  • This could perhaps be a different version, if you want some help figuring it out, shoot me an email and i could help you out. This is by no means supposed to be a literal transcription of the song nor will it reflect the way the black keys might play it live but it is a great starting point and it is good to be creative, locking in with the feel & changes is more important than playing it note for note.

  • i dunno if its just a diffrent virsion on my ipod (didnt get it of itunes), but the end has a break that goes boom ka ka ka boom boom ka ka ka, not the same little beat. but it might just be a diffrent virsion

  • Very good tutorial, though i'm not used to this drum notation.

  • wow, one of the best teachers on youtube. cheers.

  • whats that thing that flys up everytime you hit the snare????

  • @echoblisss It's a small pack of gum taped to the rim of the drum so it can lift off of the drum and allow it to ring a bit before it comes back in contact with head and shuts off the sustain.

  • Thanks Dave this tutorial really worked out for me i like how you broke it all down and made it simple to understand thanks again

  • nice work, what audio interface do you use?

  • @greatkid1 I use an M-Audio 2626 w/ some external preamps.

  • Outstanding tutorial! I've been trying to figure this song out for months. You broke it down perfectly.
