  • Can it be done with Fluent?

  • @hazeldarwisya no idea as I've never heard of "Fluent" but if it is general fluid modelling software then it is very likely.

  • @foghlaimeoir Oh.. I mean CFD Fluent.. I think it can be done with either Fluent or CFX. If you know these software, I'd like to ask which one think easier to use to simulate this kind of problem, any of the two or the software you're currently using..for the problem involving stratification due to different density. tq!

  • @hazeldarwisya Unfortunately, I haven't used any commercial package for simulating fluids and so I cannot comment on the usefulness of any. This simulation was done using a research program written in FORTRAN which I added my code to directly.

  • Looks beautiful! Which software did you use?

  • Thanks! It's computed using an early version of PROMETHEUS which was using as a test bed for my own implementation of Roe's approximate Riemann solver (Roe, JCP, 1981, etc...). The visualisation is from my own software using calls to the PGPLOT library.

  • Pretty AND educational. Just like Mrs. Goshert...
