Evolution is for morons.............why do people believe this blatant lie? Stupid people. Things reproduce after their own kind just like the Bible says. Gen 1:24. Evolutionists are morons .......that is what the Bible says..... Rom 1:20-23. Judgement is coming people, get right with God through Jesus Christ. Acts 17:27-31. Rom 5:1.
@thybigballs This vid shows something maybe Ben is unaware of conserning the supposedly fired professor, who btw was never an employee: /watch?v=p3QHsUS3Lp4
@baptist1644 I had watched the documentary long before i posed the question. The problem is no one knows of any scientists who have lost their job for trying to discount evolution. As a matter of fact, even amoung the scientists who are also theists, not one of them has ever submitted a paper for peer-review that challenged the theory...not one. If you know of any could you please let me know? Thanks
@thybigballs You are right. This movie(it is not a documentary) was one of the biggest FAILS already made trying to lie about the scientific community. This guy is a liar and he knows that.(Stein).
@LowresTV What most creationists dont realize is nearly 40% of scientists belive in god. Anyone can google such things as "studies for scientists that believe in god" or How many scientists are religious" or similar searches and see for themselves. And yet, not ONE of them has ever submitted a paper for peer review against evolution. NOT ONE! This Stein guy is a lying fat fuck. He should back up his claims with some friggen evidence. Just give us one rejected paper! /watch?v=p3QHsUS3Lp4
@thybigballs That's right. And the only reason I see for they being so concerned about the minority of athiest that speaks loudly about it is that their beliefs are just fragile.
The atom bomb killed how many people? Yet, we benefit from atomic theory. Should we stop driving cars because of drunk driving: how many traffic deaths were there last year? Yet, we're still driving cars. How many people die on airplanes? And yet, we're still flying on airplanes. I'm sorry but the Bible didn't cause those deaths you're talking about: human beings caused those deaths.
Ocean of blood spilled in the name of the christian god, The Inquisition, The Crusades, The witchhunt, The 30 year war, The Conquistadores. The plunder and destruction of the indigenous cultures in the Americas. The participation in the slave-trade. The open support of Apartheid. The pogroms and expulsions of jews in several christian countries, The publication of the worst anti-semitic, racist writings ever.
"The Church of Darwin?" Mr. Stein, please, tell us where are you getting these fantasies? No one wants to establish a church of Darwin!
If those "scientists" can't form ID hypotheses, test them, show them to be valid through repeatable procedures, share their results in peer-reviewed journals, then they haven't established ID as a science. THAT's why they are laughed at.
After seeing "Expelled," I no longer enjoy watching or listening to Ben Stein. It's so sad that this intelligent man became part of this pack of lies and deceit.
@Xenophile665 It's funny how close minded you are as to call someone intelligent before you knew their stance on this topic, but to call them deceived once you found it went against yours. lawl
@Xenophile665 lolwut? Ok...here's my proofreading...
"After seeing "Expelled," I no longer enjoy watching or listening to Ben Stein. It's so sad that THIS INTELLIGENT MAN BECAME PART OF THE PACK OF LIES AND DECEIT."
@M3PanoS Yes, and if you understood English, you would know that I was not saying he was deceived; I was stating that he is now part of the deception.
How exactly does one become a part of the deception? You've gotten yourself into some dangerous territory here buddy. Either (1) you concede the fact that you ridicule his intelligence after finding out he logically came to the conclusion that naturalism is not the answer; or (2) you announce that you think Ben Stein is a liar that is simply backing intelligent design for ulterior motives. Pick your poison.
@M3PanoS "Dangerous territory, buddy?" Pardon me while I shiver in fear for a moment (yawn).
Ben Stein is an intelligent man. So was Pythagoras. Pythagoras also worshipped numbers. Intelligent men make mistakes. However, I think Stein is like Hovind, Ham, Robertson, Hinn, et. al.. There's no way to know if he believes it, but he's making money from it. You figure the logical conclusion.
@Xenophile665 So I guess you went with poison number 2 -here's what I have to say to you. Yea, just like the millions of dollars that the so-called New Atheists are making selling their propaganda? If it wasn't for religion, these parasites wouldn't even have the ability to produce a fraction of their current income. I'd like to see how he's making as much money as the other side when he's been largely ridiculed and hated for his unpopular views unlike his atheist counterparts.
@M3PanoS Yes, the people who cheered and applauded him when he appeared with Pat Robertson on the 700 Club really hated and ridiculed him.
BTW, demeaning "New Atheists," (as you call them) in this way is equivalent to vilifying doctors because they get rich taking advantage of the sick and injured.
I thiiink Ben Stein is Jewish, but I hope he chooses to become a Messianic Jew before his time on earth is up. I would love to see him at the table for the Marriage Feast of the Lamb when we're all in heaven :)
Are you a physicist btw? Do you know that men of science sought the laws of nature precisely because they expected them to be there and the reason for that is they believed in God; that God willed the universe into being through his Logos. It's a bit disingenuous to pit science against religion for both will fail.
The best argument in my humble opinion is, where did all (or any) of this stuff come from? Not how did it come to be, ie the big bang, but where did even a single molecule come from? Even ONE? Everything physical MUST have a beginning. Everything. You will never find an answer to this, until you and the Lord find each other.
@ladsut Very true. The laws of thermodynamics dictate that matter, and the universe as a whole, is expanding and losing energy, and must have had a beginning. Matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed by any process we have observed. Only God has the power to create this universe.
@ladsut You stated, "Everything physical MUST have a beginning." That is your assertion. Can you provide proof of that? How can you prove that all matter and energy hasn't always existed, in one form or another?
well, I live by reality. In the sense, i have never seen life come from non-life. life comes from life. whether it be the famous miller's experiment which was discredited by the very atheistic scientific community.
and philosophicaly i know that nothing comes from nothing. matter and energy cannot come out of nothing.

