  • She is using short grain rice or long?

  • Francis is so cute

  • Did they actually say that the dog's name is Francis? I've always just assumed it was the narrator's name...

  • @ca1cifer the dog is narrating xD

  • Looks delicious. Making me hungry.

  • parece otimo, só não sei que peixe é esse, parece sardinha.

  • Cool, I have the same rice cooker! =)

  • @ 3:24 is just cute! *^_^*

  • Omg the captions for this video are pricess.

"Next February Tenth cut that carot include four pcs"

"Screamed at my picking mushrooms into small pieces but hands"

"Stress that ginger into things that I think so"

OMG and the rice cooker part

"Okay let's get some my practicum england, basically what's rising to the rice cooker, atwater, granulated kwan would actually, and socialists, makes the agony, let's add to that businesses and mushrooms, pace that finding job, stressed out.... etc

  • can you substitute the kind of fish?

  • @denienec123 of course. like i'm planning on using chicken instead of fish because i can't be bothered with small bones, or cleaning fish. i've tried it before. wasn't pretty. cleaning fish, i mean.

  • @denienec123 This fish is very oily and is similar to a large sardine. You would need to find a similar oily fish. You should be able to find it at your local Japanese/oriental food shop in the freezer. In Japan they cost about 130 yen each.

  • @denienec123 I think Mackeral might work, it's more readily available outside of asia.

  • 4:09 the dog like "ooh noo!"

  • wow this was actually easy to make ^^

  • lol at all you pussies going 'ewww' at cleaning a fish. There's worse shit inside you, just sayin'

  • サンマの変わりに鶏肉を使えますか。 私には料理した魚は調理魚はおいしくないです。 お寿司やお刺身は大丈夫だけど。。。

  • Comment removed

  • @PuppyPhoenix もちろん、OKです! チキンとごぼうの炊き込みご飯は、日本でも定番です!Of course, OK! Rice cooked in chicken and burdock is a standard in Japan!

  • mmm >w< it looks so good!xD i'm going to walmart and getting a rice cooker just to make this!!xDD

  • add some more masenko for seasoning

  • I am unable to make any of these ... but i love seeing this show

  • @dasalekhya Me too! U_U

  • I'm actually not grossed out by this at all. At least it better than her gutting a chicken.

  • OOOOh I'm so hungry T_T

  • GOHAN!! <3

  • i did not know the rice cooker can be used for other foods interesting

  • A bit more kamehameha..

  • All my rice cooker can do is make rice. Not a whole meal!!!!!!!!!!!!! lmao

  • At 2:27 the end product is complete!

I think they made a mistake but who the hell cares?

I just wanna see home cooked food made

  • I love all of these videos. One thing I've noticed, she REALLY loves her green onions. lol

  • Everytime I watch one of their videos I think of cooking mama! XD

  • untill berry combined :D

  • LMFAO i laughed when people comment about the fish. seriously if u bought fish at a market that is precut and scaled and whatnot it would be the same as doing it yourself. someone has to right? and eating fish skin is like eating chicken skin (fried of course because it would be too flabby *shudders*). being chinese gutting the fish isnt as repulsive as it would be to others. but still someone has to do it. why not yourself?

  • If you press the CC icon at the bottom right hand corner of the video and press Transcribe audio, it comes up with abominable captions! lol

  • Is it acceptable to skin the fish? There is something about fish skin that is totally unappealing to me... Maybe it's because it still looks like it's got scales? Anyway, Everything this woman makes is absolutely FABULOUS! I've tried at least 30 of her recipes, and I swear to god, I moutgasm'd with everything! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

  • @Nanankix Well, for example, In Mexico we eat the fish with a 'broth', but the skin isn't removed if you dont want to. I think it's not necessary to put. I agree, this woman is a genius =D

  • She's brilliant! Thanks for sharing the recipe and the video.

  • not that I mind or anything but I noticed that Japanese people just looooove salt... they must have high bloodpresure at an early age huh

  • I made this yesterday for dinner and it was really good! I minced the ginger though and made it easier for me to eat. Totally would make this again! Thanks

  • this looks really good omg

  • that mushroom!! looks so cute!! i want!!

  • I WANT SOME IT LOOK GOOD

  • Mmm. One pot meal. Well, one pot and a little time with another pan. Well, still, rice cookers are awesome.

