Does anyone have the actual cartoon image of the worm from the intro to this series? If so I would be your best friend if you could download it. He sort of ambled along and bit a woman's toe, then laughed showing perfect teeth. I have looked high and low for an image of the actual worm and had no luck finding him.
Women would only get to this position if men let them, but never by force unless man's brain shrinks even more so than it does now. Wouldnt surprise me.
I really enjoyed 'The Worm that Turned', despite its blatant and bizarre sexism. There can be no doubt those short-pantied women police were popular with male viewers (I'm not sure if men being forced to wear skirts and bear female names was). I don't know if this has aged well; the gender-reversal totalitarianism definitely did not start with Margaret Thatcher in real life.
I've just noticed that the character played by Diane Dors is never given a (male) name.

Gee. It would be quite nice if it was like this. The women are far tougher these days.

Diana Dors is awesome in this, it's anoying that Ronnie Corbett keeps butting in with those completley unfunny one liners