Wat does the fossil prove?Other than that something fossilized or petrified.. which can in fact happen very quickly over not millions of years, but relatively small amounts of time... the dating process is also very faulty also..
Actually the dating process is only flawed to hundreds of years within thousands of years If I were to say something is 30,000 years old well you could take or give a few hundred years but it's accurate enough to say that it is over 6000 years old. Anyone who thinks the world is around that age just doesn't know the facts.
@jfeltes2 The fact is that is that c14 is produced in the ozone layer, and the quantity is determined by strength of the electromagnetic field. It is not constant, but it would have to be for carbon dating to be accurate as you say, based on original parent quantity of c14 . Scientists can sometimes determine if there has been contamination, but the parent quantity is assumed. What if that assumption is wrong?
Do you think carbon dating is the end all be all of radiometric dating. Many things half half lives and can be measured. Radiocarbon Dating has become synonymous with that. Trust me they have it right when it comes to the age of the earth. It's a complete impossibility that it is somewhere around 6 thousand or 12 thousand or even a million years old.
@jfeltes2 You're ignoring the point. Yes, we know the half-lives, but no matter the form of dating, the parent quantity of material cannot be verified because we were not there when it began decaying. My question to you is how do you know how much the parent quantity was?
"The rejection of dating by religious fundamentalists is easier for them to make, but harder for them to demonstrate. The fossils occur in regular sequences time after time; radioactive decay happens, and repeated cross testing of radiometric dates confirms their validity."
w ww.act ionbios cience.org /evolutio n/ benton . h tml
@jfeltes2 I've read that page before, its condescending tone is common. It does not address my question to you. Fossils are related, but separate. How do you know the original parent quantity of material? How can that be verified?
Faith gives access to reason of God. That is why it is not the matter of guessing. Faith is matter of knowledge and reason of God himself. Not believe God and Jesus is the most stupid thing in the world. Not believe is domain of devil. Yes, many devils this time in the world. Devil is the liar. You can see many people deceived by him. Look how many fathers and mothers kill their conceived children. Laws allow make babies on glass to kill them later. Lawless laws and lawless mass media of hell.
@jfeltes2 No it is not. Saying every one that has ever believed in any religion ever is a part of collective insanity is very ignorant and close minded.
@jfeltes2 Yes you did. You said religion is collective insanity, which obviously includes the people inside that group. You did not specify how many people, or anything which means you included all of them. And changing your words will show your inconsistency, insecurity, and will show your own ignorance.
Fine Your right I think your all crazy. Your all wing nuts, batty, irrational. I don't think your stupid though. Plenty of you guys are intelligent. But your off Your Rockers. There I said it and I stick to it. You happy :P
@jfeltes2 All people who believe that dogs have emotions or feelings are all wing nuts, batty and irrational.
You cannot classify such a wide group of people on something that has nearly no influence on their personality, it makes you look pretty dumb and close minded, along the lines of racism.
whether dogs have feelings or not is testable god is not. It's not borderline racist at all. I don't have a problem with where your born where you come from your social practices. I just have a problem with people accepting beliefs that can't possibly be demonstrated. Now how is that borderline racist?
Nicholas Copernicus,Sir Francis Bacon,Johannes Kepler,Galileo Galilei,Rene Descartes,Blaise Pascal,Robert Boyle,Isaac Newton,Michael Faraday,Gregor Mendel,William Thomson Kelvin,Max Planck,Gottfried W. Leibnitz,Albert Einstein,
Charles B. Thaxton and the list goes on.These are all major scientists who believed in the existence of God.Without them u do not have the science we have today. Are u calling these people crazy?Show me one, just one thing that makes u better than these men!
Just because smart scientist believed in a god didn't make them right. The truth in a minority of one is still the truth even when no one else agrees.
I never claimed to be "better" but as far as there religious beliefs go they were ignorant. By definition believing in something that has no evidence or proof what so ever is the very definition of ignorance.
Smart people can be ignorant and delusional at times just like those men listed in your post.
"By definition believing in something that has no evidence or proof ". This is what evolutionism does, it proves no proof an no explanation for the big bang, the transformation of non-life matter into the first living cell=evolutionism is ignorant. What makes those people ignorant? The lack of proof or the simple fact that ur world view does not accept anything else than ur type of facts? So they are ignorant because u call them so? Boy, ur full of arrogance! Newton=ignorant, U=not!
First of all evolution has NOTHING to do with the Big Bang Theory. Our kind of evidence. Evidence is evidence don't try to change the word because you don't have any.
If you want to see my evidence I can point to the nearest fossil.
You're right: evidence is evidence, expect you guys have none! That's why you resort to fossils which prove nothing other than an animal died. You do not know if that animal had any kids in the first place. Fossils do not prove evolution, neither does any lab experiment and you know it. As for the birth of the first "self replicating cell" or the birth of the universe, it's still evolutionary theories u guys use, but they're are NOT proven, so where's the science if u have no proof?
I shouldn't respond to you based upon your obvious ignorance. I state again that evolution has NOTHING to do with the beginning ot the Fucking universe. If you can't get that through your thick skull obviously you haven't really looked into any of this stuff for yourself because you have no idea what evolution really is. And it shows.
Also I'm not postualting that there is an invisible being. Were not postulating anything exists that can't be shown to have evidence for it's existence. Evlolution isn't proven but it's close enough for me. God however has no proof no evidence and the whole idea is very contrary to such things that are observable such as laws of physics.
Where's your proof in a book? Proving the book right with the book is like saying I know she's a virgin cause she said so. And virgins don't lie
