They are actually predicting it will be as strong as the one in the 1800's which set fire to telegraph lines. If that happens everything you own with an electrical cable will be fried. I believe NASA said somewhere in the 2011 and 2012 range but they could be wrong. Prediction of solar storms is still something new to NASA.

@ilikemickless nothing to worry about unless you still use a commodore 64 and walk around with a 80s mobile phone brick , we have earthed sockets and our powerstations are grounded i think heh although America its prob a different story.. but wifi and mobiles now use microwave not RF so would only affect a few satellites and transport communication devices ,at worse powerstations may need to shut off for abit to protect their transformers but nothing major although my door locks are electric :S
