  • Thanks! I've been out for a while. I fractured my hip and now I'm trying to get back in the swing of things

  • Excellent job my brother. Now you have to upload videos of you training on it. ;^)

  • Thanks bro! I thought about it before, but I kinda want to keep my skills and identity private.(don't want dumb-ass people trying me out in the streets)

  • I may upload some footage of one of my Dummy workouts. They can try me if they want to! LOL

  • For your next mook yan jong, why not make an old school mook, in the ground, old school baby?

  • yea, I want to. Have you seen the kicking tool I put in the ground?!

  • I must say, WELL DONE, and i really mean that. I have watch all your videos on your quest for building your own mook yan jong and after watching the 11th video it's a great achievement, and i am happy for you. I hope you have lots of fun with it and your training makes you a master. Peace.

  • Big thanks for that comment! It becomes a part of you in a way when you put yourself into any work you do. I love my Mook! I see it every day and can't help but to go over and play it. I've been down with a fractured hip, so for right now I just do slow Chi Sao with my bro. Peace

  • Yes, your right, once you have you own mook it's a part of you. You say you have a bad hip, i do Tai Chi as well as Wing Chun, i did so much Tai Chi that i gave myself sciatica in my hips. May be you have got sciatica too?

  • fractured femir(if that's how you spell it)lol

  • Get better soon.

  • that was very inspiring you did a execlent job what a spirit you have godbless

  • thank you. I have a long way to go with my spirit, but I am trying.

  • You've inspired me to go ahead and make my own. Thanks for the show of patience and will power! Now just show us a demonstration of your skills on that bad boy! Peace out!

  • Thanks for the comment. I feel funny about displaying my skills though. I don't want people trying to ambush me on the streets to see how good I am!lol

  • good work man ! ;)

i made one myself as well one time lol

how did you carve the holes for the arms in it ?

  • I used a bore bit and a regular drill. The trick was that for each slot, I had to drill two holes(one on either side and meeting in the middle). Thanks for the comment.

  • nise job. after you drilles the holes did you square them out with a chisle?

  • I sure did. I just squared them out with the chisel and then used some sand paper for smoothing.

  • Damn dude it looks good! Love the music too.

  • Lol! Yea, I thought it would be cool if I had music playing.

  • your wooden dummy cost 1000000 of dollars!

  • haha! not really. Only cost me $50 bucks. I want to make another.

  • thank you . you are my hero

i m tcnician in wt leung ting but

you are a master of will power.

you lose weigt i trust! go man go.

  • LOL! I don't think I've been called hero before!hehe Yea, I'm down with Leung Ting too(a little Gary Lam and others) Losing weight is my next project!haha I have new vids, but I haven't posted them yet.(lazy) Peace bro.

  • Props man. Wish I had the patience to do all that. Hey, what video do you show where you made the arm holes? That looks like the biggest bitch. Thanks,

  • Man, I forget wich one it is!lol The holes were kinda easy, but the bitch was carving those arms out of a 4x4!lol

  • wow good effort man it dont matter how long it takes as long as you finish and now you can practice wing chun alone and best of all it cost virtually bugger all over here in the uk they are from £300 up to around £600 fantastic bro keep practising ;-}

  • That's what I had to tell myself to get it done. I do like being alone, but I need my bro for chi sao(he's getting there). You're better off making you one. That's way too much cash fo pay for one if you can make it yourself.

  • Bro!!! I just sat through 11 videos and we didnt even get a demo.

    Crank us out some skills.

You've def inspired me to give making one a go.

Think ill use a hard wood for the arms the cemicals they put in that timber are nasty!!

Have you done much reserch?Got any tips or websites on where to look for plans or ways of making the leg?

    ##Doggman007, New Zealand##

  • You're my new hero! Congratulations!

  • lol Thanks bro!

  • Looks classy.

  • when people come over to my house, they think I bought it somewhere!lol thanks for the comment. stain and polish might be next.