@jfeltes2 The evidence exists if you research it without emotional bias. Written by 40+ people, in a span of more than a thousand years, across three continents, and not a single error has been confirmed. The accuracy, both internal and external, is unparalleled. Some things can't be proven either way, of course, and other things are counter-intuitive, but that doesn't make it wrong.
@jfeltes2 Atheism = one solid century of bloodshed in the name of a failed theory (Marxism), nihilism, purposelessness, inability to justify logic, morality, love. You have no inherent rights or worth. Be consistent with your own worldview. Either kill yourself or start living in a way that reflects your belief that this is the only chance you get. Don't waste it.
\Although Marx was an atheist the killing wasn't due to his atheism. Remember more deaths and murder have come from religion. Ethics and Morals don't come from religion and if you need religion to justify being good than I feel sorry for you. Ethics and morals exist in spite of religion. Have you read the bible. It's disgusting causing more death torture and social ostrisizing than any other source on earth. Most secular societies are more peaceful. Japan?
@jfeltes2 I'm not denying for a second that religion has caused much bloodshed throughout the years, but even you have to realize that saying atheism is a better alternative is flat-out stupid. Should we forget the Holodamor, the Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution, or the killing fields of Cambodia? Should we ever forget the literal ocean of blood that was spilled in the name of atheism in just one century, as opposed to the hard work we religious folk had to go through to spill ours?
@Xenophile665 Are you kidding me Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, Korean dictator, etc... (and even arguably Hitler)
And the millions killed under their atheistic regimes utterly DWARFS the thousands killed because of heavily politicized Christianity. Not to mention, that these atheistic regimes combine for a kill count amassing to more slaughtered than the previous 19 centuries combined.
@M3PanoS Those are not "atheist regimes." The form of government had nothing to do with religious beliefs, or lack thereof. Atheism is a part of Marxist doctrine, not the doctrine itself. Try reading the post at atheism.about.com/od/atheismmyths/a/Communism.htm
@Xenophile665 What I'm getting at is the fact that on an atheistic worldview one can LOGICALLY come to the conclusion that it is a positive thing to kill millions of people -something that CANNOT be done in most other religions, and definitely not in Christianity.
@M3PanoS Bulls**t. It is possible to have an atheist worldview without coming to a "logical" conclusion about killing millions being good. And it is certainly possible for Christian religion to come to that "logical" conclusion. Look at the Crusades.
@Xenophile665 Bullshit my ass, bullshit on you. I'm not saying all atheists will come to that conclusion, but that it is a logically viable action. On Christianity it is NOT. Bringing up the Crusades is an attempt to vilify Christianity is a laughable argument and one I predicted you'd come up with. This is because the Crusades were not in accordance with sound Christian doctrine but were rather carried out by a heavily politicized church that was a far cry from Biblical Christianity.
@M3PanoS And yet the crusades happened anyway, in spite of the fact that they were a "far cry from biblical christianity." Oh, and don't forget the Salem witch trials and the people who were killed last year in Africa by christian ministers who judged, from the bible, that they were witches, and should be killed.
Christianity tells people that they are sick and that only the shamans have the cure. That, Pano, is pure, undiluted bulls**t.
@Xenophile665 No you're gross caricature of Christianity so that you can have something to attack and pin your grievances to is pure undiluted bullshit. The fact that you are trying to judge Christianity based on how fallible sinners behave is a testament to the fact that you can't attack Christianity as a belief system.
Keep going with the so-called atrocities and I'll just keep telling you why they're not Christian, despite your and their wish to be...
@M3PanoS Because they claimed to be Christian themselves. They governed their lives by what their bible said. Please answer my question now: what makes them "not christian" by your guidelines?
@M3PanoS Christianity: the doctrine that god made me a sinner at birth, but will save me from this situation if I blindly accept him (or his son; identity crisis, apparently).
If I don't accept him, I will be tortured for eternity, same as Hitler.
@Xenophile665 It's not a doctrine lol. If you look at the term sin as purely a definition (to lie, steal, murder, cheat, etc.), then we are all by definition 'sinners.' The doctrine comes in place when we talk about the consequences of that sin. I, and NO ONE else, can deny the fact that we are sinners, only difference is that I accept Christ as a way to cover my sin. You don't. Ff anything I should be asking you why.
@Xenophile665 The last three comments you posted 16 hours after my previous three AFTER having gone back and forth, and all you could come up with were non-answers?
You did not reply for the sake of finding the truth but because you felt the need you HAD to say something or shutup. I honestly do not want to speak to you anymore, but I don't want you to think that you somehow 'won.' All I want to do in this comment is show that you've been going in circles for the sake of defending your ego.
@M3PanoS Is there a time limit I didn't know about? Reply to what? You asked no questions that I didn't address. If you give me specific questions, I will give answers. You're projecting yourself onto me, by the way; I've asked you questions, but you have yet to answer them. I'll repeat one that you evaded each time I asked it: Why should the people who instigated the Salem witch trials not be considered christians?
@Xenophile665 Did Christians today have anything to do with the Salem witch trials of yesteryear? Christianity is not monolithic. It is a logical error to assume 'after this therefore because of this': you're assuming a causal relationship here where in fact it's nothing more but a customary relationship. Along a time ago the US constitution endorsed slavery does that mean we should get rid of the US Constitution? Don't be irrational, my friend.
@RobHinkforth No, but the same bible they had in Salem is causing the same atrocities. The verse, "Don't let a witch live" still affects people adversely, some fatally. People in Africa were "executed" by their fellow villagers, on the advice of Christian ministers who told them that these people were "possessed" and were witches. And that happened within the past couple of years.
@Xenophile665: Isolated events can therefore represent an entire group past, preset, and future? Can I say all science is bad because of the nuclear bomb? Likewise, Christians in Roman times started the hospital movement. In short: the Bible has inspired people to be good & kind. Focusing only on the negative produces an unbalanced perspective. I cannot logically say for instance all atheism is bad because Nietzsche spent his final years at an asylum, calling himself Christ (to which he did do)
