Great to see lots of younger fans enjoying stuff that is 30 and 40 years old over all the manufactured auto-tuned pop stuff out there today. Rush's music is absolutely timeless with honesty and no hint of pretentiousness at all. It's so simple in its beauty, and powerful in its awesomeness. ANYONE can just pick up on it and enjoy it. Different Strings is a wonderful example, and this album and Moving Pictures are good places to start for any new fans.

Its this song that put Permanent Waves over the top as my fav album. I love every piece of music they've made, but if I had to choose only one to have, it has to be PW. It just seems to capture all of the key 'Rush' elements. Two long epics, a catchy(but complex) single, defiance, sensitivity and awareness, and here even a love song. The music has positive energy and is some of the best songwriting of their careers. A masterpiece, in my eyes(and ears).

Unfortunately for those who love Rush, Rush is a band that is very musically diverse and they use a lot of mixed meters, and in general are very well liked by musicians. I am 16 and in high school and I started listening to Rush because of my two friends who march snare along with me. I tried to get my family into Rush, and unfortunately because they don't know much about music they just didn't feel the same passion for their music. I love the complexity and can't wait for the next tour!

@headshop .. I can explain it. It is pretty simple, by knocking others down they elevate themselves in their own eyes. A derogatory remark is the badge of somebody suffering from low self esteem. The same dynamic is at play with shows like "Springer", people can tune in and see someone who is a bigger loser than they are and it makes them feel better about themselves.

Its all BS and doesn't help solve their issues of course.
