I've got to a point where I almost lost the enthusiasm for pottery. I've had ceramic as a hobby for 15 yrs.
Now, seeing your videos, I believe that it's coming back, thanks!
What I use when I whisk glaze is toiletbrushes. I buy them at IKEA very cheap and keep one brush/bucket. That's of course if the bucket isn't too large.
Feels as though I've just stumbled upon a treasure here. I am looking forward to watching all of the clips and will periodically pinch myself to make sure this is really real. THANK YOU, Simon, for your generous spirit.
Do you glaze your double-bowls similarily to this technique? I cannot invision your technique for the double-bowl due to it being affixed to another bowl, and also with it having a strap handle. Would there be a way to produce a video for glazing double-bowls as well?
Also, I would be very interested to see a video on how you turn plates and platters.
Hi Chuck - the glazing of the double bowl (inside only) is a little more difficult than the ordinary GP bowl. You have to pour in and pour out without glazing the strap handle as well !! learn to be a contortionist...plates I will do soon i think -regards SL
Hi - probably does but its not a problem,in practice. Not quite sure what you mean exactly - but waste is insignificant as I mix my own glazes from raw materials so they are cheap cheap cheap like the soil from your garden ! SL
why dont you glaze the outside of the bowl?

I'd love to hear more about your glazes and how you make them? Also what kind of clay do you use?
Thanks,

Doesn't the glaze get bubbly when you use a whisk?
If you turned the bowls over more, might you not have to "waste"/wipe away so much?
