The False SSJ actually wasnt taken purely from the english dub. The transformation was shown in both. The True Super Saiyan transformation was actually only shown in a japanese commercial, before the episode was finished. The change was decided in post production, too late to redraw/animate the scenes, but not too late to recolor his hair.

His eyes don't change either. And a Ascended Super Saiyan's hair stays just like a normal Super Saiyan.. It just gives him a power spike of energy. Ultra Super Saiyan is above Ascended Super Saiyan and gives Goku bulky muscles and also a power spike in energy.

I like the black SSJ or as known False SSJ since it makes his transformation against Pikon in the world tournament that much more epic. Gives it that feeling that Goku didn't want to show what he was fully capable of infront of Pikon here. Like a taste of his hidden powers you know? So in my opinion I actually like what the English dub did here.

it's just a dub error period. it's also filler anyway. when goku fought the ginyu force his base power level was somewhere between 60,000 and 90,000. when he fought freeza his base power level was like 3 million. this base goku is even stronger. he wouldn't even need to powerup to slap the ginyu force in base.
@keenmachine80 the Daizenshuu and the manga. Upon hearing about how easily goku whooped his team's ass, he made an estimation that goku's power level is around 60,000. using this as a minimum, goku used kaioken times 3 in order to reach the famous power level of 180,000. I said that 90,000 would be his max in base since that would mean using KK X 2, the lowest one he can use. the daizenshuu put goku's base against free at 3mil with the super saiyajin multiplier being 50.
guys the japanes made the mistake not the english dub, the japanese made the mistake of making goku a super sayan wen fighting the ginyu force, something he shouldnt have done. the english only made goku power up with yellow aura. yellow aura and no blond hair doesnt mean anything, he could just have tht wen he powers up
it was a filler and they wanted it to look cool that's all, no mistakes no new super saiyan powers, closest thing to it is the fight he had against slug, which again was made by other people with toriyamas help. when movies are made knowing what the future stories gonna be they sometimes incoporate it into a movie, this also answers the "first" gear second fiasco in One Piece

Basically in the english Dub they wanted Pikkon to be surprised when Goku transformed into SSJ. So they went in and digitally edited Goku's hair and eyes so that he appears to be normal, but they coudln't redo his hair into his normal styling, hence he looks like a SSJ with black hair.

Yo this thing ain't any mistake because if it was a mistake than when goku fought Python and turned ssj phython would not be as suprised in the transformation. Though since goku turned false ssj python was surprised in the otherworldly tournaments when he turned a full super sayain... Duh

anyway it's stup!d that they edited his hair and eyes, he looks a lot coller when SSJ than normal :D

I think in the english dub they were like: "Hey wait a sec. In the Namek saga, didn't goku pwn them without SSJ? Now he's at least 10 times as strong as that.... He doesn't need friggin SSJ. Make the hair black."

goku was probably powering up without being a super saiyan and instead of making the aura gray they made it yellow.

Basically in the english Dub they wanted Pikkon to be surprised when Goku transformed into SSJ. So they went in and digitally edited Goku's hair and eyes so that he appears to be normal, but they coudln't redo his hair into his normal styling, hence he looks like a SSJ with black hair.

@HalcyonSkies another thing is that maybe they thought it wouldn't be needed for goku too turn ssj against the ginyu force i mean he's much much much stronger than them...he could take Frieza in his normal form...

@777Roxen That's quite possible, however I believe he did it to end the fight as quickly as possible. Using your full power from the start means you aren't screwing around. I mean, who wants to spend all day in HFIL? Haha.
