  • Leaving out the animal ingredients is a simple thing to do for manufacturers. Lift hand, do not pick up whey, or casein, and place hand back down on counter. Proceed with non animal ingredients. End product : vegan. End result : more profits. Vegans love to spend money on vegan foods. I will spend 3 dollars for a small tub of vegan margarine before I will ever buy a jumbo tub full of animal ingredients at any price.

  • I just look at my magarine and it has whey! ;(.I feel like a murderer.God bless you for this review!.Im so upset that it has milk. The cover shouldn't make it seem that the butter has just oils and water.I had my doubts about my becel which was why I only use it rarely/

  • @cherri7 You can't beat yourself up over a small thing like not knowing there was whey in your margarine. Just recently I found out that the bread crumbs I was using had dried egg yolk. I just assumed bread crumbs would just have bread crumbs so I never thought to read the ingredients. We all make mistakes and making yourself feel bad about it isn't good. Just don't buy it again and now you know to read the ingredients very carefully:)

  • @vegancookingdotcom Thanks for the encouragement=).I'll defiantly be more careful next time.

  • thanks for vid! i use the becel margarine that says it is made from 100% vegetable oils but the ingrediants shows water and stuff.it doesnt say vegan but it does seem vegan to me.It has a yellow cover,is the one im using vegan?im so depress now=(.I became vegan few months ago and before i was vegetarian.i didnt know that whey wasnt vegan

  • @cherri7 The vegan Becel says Vegan right on the packaging. There is no mistaking it:)

  • I agree that it is a great margarine. Tastes just like regular margarine and bakes the same too. I have always found Earth Balance a little salty... and has a strange taste when used in any crumb bases in baking. I can't wait to try this one in a crumb crust!

And its easy to find in stores.

  • oh yeaaaahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for the information