  • wow, that Sanma looks so tender and delicious.. this dish is reminiscent of kedgeree, which I love. must try it sometime :D

  • I love how no matter what she makes, Francis doesn't budge from his little spot. He never goes anywhere near the food! Why can't all dogs be like that...? v.v

  • @ItachiBeyondNinja21 I am personally surprised when Francis doesn't move. But I never blame him for crying a little.

  • LOL... she wafted the food scent to Francis!!

  • It's too cute .. It sounded like "and place that bitch into a sauce pan" LOL!!!!

  • This looks really good!

  • haha this is the first video where the dog is named Francis :D

  • The way the dog talks if very funny !! :D '' lets have ha preper the dish '' :D

  • are all these ingredients common in japan? i never see most of them here.. i want to be able to go out and easily buy this stuff and make it!

  • @TheRealReasonForDP the last thing he says is they may be hard to find....

  • @TheRealReasonForDP If you have a T&T Supermarket in you rlocal area, go to that, or go to a place that is a Japanese-based Supermarket.

But be forwarned, these ingredients are written in Japanese. In which case it can be made up into two writing systems: Hiragana and Kanji.

    Good luck :).

  • i wish we could buy all fish that fresh here! but most fish we have here are either shockfrosted and transported or local riverfish because we dont live close to the sea :(

  • -3 hahaha

Thank you so much for this!!!! -3

  • this is what we call 'lazy rice' is singapore!!! lol..

  • @SuperSuperkorea hey are u really a korean or just pretending to be one to make japanese and koreans hate each other on purpose? Your name suggests so. If you are a korean, as a fellow korean I feel very ashamed and sad for you.

  • that is either one brave dog, or maybe poodles are too hairy to eat

  • 3:24 - 3:27 SAO CUTE!!

  • hear guys: it's a really great soup. the problem is that not everybody do this correct.

i have japanese parents, and i can make this soup totally delicius.

WENN MAN KEINE AHNUNG HAT, EINFACH MAL FRESSE HALTEN!!

  • Some of these dishes make me sad.... i'm allergic to pork and fish. :/

  • i didnt know fish had red blood... :O

  • @Tahlz4life that is very very sad!!

  • @smy1989 lol i thought it would be like.. blue or something :D

  • @Tahlz4life fish have haemoglobin. with a few deepsea or arctical exceptions that have clear blood. or unless they are very noble royal fish then they might have blue blood ;P

  • @mushnoodle oh ho ho i c what u did thar *monocle falls off*

  • @mushnoodle ahahaha excellent XD

  • Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmy!!

  • omg just made it... tastes sooooo good!.. i wasnt sure about it coz of the ginger but it pretty much melts

  • im guessing the sudachi is a lime?

  • @guyslade it's similar to a lime but considered a little more flavorful. Hard to find outside of Japan, so a lime would be a fine substitute.

  • @guyslade Looks like a Key Lime

  • looks soo great !

    I subscribed (;

  • Wow!! Absolutely a unique rice recipe. Again! Thank you so much, for sharing your scrumptious culinary talents!!!!!

  • The realities of cooking ... :S

  • its only natural to clean and de-gut a fish... how are we suppose to live if we dont know basic cooking skills... right?

  • Dog wasn't too into this one. Dog prefers beef. Very interesting though! I wouldn't want to eat all those fish bones though. ;)

  • Dog wasn't too into this one. Dog prefers beef. Very interesting though!

  • MARRY ME!!!!!

  • i wonder if shes ever like "eww that was nastY" ahahha

  • Thank you for showing me how to cut up the fish! If it wasn't for you and others on the internet i would not know how to prepare fish! Books don't seem to have the info that i need and want.

  • I like all her cooking.

  • not for this dish but like if i was to make riceballs... can i just use a pan to cook the rice or does it have to be in a rice cooker.

  • @moonfanaras you don't need a rice cooker, just a sauce pan will work. depending on the type of rice you are using you'll have to adjust water and cooking time. 1 cup white long grain rice requires, 2 cups water and 20 minutes to cook over medium to medium low heat. Wait for the water to start boiling then add your rice and cover for 20 minutes. Although, very tempting don't take off the lid, your rice will either be uncooked or too sticky. Good Luck!