  • great accomplishment man. I am planning to make one as well. You might want to make sure that green treated wood you used for the arms isnt toxic. That dust can be bad for breathing and you can absorb the chemicals through your skin. I have a tele- pole as well but I also picked up some cut up pine trees from the city. You might get a log for free. Its worth a few phone calls. I was going to look for old baseball bats at garage sales for arms. Any time you put in to sharpening is worth it

  • Hey thanks! my next one will be better. Good luck on yours. let me know it comes out. Peace.

  • wow, I just put mine up on some saw horses yesterday and began sanding. I picked up a bunch of sawdust to mix with wood glue just now so I can fill in the bigger holes. Yours looks good but I like how the bought ones are smooth and shiny. I tossed out the bat idea. I can glue up enough scrap and turn it on a lathe. Just so you know. If you put it on sawhorses you can just roll it along while you sand, dont have to lift so much.

  • just watched your video again and yours looks good just sanded and im tempted to just oil mine and call it good. If your budget is still an issue, you might call your local land fill. Ours has a place where you can pick up used cans of stain, paint and varnish that others couldnt use up. They would wrather have some one use it instead of putting it in the landfill. Again, its worth a phone call.

  • yea, that's true. free is worth making a phone call! I'm training now to loose weight. I think I will put up a vlog showing my progress.

  • ok, last time i comment. As I was saying, I was thinking of just leaving it because it looks cool just sanding and it, but I will continue filling mine just so you we can see how it looks that way. peace

  • I like smooth ones look too.all shiny and stuff!lol mine looks good too. it has an old antique look.

  • great job man, thats realy great, i would like to one day make one myself.

    great videos!!

  • Thanks for the support Jedi! I've been a litle tied up lately but I still train and more vids will get posted. Peace!

  • I'm talking about the part a 03:37 in the upper center part of the shot. that little slit should have a thumbs width space when the arms are push complete laterally.

  • you need to make some space in between where to two dummy arms meet. the space should be about a thumbs distrance. You can do that easily by shaving off alittle from the inside of both arm at the ends (not the tips)

  • Nice work - you did it! Congratulations! Haha! Your offset / hole arrangement is just fine. It makes me smile 'cause now 'ya gotta learn how the form fits in and WHY the muk is the way it is - to start the next little journey!! Next vid I'd like to hear the sounds and see the arm movement and how she bucks (livliness) when you hit it please!

  • Thanks bro for having my back all the way! Now to perfect my Siu Nim Tao!lol Oh, she bucks just fine!hehe once I get it down packed, I will put up another vid. right now I'm doing a 1,000 centerline punches, 500 each of the basic delfections, advancing-side stepping-etc. of footwork. is this ok to start out with or do I need to be doing something else?? what kinda drills did you do in your early classes??

  • yep - pretty much as you say along with forms and lat-sao for every class.

  • HOW THE FUCK DID YOU MAKE A SQUARE HOLE WITHOUT TOOLS?

Also the holes are right but one arm is kinda supposed to sit lower than the other in a "Traditional" jong BUt--they do make em with parallel arm--its personal choice. Your method is a genius one indeed---you did fking sick--now STAIN the fucking thing man! Spend 20 bux for that Polyurethane!

  • Easy! I channeled my Chi and drove two fingers through the dummy!haha Naw, I used my 1 3/8 drill bit and used my chisels to get the holes square. I will be getting the clear for it next week but I will only be staining the arms and stand to match the dummy body, then put clear on everything. thanks for the support! Also, do you study Wing Chun too?? where and wich school do you attend? peace.

  • I study an EXTREMELY very *Rare* style of Wing Chun in Boston. Less than 50 students in the US. It's closed door only (I had to harrass a Master for 2 years to get in! I can't tell you the lineage publicly (dont want no Triads lookin for me lol--it wasnt supposed to leave China rofl).

Anyways, our system has no wooden dummy *Forms*. Just 12 *points* or "seperate hands"[San Sik]--everything is 2 man excercises and we are encouraged to use dummy from day 1.
