  • hes one of my main idols, but this particular version of the ripper's beginning scream is probably his worst executed one :(

  • He is a very great singer but in my opinion he is not made for heavy metal. I think Dickinson is better for heavy metal, and nobody can take that away from me. Halford may be a better singer but it's just my opinion and I hope you can accept it. So please don't be a bitch at me guys.

  • @Rihew Everyone has rights to their own opinnion right ? :)

  • They are both probably the 2 top heavy metal singers.

  • @Rihew They both rule in my book!

  • Anybody know his highest note? The highest I've heard is Dissident Aggressor.

  • @Legionbass19 well in the studio version of the Ripper he sings a falsetto A6. That's definitely the highest note he's sang.

  • Best singer ever over and out...

  • My favourite metal singer of all time \m/

  • The Devil gave birth to Halford

  • He's not called the Metal God for nothing.

  • Painkiller

  • and allllll of ressurection lol

  • I think his highest note ever was in 2009 ( G#5 ) at the ending of Victim of Changes on the British Steel Anniversary DVD.

  • just an amazing range...truly the Metal God!

  • You should listen to the song "Run of the mill from Rocka Rolla". The end of the song is amazing. He is the real Metal God

  • Theres so many amazing Metal Bands, and people prefer Bruce Dickinson and Dio, but at the end of the day, no one can do what the Metal God can do, thumbs up if you agree!

  • What about Beyond The Realms of Death? The chorus is a total bitch to sing

  • halford RULES!!!! i can scream like halford..but i'm not him... but...he still can sing

  • As a singer, "Victim of Changes" is my white whale.

  • his voice will take your face off at a close range. trust me. the god of metal has really earned his title.

  • Rob hits an A5 in full on Ram it Down his highest full note on record.

  • Daniel Heiman would drive him into the ground. I still ove Rob Halford, though.

  • @fallout3madman Daniel Heimen is good but he has to try so hard and he gets screamy and he can't hit a lot of notes in full voice without getting really screamy and his voice is so weak and not very powerful or emotive. And his low range is garbage. Rob halford destroys him in every way shape and form. Anyone who know's anything about vocals would agree with me.

  • Between the hammer and the anvil is such a fucking underrated song!!!!!

  • between the hammer and the anvil: thats pretty fucking amazing

  • All these screams are probably the best oh heavy metal, but I must admit that I prefer when he's singing in a lower range. For me, Before the Dawn is the perfection with Prisoner of your eyes or Burning Up. Anyway, the first scream for Ram it down makes me sick, so disgusting, this motherfucker is so far above every singer in the world. The Metal God Rules

  • I think Messiah Marcolin (Candlemass) had a similar range -- he was trained as an opera singer -- but can't deny the awesome distinctiveness of Halford.

  • I think Messiah Marcolin (Candlemass) had a similar range, but can't deny the awesome distinctiveness of Halford.

  • btw what song is before painkiller?

  • @metalboy031290 it Dissident Aggressor in their Sin After Sin album

  • 1 No me gusta ??

    ¬¬

  • WTF Why theres no notes that he hits???

  • True, Bruce Dickinson is really awesome, but compared to Rob he is only a decent singer...

Rob can sing epic and scream epic, he's so unique!

Dickinson on the other hand, a great singer (not so great next to Halford), and his screams are not amazing or impressive, besides, he's almost don't scream..

    So, Rob>Dickinson

  • @MadeOfMetal93 SPOT ON MATE. THERE ARE MANY LIKE AND ME WHO THINK THE SAME. ONLY FANATIC IRON MAIDEN FANS CANNOT ACCEPT THIS, MATURE FANS ACCEPT THIS REALITY THAT HALFORD IS THE METAL GOD!!!! UNBEATABLE!!!!

  • @MadeOfMetal93 @MadeOfMetal93 SPOT ON MATE. THERE ARE MANY LIKE YOU AND ME WHO THINK THE SAME. ONLY FANATIC IRON MAIDEN FANS CANNOT ACCEPT THIS, MATURE FANS ACCEPT THIS REALITY THAT HALFORD IS THE METAL GOD!!!! UNBEATABLE!!!!