@RobHinkforth No. However, the fact that it can happen today means that Christians don't police themselves very well. I do not focus on only the bad in the bible. I accept the good advice, and am troubled by the supernatural tales told that are so readily believed by so many. I use the bible as philosophy, at times (E.g., the golden rule).
The original scripture is still there, and it caused these deaths. Does your god want "witches" executed?
@Xenophile665 Eze 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die.....--God doesn't wish for the wicked to be turned into hell, but rest assured, he has and does kill people for their ways.
@Xenophile665 And btw, the fact that you tag on the term blind before the word faith shows that you have a very rudimentary and misinformed idea about the term, as do many others, including Christians.
@M3PanoS Oh, so you've actually seen god? Because if you haven't, then yes, that's what's known as "blind faith," having faith in something without having seen it.
"you have a very rudimentary and misinformed idea about the term, as do many others, including Christians." I grin whenever I hear one of you say this. It's another way of saying, "Jesus thinks I'm Super special, 'cuz I understand and those pseudo-christians don't!"
@jfeltes2 Atheism cannot be separated from the teachings of Marx and Engels. That is the truth. And if you take atheism to its logical conclusion, you should end up in a nihilistic mentality. Ethics and morals are something that depend upon authority. Do you, or any collective of individuals, have the authority to objectively declare what is and isn't moral and ethical? (Mind you, that's a rhetorical question)
Japan isn't a secular society, btw. They're shintoists and buddhists...
in any measure of any kind I am the whole Christian claim does not intend to be narrowminded.. the brother of James surely "checked it out" and came to the conclusion his brother was God.. Look, either God exsists or he doesn't exsist and either Jesus was the messiah and God incarnate or he wasn't. Now we have to look at the facts as Aristotle says, " follow the evidence wherever it leads"
The more urgent question that should be investigated is not how life evolved, but why did the humans, created by "the all loving & merciful god" as the christians would have us believe, evolved into the likes of the christian & muslim bullies who continue to bulldoze into other people's homes & lands & actually destroy them physically for not accepting their view? We need to investigate the evolution of humanity as opposed to the biological aspect which is pretty useless.
@aparaajita10 Jesus Christ made a unique claim.. He declared himself to be the truth. Jesus never taught to kill people for not believing but to " love one another." The more important question is why do we care about the value of human life. If God does not exist it's just your personal opinion but if he does there must be a standard that we are all aware of in some measure. Seems scripture got it right that God has put the law on our hearts- we want to save human life
@a2dac4christ and you want me to believe you? you were standing with me when I was looking into the mirror, & I did not see you in the mirror, & jesus...the less said about him the better. I am not asking you to stop believing in whatever u do, just asking u 2 stop others from believing what they believe in. u say there is only 1 god, & then u say I believe in a different god. So u say that there are more than 1 gods...go clear ur head first.....
Even if all the information in all the cells somehow came from lightning striking a mud-puddle, or some other darwinian-speculated source, then it would have had to be present in the lightning or the mud-puddle as well.
This logically leads to the next question, "What is the source of that information?"
If you can follow an argument logically, and you apply logic to this line of questions, you will understand that the only possible conclusion is that it comes from a transcendent intelligence.
No one was ever converted by a discussion concerning evolution, God or ANYTHING.
God reveals himself through revelation, and the Gospels are very clear on this point. The scriptures were understood by the apostles not by reason, not by exposition, but by Revelation. Read the end of Luke...
Jesus, Son of God found faith in the world and this catholic faith is being passed on faithfully in Catholic Church, which He started. This is the truth and reality. The Apostolic Succession, The Eucharist, Devotion to Mary, Mother of God - three things which summarize all that is lost from fullness of totality, from what God revealed.
The main question is: do you really want to believe in and know the truth which is revealed by God? If you do you must believe as Catholic Church believes in all.
@akwinata1 "do you really want to believe in and know the truth which is revealed by God? If you do you must believe as Catholic Church believes in all." That's the error with the catholic church...adding to the gospel. please repent. The Catholic Church has refused to submit itself to the authority of God’s Word, it has set itself apart from the true body of Christ. It is a false and deceptive form of Christianity.
@jenkydesign 1.Thank You for your comment and question. Answer - He couldn't. In order to love us He had to created us first and He did. But He had to and He didn't have to. It is not contradiction of course, because of two different subjects. God didn't have to created us or anything else. He created us not because of some necessity of His nature, without engaging His free will, not automatically, not unconsciously, as not a person, but perfectly as 3 God's Persons, He created acting in perfect
@jenkydesign 1.Praying to Mary. Mary asks Jesus at the wedding at Cana (J 2.3-12). Jesus from the cross gave Mary to us as our Mother (J 19.26-27). Mary was at Pentecost (Acts 1.14 and 2.1). How can you say: I will not find in the Bible that Mary speaks to Jesus? She is His Mother.
2. Celebrating Mass. Jesus is the only Priest of God. There is only one Holy Mass. Holy Mass of Jesus offered by Him on the cross. And only one Last Supper (L 22.19).
OK! Let's agree (at the beginning) that Jesus himself was, is and will be always right and true. For this statement I don't need give you places from Bible (though there are plenty of them) because Bible has it's authority from Jesus, not the other way round. Jesus gave his authority to Bible, not Bible to Jesus. Jesus is the only Word of Father in which he sees himself. Father reveals himself to us through Word made man. Out of this riches we have received all. Who sees the Son, sees the Father
Im sorry but where in the bible does it say that the catholic faith is the true way? Im a believer myself but I dont ever remember Jesus ever saying catholicism was the right way?
