Wall-E's the rusty yellow boxy one who lo0ks like he came from a Megaman game. XD There's more than one white robot. There's Eve, Auto, MO, GO-4, Securit-E, and a lot of other Axiom robots with a surgical white motif.
@301941142 Oh! You haven't seen Short Circuit?! You have a whole new MOvie experience to...experience! XD Johnny Five was a robot who became self-aware after being struck by lightning. Type "Johnny Five" or "Short Circuit" into your YT search bar or just rent or buy the MOvies. There are two of them. I recommend watching the first one first.
@301941142 Johnny Five is a vaguely WALL-E-like robot from the Short Circuit MOvies. They have very different personalities, though. Johnny (originally called "Number Five" but he chose the name Johnny at the end of the first MOvie) is more extraverted whereas WALL-E, being an introverted intuitive type (like Rocko from 'Rocko's Modern Life'), is more like Johnny's human friend and co-creator Ben Jahveri. That is, as per Short Circuit 2. Ben was completely different in the first MOvie.
By the way, the original song is from 1967 by Tommy James & The Shondells. Tiffany's cover is the version I grew up on, though. My favorite Tommy James song is 'Draggin' the Line' which I used in a HL2 video.
1967??? wow but it just sound so 80's and have you noticed how all the younger female singers have the same voice like if you scream loud you voice changes in the morning sorry i cant find the correct word for it bu i think you get the picture
Ha! Those do lo0k familiar! Don't recall EVEr having one, though. I did, however, have a mullet. XD And I kept my mullet (it was spiked on top Bart Simpson style) til around 1994. I would have been 14 at the time.
Yes, I do completely remember Pocket Rockers now, but I never had one. I was satisfied with standard tapes.
Note: Aside from having a mullet, I also wore a fingerless glove on one hand. XD Not a white rhinestone glove like Michael Jackson. No wai. Mine was a beige leather fingerless batter's glove with a white fabric backing. I think it had a Velcro strap. A friend gave it to me. He wore the other one. We were the freaks of our sk0ol so it was kind of a symbol of freak solidarity. XD
Its the music, the pace, the timing of the creatures to the music, AND the way they interact that produces my feel-good feeling for HOURS :D it is PRECIOUS!!
Did yiou ever go to a Pow Wow and did you enjoy them? I bet you would be so much fun to go with you to one! I went to several and I loved them all my life...
Oh....Well, then I am REALLY Lucky to be writing with you; Your ears are liable to be quite pointed and you may disappear any minute? :) I will treasure these moments dear Elven one. Does your hair naturally have a Scottish-reddish tint?
Perhaps I should inquire if you live in the Loch or near the forest? Or in a forest? And if you are unusually short? Maybe you will appear in my Lucky Charms Cereal one morning?!
Speaking of having a toaster for a head -- what if it was a radio, a vacuum cleaner, a lamp, or an electric blanket instead? I'd prefer the lamp.
\8-P
Note: That's a reference to 'The Brave Little Toaster' which, like 'WALL-E', features "A-113" (except it's an apartment number). The reason they put that in all their movies is because it's an homage to the ro0m at CalArts where the artists studied.
That IS very funny and I have heard reference to this cartoon before, never the interesting story about the apartment number. :) Thanks!! I am intrigued by your info and any artists who studied there.
It's an animated movie, yeah, but as a kid I merely found it entertaining. It wasn't til I grew up that I really underst0od what the artists were saying.
There is a funny book comparing women and men and their activities to lamps and such? It is called "Is Sex Necessary or Why you Feel The Way You Do" by James Thurber & E.B. White
The song itself is a cover of a song from the '60s (original by Tommy James & The Shondells -- a band that inspired many). It just has "that sound." Also, I think it probably had a lot of meaning for those of us who were kids or teens in the '80s and early to mid '90s. We probably danced or went rollerskating (rollerskating in my case) with someone we had a crush on.
ok i didn't get this comment so i showed it to dad and he said "that's pretty much it" and i don't understand any more than before either of you said anything goddamnit =(
Just kidding. I suppose this sort of this is what Dr. Manhattan calls "an unquantifiable abstract." In other words, it can't be explained in concrete terms. It's an aspect of the human condition that has to be experienced on an individual basis and is difficult for one to explain to another.
Note: Watch the langauge. This is the left ho0k that flo0red Captain Axis, remember? (obligatory reference to Hollis Mason from Watchmen)
But she's got a cuddly mama side too, like myself. It's an interesting dynamic, if I weren't majoring in music but in sociology I might study it further :x
Well, a friend of mine once told me that far along in the future I'll probably have a big Victorian house with a wrap-around porch, and from that porch I'll give people lemonade and tell neighborhood kids that if they don't simmer down I'll call their momma's. LOL we're goofy :x
Oh, I love its corniness! XD I'm quite the cornball, though, so it's no wonder. I'm proud to be a dork.
\8-D
Have you heard the original by Tommy James & The Shondells? I grew up on Tiffany's cover. I like it more as an adult than I did as a kid or teenager. As a teen, I kinda lost my sense of corniness, but regained it as an adult. And I'm glad. So very glad....
TJ&TS is always great, but I grew up on Tiffany's version. Plus, I wanted it to be heard from Eve's perspective. With the Tommy James version, it would give the vibe of Wall-E's perspective. That works to0, but I had a more specific idea in mind. I might do another one with the original song. Or I might leave that to someone else.
Haven't seen that one yet. One thing about having an INTJ personality -- you never get bored with things. XD
I still love 'The Black Hole' and it came out in 1979. Actually, I like it more as an adult than I did as a kid. Slim Pickens rules. Before Wall-E, there was B.O.B.
I have the same psychometric profile as Dexter Morgan.
}:-D
Which makes it all the more ironic that I make stuff like this.
\8-P
I mean, it's no wonder I make GMVs with ultraviolent FPS games to the tune of heavy metal and techno music, but to do something totally innocent and carefree like this here...that's an accomplishment for my funky self. It gives me equilibrium.
MORN-E -- I could totally see that being the name of an Axiom bot. XD Maybe one that prepares breakfasts or has a built-in alarm clock or some combination of morning-related stuff.
