Wow,....totally BEAUTIFUL, very awe-inspiring, especially for a land-lubber like me,...lol....up here on the central plateau, within easy reach to the pacific ocean or the gulf of mexico but a landlubber all the same,..luved the glimpse of Migaloo the great white whale,...thumbs up to ya Dave and thankin' ya for an AWESOME share! = )
@qualqui Sadly, Jose, I've been a landlubber lately too. So glad you liked this! Your comment inspired me to read a bit about the Central Plateau which I'm ashamed I hadn't heard of since it's basically Mexico's heartland! Yesterday I saw a video shot in your very own Sea of Cortez in which some whale watchers freed a humpback trapped in fishing nets ("Saving Valentina.6.8.11.h264.mov" by elinoyes). Now there's a place I really must visit- another great whale watching location of the world!
@EmCSpiteri1 For me too, Em- and what's nice about those memories is the way you get to enjoy them without the physical discomfort of being at sea! We had our rough days too but I left 'em on the cutting room floor.
@GeoffJennyOliver You still could! The Oceania Project is still running, taking expeditioners out for a week at a time (August thru October) on Hervey Bay, except they use a smaller motor boat these days. "A tall ship is a great prop," as Wally said, "but more about setting a straight course in the open sea than chasing whales" so sadly their magic combination of square-rigged ship & giant sea beasts is no more.
VW, Thanks for the video. Living vicariously through your adventure, through your films. Makes this old whaler long for an adventure of his own. All too inspiring, I’m digging into my sea chest for my camera and will begin a shoot and edit soon. Let you know how it turns out.
@aduziproductions Aye, Aduzi, and you're not alone, old salt. This ol' whaler has been landlocked far too long and needs again to feel that seaspray in his whiskers. I'll look out for your next production while I lens and lash together some more of me own!
@albenia1935 Thanks so much for your enthusiasm, Charles, on my videos and on my page as well! I think of God and Nature as being interchangeable so you're right: the Divine was Good to us that week!