Divine Mercy in my soul - The Diary of the Servant of God Sister M. Faustina Kowalska. Thank you for your question.
Suppose Jesus is talking to you today and telling you something which is not in Bible (though something which is not in contradiction with Bible, because Jesus can't be contradicted with himself). Surely you wouldn't demand from the Lord to show you place in Bible. Jesus gave his authority to his Church - to teach in Jesus name: You are the rock (Mt 16.18); John 21.16
@akwinata1 I think what he ment is that the catholic faith is not the only christian denomination. The true church consists of all believers who follow the word and is not just one branch. The catholic church wasnt started till much later anyway, i dont remember paul writing to them between acts and 2 thessalonians. Some denominations are pretty wrong though and need to be rebuked. Im not bashin the catholic faith im just saying that following christ with all heart is supreme. peace to u brother
The bible is a beautifully written story book. It has no authority in science. If all current theories and religions were taken away and scientists began research from a purely objective standpoint do you honestly believe they would conclude that there was once a great flood in which an 800 year old man carried 2 animals of every kind or that t-rex's were vegetarian because they could not kill untill the first sin was performed? Of course not. The bible is just a good book, thats all.
@onevision1991 Very dismissive. Is archiology a science? I think you will find that even without faith the Bible has tremendous authority in science as well. So what else are you overlooking if you are willing to dismiss the archiological connections it provides?
"Jared, I talked to a man once who had doubt about intelligent design of the universe and life altogether. He wasn't sure of his purpose on this earth, and why we were here. I said to the man 'go outside on a clear night... and just look up at the moon, the stars.' That is all anyone needs. God made you for his purpose, and he has had a plan for you all along. He knew you before you were born, and he has planned everyday of your life. You are written in his book.
@odinata What facts? All you said was that this person's grandfather posted that comment was made up. You have no way of proving that right so I suggest you start reading your bible and stop being a jerk on the internet.
@Aunshi111 What a great explaination!! None of us...let me repeat..none of us will rise above the rank of human being...in this life anyway. Men, with their "theories" have clouded the truth since mans' begining. Who are todays "shamans"? The "scientists" are. Science and law are the new religions. Ben posed a great question..."How can something come from nothing???....they still CANNOT answer that one. Then they get angry at you....without answering the question!!!
@bheadh Science does not use the supernatural and is not a religion. The Big Band has nothing to do with Evolution. The universe is expanding, it must have been smaller in the past.
That doesn't answer his question, it is a provocative question that seeks to challenge us all on what our fundamental assumptions are about the universe and our place in it. Is the answer scientific or philosophical or both? I think both, but science can never generate a satisfactory why answer, it tells us how, when, where, by what methods, but never why. It's whys are always answered by philosophy.
Ra, Zeus and the pagan deities are nothing like Judeo-Christian God, not even in the slightest. They were powerful humans whom had control over certain aspects of nature and life, nothing more. If you want to style yourself as a serious skeptic of religion then the least you could do is understand it, otherwise you're just ignorant.
@Jim1905 Judeo-Christian God and the three deities are nothing like the muslim God. Not even in the slightest. They were a human god who couldn't control his own death. If you want to style yourself as a serious skeptic of religion then the least you could do is understand it, otherwise you're just ignorant.
@Aunshi111 Sounds extremely arrogant to look up into the sky with the thought that it was all created for you. And Christians claim to be so humble...
@sbgrox11 - Science is based on reality. Religion is based on supernatural beliefs. Why do you think it is arrogant to believe only in things that are supported by evidence? What has "law and order" got to do with it?
@AndrianGo - Question, do you tell evolutionists to say "they dont know" and to honest?
Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the substance of things hope for and the "EVIDENCE" of things not seen.
Nthing else makes sense apart from a creator. Evolution proposes something that doesnt make sense and man has never witnessed anything it promotes. I however know of Gods amazing power to transform!!
Evidence of evolution is all around us. Specific cases such as cane toads, peppered moths etc. are well documented. There are no doubt many things in this world that make no sense to you and anything you don't understand must be magic.
Faith is demanded by every confidence trickster and snake oil salesman on the planet. The fact that someone tells you something is true does not make it true.
For thousands of years, literally thousands of years, there hasn't been a single one physical evidence that god did anything at all.
You don't KNOW nobody KNOWS if a god or gods exists. To say that "god did it" is dishonest because you (here's that word again) don't KNOW it exists much less what it did.
Go ahead now and start your game of words about how you KNOW that a god exists. History is not on your side.
There is no evidence that God didn't create the universe either, in fact quite the contrary. My evidence for a creator is the big bang. The big bang implies a beginning to the universe, and as we all know matter neither simply comes into being on its own, so that means some outside force had to (scientifically if you will) cause the event. Before the discovery of the big bang, scientists simply assumed our universe had always been here, much like I believe God has been.
"There is no evidence that God didn't create the universe either"
With this statement you agree with me that nobody KNOWS if god exists including me and you, therefore you don't KNOW what god(s) did, therefore the claim "god did it" is dishonest.
"My evidence for a creator is the big bang." Cosmological argument, I'm not going there since you've already shown to be ok with dishonesty.
Which sentences were incoherent, you clearly understood what I was saying. I cannot say absolutely without a doubt anyone made the universe true, but this is not "dishonesty", scientists cannot say anything 100% positively about anything, nor can I, but that doesn't make it dishonest, it is my best guess based on the evidence I have compiled. You are calling me a liar, based on hard, factual evidence? I mean come on, poorly thought out, and makes you look idiotic.

