Is anyone running their keyboard of the mains? If you are running the midi keyboard of this cable and the power from the pc then this might be why it is lagging? Just a thought ;)
My simple thoughts.... In goes to in, out to out. Nope. Searchin 2,5 hours to a solution, and i came to this simple video, he explains.... Thanks. If I will ever become a famous producer, i'll thank you
wast of money wht i did was buy midi control at a pawn shop for 40. bucks and guess wht plug and play service pack 3 will give wht it needs and yea it works with fl lol and i got xbord 42 lol
I just purchased two of these cables and found that I can't get them to work in FL Studio 9 on Windows Vista with older keyboards like the Korg Triton. It seems to be all but a complete waste of money.
hello friend i already connect the cable but do not know how I get my computer working on bone to set at least for use with fl studio or cubase do not know how to configure it if you tell me please
do you have to plug both in and out to the back in order for it to work? because i have a midi to usb cable with just one connector and i dunno if it's becuase it doesnt have an IN and OUT
@TechTubeCentral Hi! I bought a MIDI Interface/USB. Like the one you have. I already have installed it to my computer. The problem is I don't know how to record songs or piano songs like what others do. I want to record piano on my computer. Can tell me or show me how to? Please please reply. Thank you!
do not bother buying it its a waste of money... I recomend going to a real music store and paying 2 or 3 times as much for a better cable.. cause even tho i payed £8 for it... its £8 basically thrown down the drain...
if i spend £30 on a cable from a music store it'll be £30 well spent cause the cable will actually work....
this cable the signal lags,, so when you hit the drums theres a huge delay which basically means its useless as music has to be intime.. it also cuts off for no reason
yer i hate sellers on ebay that sell junk like this.. basically your just as well buying a piece of string with midi connections attached to it cause thats how much of a job it does...
i really really recomend this with all things,, dont buy cheap chinesee products off ebay, or anything electrical that is cheap...
always spend extra if yu cant afford top of the range, then get cheap - midrange things that are also sold in UK or US stores..
i own a top of the range mac book pro so i doubt it very much it has anything to do with the sound card or driver, as it works but lags, and ive gone out and purchased one from a music retail store and it works perfectly... thanks
That cable is complete crap, I have already tried two of them and neither worked. One worked for a few days actually then broke without being moved. Total crap.
@hujekc id tell you but sadly mine broke! Sorry i used the software synthfont (free on windows) and plugged in the piano then i used audacity and recorded what noise my computer makes. Not the best way. I was a n00b at the time and didn't know anything good luck!
@hujekc I have the same issue. I bought a MIDI Interface/USB to connect my keyboard to my computer. The problem is I don't know hot record songs on my computer. Do you already know how to?
@TechTubeCentral Hi man, i bought a cable similar to this but with a big problem, i want ask you to try this cable with the software MIDI-OX and tell me if the On - Off events are right compared to your actions with keyboard. Cause my cable it's fuc*ed up and it play notes in delay of one note! It is always one event behind. It only seems like it's playing the note on key release until you play more than one note.
@antoniogiordano1989 Then you see that it's sending the correct data but always lagging one event behind the key being pressed. Basically if you press and release C4 you only get the 'Note On' for C4. Then if you press D4 you get the 'Note Off' for C4. Then if you release D4 you get the 'Note On' for D4... and so on. Please tell me if your cable has the same problem!!! Sorry for my english!
I have a question. My midi keyboard doesn't have any midi inputs or outputs, it all runs through USB. This sucks for me because my soundcard is terrible. Could I use this cable backwards and plug the usb end into my keyboard and the Midi inputs and outputs into my audio interface??
does the computer realize that it's a MIDI-input or does it realize it as an USB-input?
because I'd like to use this cable to play sampled synthesizer in a sample-software called "SampleDecks" which is only able to work with midi-inputs...
if you plug it into a mac it just works. and on my mac there is no buzzing sound like you said there is no scratch sound it works seemlessly with no lag and its awesome
@techtubecentral i disagree. i know there are a few viruses for mac but honestly, i dont worry about it. i'll never install anti virus on my mac, i never worry about anything. I don't care if I got a mac virus, my mac automatically backs itself up everyday so if my machine was rendered useless i could have it working again in an hour, easy. i find everyday windows users dont usually back up their systems because it takes too long and slows down their systems when its happening.
Hi! I have the same cable, but I have problems. When I play the notes they stay ringing and ringing, don't stop. The led is always on (blinking), even when I don't play anything is that normal? your cable have the led always blinking too? Sorry for my bad english. Thanks.
@techtubecentral piano (casio keyboard). Im progressively getting myself into making more music with the PC. Im going to check out what I can do with the keyboard and some software like Logic Pro/FL Studio. What software do you recommend me to start off with? My idea is to make some loops, perhaps grab some beats online and try to make some kind of acid jazz music. Herbie Hancock style if you know what I mean. Try to imitate the Fender Rhodes sound as well.. who knows.. endless possibilities..
@Alexmg123 ok first of usually u use a syth that is hooked up to the piano and the synth is hooked up to the comptuter. I was misinformed when making this video. I was however able to use syth font when it is hooked from my keyboard to the computer. Then I tured it on played something and syth font would make the sound on the computer then i used audacity to record my computer's sound input not the best way but it works if u dont have a syth
I have the exact same piano and the same MIDI USB converter. Had that piano since I was in grade school, but anyways, could you enlighten me on how to actually get my PC to recognize my piano, it's plugged in and it's installed, but I still get the background noises when I try to record. hey techtubecentral! i bought the same USB cable and when i pluging the synth to computer (laptop windows XP) i can not install drivers [error 25001] any idea what is it? and secend question. does in and out buttons have to flick bouth or just in? becouse mine flicking only "in"
@lordjames2670 thats because usually you need a synthesizer. However using syth font ant audacity i was able to get it to work i will make a future tutorial on it in the future if you would like
@formuna101 The CABLE how it works? when you connect cable to PC it shows red light button if its on, right? and next to red light it is said "in" and "out" light buttons ,.. my cable only flicks yellow light "in" button is that right or it needs to show something else? ....[yes my english is bad but i thing you can understand what i mean]

Strange, a midi cable has got nothing to do with sound, so that the cable should by itself cause sound noises would be a really weird trick...