  • @hyperloke I'm a fanatical Maiden fan. I've been listening to Priest since 1980 too. I don't think you can compare these two GODS. Bruce can't sing or scream like Rob, that's not his style. But then again Rob couldn't sing any Maiden songs without changing them for the worse either. To compare them against each other is like saying Strawberry flavored Pussy tastes better than Cherry flavored Pussy. Both are equally great.

  • @SNDNGRKLR Only Cherry pussy is traditional like Judas Priest of which I prefer. And to me Judas Priest is a much more experimental with vocals and instrumental.

  • <3 him!!!!!!

  • His voice is like an instrument itself.

  • People try to compare Dickinson to Halford.

    Sorry, folks - no contest.

  • Rob Halford is truly THE Metal God.

    btw where's metal metldown?

  • you forgot to get "Saints in Hell" in there

  • Canta pra caralho !

  • the exciter screem is like the best ever :o

  • Halford was born with some mutations on his throat.

  • @DeathMayDie77 does ur username come from the videogame Blood? thers an episode called Even Death May Die (its actually 1 of my favorite games ever, lol)

  • have u ever hear the solist halford songs??? please do it.... halford band and fight, really kick ass from his 50 years to hes last tour 2010

  • rob's scream in the hell patrol is perhaps one of his best.

  • Actually, if I'm not mistaken, Tim Owens had a slightly higher range than Rob, though Rob's high tone is better.

  • @Scarecrow545 retard? Tim sang at a lower key

  • @timothydfrank1991

No shit, you tool. I never said he didn't.

  • Wait. I have been unable to find anything lower than a D2. That means he's one semitone below 4 octaves - Though I have no doubt, he's got that extra semi tone somewhere. i just haven't heard it.

  • @Yaxbie he hits the first octave with growl (yes, he can growl), and the 6th with falsetto

  • @unlikeanyotherhuman He's slightly beyond, with his highest note I've heard being a C#6

  • I thought there might have been people who could compete with Halford's vocal range...until I heard Dreamer Deceiver

  • @abe1sapien

Run of the Mill is another insane example

  • @abe1sapien great song...

  • @abe1sapien listen to aggresive perfecter..

  • @abe1sapien Dissident Aggressor*

  • I've listened to a lot of Halford, and honestly, I think his greatest screams are on Dissident Aggressor; and on a version of Victim Of Changes (which you can find under the name "Judas Priest - Victim Of Changes (rare 1975 recording)" at approx. 0.47 min).

  • ..if someones like to hear this or not, we have to be fair, even its a matter of taste, but he is the king of metal voice, nobody is similar ......

  • @MrSupermax77 I think some people could say he is tied for being the King of metal because there are quite a few other people in my opinion that were just as amazing some even more in my own opinion in Classic Heavy metal. Eric Adams for one is just plain amazing and Bruce. This is just old Rome with many Gods of metal. There is no true king nor God of metal.

  • What about the last scream in Ram it Down or last scream in Sad wings- Live Insurrection

  • @pontusozzy Screaming In the Dark has higher notes than Dreamer Deceiver in the chourus.

  • @pontusozzy Or the end of freewheel burning which is sick too

  • My heart literally jumps here: 1:12

  • I just started listening, but did you happen to get the Genocide part? "Sin after sin I have endured, yet the wounds I bear are the wounds of love"

  • what is the name of the third song?

  • The Green Manalishi

    (the end)

  • awesome!

  • @DeathMayDie77 you forgot.......somethning,The Green Manalishi WITH THE TWO PROUNDED CROWNS

  • I personally recomind you to listen the unleashed in the east version, definitelly the best of it

  • Great video! I would be put something from Halford's solo carrier and something from another Priest live albums, and something from FIGHT can be a great Extra.