@baptist1644 I had watched the documentary long before i posed the question. The problem is no one knows of any scientists who have lost their job for trying to discount evolution. If you know of any could you please let me know? Thanks

How exactly does one become a part of the deception? You've gotten yourself into some dangerous territory here buddy. Pick your poison.
M3PanoS 7 months ago
@M3PanoS "Dangerous territory, buddy?" Pardon me while I shiver in fear for a moment (yawn).
Ben Stein is an intelligent man. So was Pythagoras. Pythagoras also worshipped numbers. Intelligent men make mistakes. However, I think Stein is like Hovind, Ham, Robertson, Hinn, et. al.. There's no way to know if he believes it, but he's making money from it. You figure the logical conclusion.
Xenophile665 7 months ago

Xenophile665 7 months ago
@Xenophile665 Yea, how about you take in the bigger picture genius -not just what Christians thought.
New Atheism is only demeaning because you charged the word as that after I said that, but I won't go into semantics now...

The best argument in my humble opinion is, where did all (or any) of this stuff come from? Not how did it come to be, ie the big bang, but where did even a single molecule come from? Even ONE? Everything physical MUST have a beginning. Everything. You will never find an answer to this, until you and the Lord find each other.
ladsut 1 year ago
@ladsut Very true. The laws of thermodynamics dictate that matter, and the universe as a whole, is expanding and losing energy, and must have had a beginning. Matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed by any process we have observed. Only God has the power to create this universe.
Falkon85 1 year ago
@ladsut You stated, "Everything physical MUST have a beginning." That is your assertion. Can you provide proof of that? How can you prove that all matter and energy hasn't always existed, in one form or another?

Wat does the fossil prove?Other than that something fossilized or petrified.. which can in fact happen very quickly over not millions of years, but relatively small amounts of time... the dating process is also very faulty also..
corymartin2012 1 year ago
@corymartin2012
Actually the dating process is only flawed to hundreds of years within thousands of years If I were to say something is 30,000 years old well you could take or give a few hundred years but it's accurate enough to say that it is over 6000 years old. Anyone who thinks the world is around that age just doesn't know the facts.
jfeltes2 1 year ago
@jfeltes2 The fact is that is that c14 is produced in the ozone layer, and the quantity is determined by strength of the electromagnetic field. It is not constant, but it would have to be for carbon dating to be accurate as you say, based on original parent quantity of c14 . Scientists can sometimes determine if there has been contamination, but the parent quantity is assumed. What if that assumption is wrong?
Falkon85 1 year ago
@Falkon85
Do you think carbon dating is the end all be all of radiometric dating. Many things half half lives and can be measured. Radiocarbon Dating has become synonymous with that. Trust me they have it right when it comes to the age of the earth. It's a complete impossibility that it is somewhere around 6 thousand or 12 thousand or even a million years old.
jfeltes2 1 year ago
@jfeltes2 You're ignoring the point. Yes, we know the half-lives, but no matter the form of dating, the parent quantity of material cannot be verified because we were not there when it began decaying. My question to you is how do you know how much the parent quantity was?
Falkon85 1 year ago
@Falkon85
@Falkon85
"The rejection of dating by religious fundamentalists is easier for them to make, but harder for them to demonstrate. The fossils occur in regular sequences time after time; radioactive decay happens, and repeated cross testing of radiometric dates confirms their validity."

