I would like to see more movie like 'The Black Hole'. I am tired of people 'walking' inside a spaceship like they are in an Earth-based movie studio.classic wire and CGI that doesn't look CGI! I've seen great fx motion photography... but scripts have minutias that I can't follow or 'suspend' disbelief? Or better yet... have the whole 'black hole' expedition reflect what we know from 'Discovery' channel?
Good job! Great work giving the movie that horror/suspense feel that Disney left out the first time around. The original should have lived up to this!
DAMN! That was a VERY well put together fan trailer. I love this movie, but you actually made it look even more exciting than it actually is. Nice contemporary editing and mix techniques. Kudos! I'm gonna point some more of my friends to this! Simply....WOW! :)
i love this movie. an excellent trailer youve made. can you imagine what it would be like if it were remade with cgi?? and get maxamillian schell to reprise his role!
If Maxamillian Schell is still alive to reprise the role...and the historic importance of this movie was that it was the last Disney movie to use these sorts of special effects before "Tron" came along.
i know the this was disneys last movie to be filmed this way. i was just speculation what some older great movies like this or 2001 would look like if remade using computer cgi. and we know so much more about black holes today, thanks to hubble have actually taken photos of some, and Schell is only around 60 i believe. i just cant picture anyone else playing Hans Reinheart.
I really love this movie. a bit slow and dark but that's what gave the movie it's charm. I really think Hollywood should look into giving this movie a remake. This would be a better time than any. With all these sci fi flix hitting the screen. I really think this movie is do. Imagin Max and Vincent on the big screen again. That would be awsome.
Good trailer. Good movie. It was the 1st really DARK movie ( I think ) that Disney made ( profanity, violence, character death, etc. ) The ending was a bit strange & reminded me of " 2001 ", & the science wasn't solid - flaming meteors in space, breathable atmosphere w / none should exist - but I liked it back then, even if it goniffed from Star Wars.
As fan trailers go, this is pretty good. About a billion times better than Disney's original trailer. If I could suggest trimming it a bit and not showing so much, then I think it would be even better. Overall, great work!
Nicely done. Better than the original. I'd wanna go see it if I hadn't before. I loved this movie when I was a kid and now I own it. I know it's cheese, but it's still one of my favorites. The Cygnus is one of my fav ship designs. I wish they'd remake this. It would be such a good movie now with all the better special effects of today.
Very well edited and put together - only problem is that the trailer shows you far too much of the story. Perkins gets killed in the trailer, you see the crippled Cygnus, exploding power stuff, the Palomino blowing up etc. which if you haven't seen the film would ruin it a bit. Otherwise, good job!
I love this movie. When I first saw it as a child on VHS from my fathers video collection I was totally fascinated. One of the best sci-fi movies ever. I have it on DVD now and I still love to watch it from time to time.
I highly agree! Bravo. Job well done. One of the best fan trailers out there. You've captured some of the best scenes with some of the best dialogue. Please... by all means, keep up the good work!
This is absolutely amazing, Disney should put this on a new dvd release with the movie. Incredibly well done, makes the film look ageless, you should get an award for this!
The Black Hole and Event Horizon are similar movies for sure ... Some have claimed it was a remake. To me, the Black Hole has more charm. I liked the concept of Event Horizon, but it was a somewhat crude execution.
Disney had a great opportunity to create a classic but they played it too safe.
Had this movie come out in the mid 60's I think would have been called a classic. When I saw it in 1979 it seemed really dated though the special effects were excellent.
Fantastic. I wish this film could have received the accolades it deserved, from the warm genius of Vincent to the surreal heaven and hell ending that had my young mind whirling. You've done a great thing here.
Fans are split on my choice of music, but you may like my Jedi Mix.
Great job! The Black Hole is my all time favourite movie. I saw it in 1979 when it first came out in cinemas at the tender age of 6 and it completely blew me away. I'm almost 34 now and I still love it. Not just a great trailer but a homage to a great film. Just remember: "On MY ship you ASK, Captain".
I got your message man. Glad to hear my fan trailer inspired you. And I gotta say you've done a very impressive job on your own version. For example your dialog editing is alot better than mine for sure!
Incredible! And it didn't cost the tax payers a dime :-)
Seriously, far better than the original trailer...makes me want to pop in the DVD and watch all over again.

Yes, these space effects were awesome. I am a sick star wars fan but the new trilogy lost me a bit with all the CGI.

Well, they're coming out with this awesome sequel to Tron. ^^
And yes, with what we know now about black holes and with the new special effects we have today, I guess this movie should be remade. ^^

The Black Hole was the first to have had Digital technology.

The perfect replacement for him would be Sean Connery.

"It's mission; same as ours... to find HABITABLE life". One of the most hilarious mis-statements in sci-fi cinema history. :)

Ill never understand why this film doesnt reach anywhere above mediocre.
Is there no chance Hollywood can go back to building models of spaceships rather than CGIing them? The Cygnus is prob the best looking ship ever.
