd know is the other musician with him. Even with distortion, the gentle strum of McCartney's left hand does not match the strum/picking heard on the soundtrack -

What you are hearing is the acoustic itself coming through the mic of the videorecorder as well as the distorted version coming from an amp which is turned down lower than the live vocal and live acoustic. That's why it sounds like 2 guitars.

The mix is VERY live. Hope this clears things up a little garyokee... peace.

And... damn... McCartney's cool!