  • Quite bloody when she's cleaning the fish. I guess that means it's really fresh.

  • most violent cooking thing ive ever seen when u cut the fish o well looks good

  • That must be a really fresh fish. lol!

I'm not a big fan of saury. I don'tlike its bitterness. Is there another fish I can substitute for saury?

  • I think its pathetic that there are so many comments about her cleaning the fish...... the food looks good and thats the most important thing!!!

Im doing this for my dads birthday dinner, i think he will love it!

  • yumm :D

  • Sugoi

  • stylish ricecooker^^

  • Soo o-o I've always wondered,

why is it that they add SAKE?

  • @oishiininja They add sake for the taste =3

  • @KuraiSan3 ohh :3

  • Dear Francis ;) Can you tell me whether one can substitute チキン in place of the sanma? How, then would this recipe be different? Thanks so much.....

  • @onoharahigashi

The most common takikomi gohan uses chicken. Take out sudachi/lime and gingers and replace sanma with chicken.

  • @lostinxlation : thanx.sounds sooo easy....

  • Chop sticks are very easy to cook with. I have cooked fish before when I could not use chop sticks and believe me, you try getting all those fish bones out with fingers and a fork.....its quite difficult. If you do not know how to use chop sticks please learn, they make your life easier.

  • A cooking was more grotesque than I thought.

    --

    調理って、わたしが思っていたよりもグロテスクでした。

  • kitchen paper

  • youre so addictive francis

  • Blood! *faints*

  • @0oRevano0 Gutsy fish lol. :3

  • @0oRevano0 Seriously? Get over it..

  • @iLikeCookie88 Way to go "Typical Youtube Aggressiveness"! ;D

  • @0oRevano0 I don't really see how I was aggressive but ok...

  • omg that looks delicious!!

    i must try it!!

  • meep the guts look so scary >.< oh well... i eat meat so i have to accept that's what it all looks like originally..

  • Is sudachi basically a lime?

  • that was a fresh fish ... :P

  • Where on earth does she get such good quality ingredients? Everywhere where I live sells not so great quality vegetables lol.

  • @zoomshinysnail best to look for a japanese market. our local korean market sells below standard products so we make it a point to travel an additional 30 minutes to the japanese market here in sacramento. SO WORTH IT!

  • can you replace the fish with chicken or other types of meat?

  • @mehero33 You can, but fish lends a much more savory essence to the broth. If you use beef or chicken you may need to ass a bit of hondashi or furikake to add a bit of saltiness to balance.

  • ;o She's pro at cleaning fish, so neat and clean.

  • that fish looks amazingly fresh, wow.

  • Yum :-D

  • that looks so delicious!!!!!!

  • she's realy brave

to actually take the fishes guts out

  • YUMM YUMM Y UMM

  • Seems to be very healthy! :)

  • wow! i never knew you could cook more than rice in a rice cooker! that looks delicious!

  • This is so delicious!cooked this today and its my 3rd time cooking it ! 5*

  • Thank you for all of your great recipes Frances :D

    ありがとうございます。

    おいしそうだよ!!!

  • I'd say It's dried, pulverized fish/seafood that tastes rather salty. Correct me if I'm wrong~~~

  • (@kaitolentino) At least when it is bought in those little bags in stores.

  • Finally went to Japantown and I found it! Thanks a lot!

  • I doubt Westerners are 'disconnected' about their food, they simply don't care and aren't fussy.

  • Omgod! Why did i watch this? It made me so hungry!!!! Am gonna try this for sure!

  • My grandfather goes fishing and he brings back a bunch of trout, he used to cook it with care and it would be SOOOOO delicious.......I remember watching him clean and gut it and him telling me "you see that's how you cook a fish," and him putting it on the fryer and the aroma was so intoxicating, and when it was done, I ate it, and it was SOOOO good I went to bed very happily those nights.......

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~~~~ This is the first video that they made, which contains BLOOD~~~~ ^^_^^

  • I really need to get myself one of those rice cookers!

  • @tehfemo You can get it at China town ^__^

  • mmmm, looks umai! :D

  • Westerners are so disconnected with where their food come from. Obviously someone had to gut, clean and cut those frozen fish fillets you buy at the market. Just imagine what goes on just so you can buy that cellophane wrapped Filet Mignon!