@jfeltes2,
"By definition believing in something that has no evidence or proof ".

If you want to see my evidence I can point to the nearest fossil.
jfeltes2 1 year ago
@jfeltes2,
You're right: evidence is evidence, expect you guys have none! That's why you resort to fossils which prove nothing other than an animal died. You do not know if that animal had any kids in the first place. Fossils do not prove evolution, neither does any lab experiment and you know it. As for the birth of the first "self replicating cell" or the birth of the universe, it's still evolutionary theories u guys use, but they're are NOT proven, so where's the science if u have no proof?
flotopo 1 year ago
@flotopo
I shouldn't respond to you based upon your obvious ignorance. I state again that evolution has NOTHING to do with the beginning ot the Fucking universe. Also I'm not postualting that there is an invisible being. Were not postulating anything exists that can't be shown to have evidence for it's existence. @jfeltes2 The evidence exists if you research it without emotional bias. Written by 40+ people, in a span of more than a thousand years, across three continents, and not a single error has been confirmed. The accuracy, both internal and external, is unparalleled. M3PanoS 7 months ago
Xenophile665 7 months ago
@Xenophile665 What I'm getting at is the fact that on an atheistic worldview one can LOGICALLY come to the conclusion that it is a positive thing to kill millions of people -something that CANNOT be done in most other religions, and definitely not in Christianity.
M3PanoS 7 months ago
@M3PanoS Bulls**t. It is possible to have an atheist worldview without coming to a "logical" conclusion about killing millions being good. And it is certainly possible for Christian religion to come to that "logical" conclusion. Look at the Crusades.
Xenophile665 7 months ago
@Xenophile665 Bullshit my ass, bullshit on you. I'm not saying all atheists will come to that conclusion, but that it is a logically viable action. On Christianity it is NOT. Bringing up the Crusades is an attempt to vilify Christianity is a laughable argument and one I predicted you'd come up with. This is because the Crusades were not in accordance with sound Christian doctrine but were rather carried out by a heavily politicized church that was a far cry from Biblical Christianity.
M3PanoS 7 months ago
@M3PanoS And yet the crusades happened anyway, in spite of the fact that they were a "far cry from biblical christianity." Oh, and don't forget the Salem witch trials and the people who were killed last year in Africa by christian ministers who judged, from the bible, that they were witches, and should be killed.
Christianity tells people that they are sick and that only the shamans have the cure. That, Pano, is pure, undiluted bulls**t.
Xenophile665 7 months ago
@Xenophile665 No you're gross caricature of Christianity so that you can have something to attack and pin your grievances to is pure undiluted bullshit. @M3PanoS Because they claimed to be Christian themselves. They governed their lives by what their bible said. Please answer my question now: what makes them "not christian" by your guidelines?
Xenophile665 7 months ago
@M3PanoS Christianity: the doctrine that god made me a sinner at birth, but will save me from this situation if I blindly accept him (or his son; identity crisis, apparently).
If I don't accept him, I will be tortured for eternity, same as Hitler.
Yes, real justice your so-called god shows there.
Xenophile665 7 months ago
@Xenophile665 It's not a doctrine lol. If you look at the term sin as purely a definition (to lie, steal, murder, cheat, etc.), then we are all by definition 'sinners.' The doctrine comes in place when we talk about the consequences of that sin. I, and NO ONE else, can deny the fact that we are sinners, only difference is that I accept Christ as a way to cover my sin. You don't. Ff anything I should be asking you why.
M3PanoS 7 months ago
@M3PanoS Look up doctrine, Einstein. "a belief (or system of beliefs) accepted as authoritative by some group or school."
Newborns, Einstein. The bible teaches that they are born in sin. How? Pre-natal burglary?
Why don't I "cover my sin" with Christ? Because there is no evidence that he was anything more than a man.

