Rockstar Games doesn't continue on a story with the same characters and setting. They never do continue the story of one character. They start a whole new story. The 3rd Red Dead will have nothing to do with Revolver or Redemption, it may contain little references to the past games but that's as close as they will get to relating the games. Don't plan on seeing Red Harlow or John Marston ever in the future of Red Dead games. It's time for a whole the character when the next Red Dead comes.

@Legion640 It'd be tricky making a sequel since Red Dead ended with the very end of the Wild West era. They would have to skip back in time, which means we would lose out on a lot of the cool technology in Redemption like the gatling gun.

I was thinking follow ricketts as a kid in the civil war (rickets as a boy soldier in the CS army with Uncle. they get betrayed at the surender) Follow josey wales story and showdown tumbleweed. Have like a corupt governer/ union officer and have a massive battle and show the town get blown appart. perhaps make apearences such as red drags jack s to find a doctor and gets healed? Bufflao soldier fights the governer again ect.

Jack becomes a legend while the boy its unknown, Jack and his gang train the kid to the words of John, but he seeks further. Now Him and Jack fight with other gangs to find out whose the one that shall be called The Legend of the West. RED DEAD ROAD or RED DEAD RIGHT. And at you can get Johns outfit, and Johns gun, It would be called the Marston Revovler =D.

By the end of the game on the last mission you are in town with your son some guy threatens your son so you defend him. Turns out that the guy was the only survivor of the gang that killed you father. You are shot from behind and taken to your house. While you are ill you the gang attacks your house and it is up to your son to save his family (you play as the teenage kid). After you finish this mission you recuperate and are able to play as the main character, his son or wife. The end.

@olie266 Well... I had to throw what was on my mind... but in case anybody wonders my story is based somewhere in between the story of Wyatt Earp and William H. Bonnie (many of you know him as Billy the Kid)... I wanted to bring a story that was based on actual people...

Later in the game you discover that justice is not so just and pretty soon a gang enters your town kill your younger brother. The law don't do much so you must take vengeance to your hands and therefore you are dispatch from your position as US Marshall. Beginning part 4 of the game. After you take revenge on your brother's killer and are dispatched from the law enforcement you decide to settle down, get married, buy a house and have a kid. Have a few missions as a farmer managing your farm.

One's you (and your brother) become U.S. Marshall you en the second part of the game and start the 3... As U.S. Marshall you'll both have mission in which outlaw most be brought down, towns, ranches and people most be save from gangs entering your town and meet the women you'll marry in the end of the game.

As they grow up the father's friend dies and they learn about who was they're real father... They set out to find they're father's killer they take him down. Then one's they find him and kill him and his gang. They are soon persecuted by the law until the U.S. government find out who was it that you killed. After they find out that you and your brother brought down the most notorious outlaw they give you the position of U.S. Marshall in a county.

I think it should follow a new character back in the mid 1800. A teenage kid that loses his father, a reflection of Jack Marston; he is left with his younger brother. They are picked and taken care by the one friend of your father, he teaches you the way of the west and how to survive. That would be the first 1/4 of the game...