Xenophile665 7 months ago

Xenophile665 5 months ago
@Xenophile665: Isolated events can therefore represent an entire group past, preset, and future? Can I say all science is bad because of the nuclear bomb? Likewise, Christians in Roman times started the hospital movement. In short: the Bible has inspired people to be good & kind. Focusing only on the negative produces an unbalanced perspective. I cannot logically say for instance all atheism is bad because Nietzsche spent his final years at an asylum, calling himself Christ (to which he did do)
RobHinkforth 5 months ago
@RobHinkforth No. However, the fact that it can happen today means that Christians don't police themselves very well. I do not focus on only the bad in the bible. I accept the good advice, and am troubled by the supernatural tales told that are so readily believed by so many. I use the bible as philosophy, at times (E.g., the golden rule).
The original scripture is still there, and it caused these deaths. Does your god want "witches" executed?
Xenophile665 5 months ago
@Xenophile665 Eze 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die.....--God doesn't wish for the wicked to be turned into hell, but rest assured, he has and does kill people for their ways.
filoIII 3 months ago
@filoIII You tell me to "rest assured" that god, "kills people for their ways?" If I believed that, it would not "assure" me in the slightest.
It isn't god who kills sinners - it's the shamans, the charlatans and the sheep who follow them.
Xenophile665 3 months ago
@Xenophile665 And btw, the fact that you tag on the term blind before the word faith shows that you have a very rudimentary and misinformed idea about the term, as do many others, including Christians.
M3PanoS 7 months ago
@M3PanoS Oh, so you've actually seen god? Because if you haven't, then yes, that's what's known as "blind faith," having faith in something without having seen it.
"you have a very rudimentary and misinformed idea about the term, as do many others, including Christians." I grin whenever I hear one of you say this. It's another way of saying, "Jesus thinks I'm Super special, 'cuz I understand and those pseudo-christians don't!"
Xenophile665 7 months ago
@jfeltes2 Atheism cannot be separated from the teachings of Marx and Engels. That is the truth. And if you take atheism to its logical conclusion, you should end up in a nihilistic mentality. Ethics and morals are something that depend upon authority. Do you, or any collective of individuals, have the authority to objectively declare what is and isn't moral and ethical? (Mind you, that's a rhetorical question)
Japan isn't a secular society, btw. They're shintoists and buddhists...
Doulos7608 11 months ago
in any measure of any kind I am the whole Christian claim does not intend to be narrowminded.. the brother of James surely "checked it out" and came to the conclusion his brother was God..

We need to investigate the evolution of humanity as opposed to the biological aspect which is pretty useless.
aparaajita10 1 year ago

If you do you must believe as Catholic Church believes in all.
akwinata1 1 year ago

@akwinata1 Praying to Mary, celebrating Mass, venerating the Pope...you won’t find these doctrines in the Bible
jenkydesign 1 year ago
3. Pope. Peter you are the rock (Mat 16.18).
akwinata1 1 year ago

The bible is just a good book, thats all.
onevision1991 1 year ago
@onevision1991 Very dismissive. Is archiology a science? I think you will find that even without faith the Bible has tremendous authority in science as well. So what else are you overlooking if you are willing to dismiss the archiological connections it provides?

My grandfather told me once.

Then they get angry at you....without answering the question!!!
bheadh 9 months ago
@bheadh Science does not use the supernatural and is not a religion. The Big Band has nothing to do with Evolution. The universe is expanding, it must have been smaller in the past.
gregrutz 9 months ago
@gregrutz
Jim1905 9 months ago
@Aunshi111 Which god made the universe? Allah? Ra?
gregrutz 9 months ago
@gregrutz
Jim1905 9 months ago
@Jim1905 Judeo-Christian God and the three deities are nothing like the muslim God. Not even in the slightest. They were a human god who couldn't control his own death. Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the substance of things hope for and the "EVIDENCE" of things not seen.

@prn72271 "Question, do you tell evolutionists to say "they dont know" and to honest? "
What is the question do which I should tell evolutionists "you don't know"?
"How did life originated?" - All of them already say "I don't know"
Evolution explains the diversity of life. It says nothing about its beginning.
"Nthing else makes sense apart from a creator."
Sorry if 2+2=4 doesn't make sense to you without a creator.

@prn72271

God did is not a dishonest answer. I don't know isn't always an honest answer either.
phi223 1 year ago
@phi223 How do you know that god did it?
For thousands of years, literally thousands of years, there hasn't been a single one physical evidence that god did anything at all.
You don't KNOW nobody KNOWS if a god or gods exists. To say that "god did it" is dishonest because you (here's that word again) don't KNOW it exists much less what it did.
Go ahead now and start your game of words about how you KNOW that a god exists. History is not on your side.
AndrianGo 1 year ago
@AndrianGo
There is no evidence that God didn't create the universe either, in fact quite the contrary. My evidence for a creator is the big bang. The big bang implies a beginning to the universe, and as we all know matter neither simply comes into being on its own, so that means some outside force had to (scientifically if you will) cause the event. Before the discovery of the big bang, scientists simply assumed our universe had always been here, much like I believe God has been.
phi223 1 year ago
@phi223 wow what a bunch of incoherent sentences.
(sigh) ok I'll entertain you.
AndrianGo 1 year ago
@AndrianGo
I mean come on, poorly thought out, and makes you look idiotic.
phi223 1 year ago
@phi223
"Which sentences were incoherent"
"I cannot say absolutely without a doubt anyone made the universe true"
Tell me how is "made the universe true" coherent?
"scientists cannot say anything 100% positively about anything"
Math can.
Also the cell theory is just a theory, it is not 100% positive.
"it is my best guess based on the evidence I have compiled."
Your evidence is the cosmological argument. It's an ARGUMENT not EVIDENCE.
Cosmological argument is not far from god of the gaps
