  • yo " u tape up the other design or drawing on the ink side so that when you are going to print it is cleaner and easyier to line up and get it registered correctly ... is it tru or nah

  • @257cks It’s true. Keeping ink off the other design makes it easier to set it up to print when you are ready. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • @CatspitProductions nice and no problem my pleassure

    ...

  • @257cks Thanks for the support! ☠

  • off contact and maybe seepage if ink if you were to use water based ink or process ink

  • @canuckchris2010 I could print this with water based or thinner inks like process. I might just up the mesh count depending on what I am printing. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • so the tape won't peel of when your using the squeegee

  • @azza7717 Ah, the tape will not move if you place it right. Even the piece of paper can be stable so the squeegee doesn’t bother it. That is true. But again not the real reason here. Thanks for taking a shot at the quiz. It is now closed. You can see the answer in the comments and in the video annotations. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • I have actually been using that tip since i heard it from you, you cover the other design on the ink side so when you are going to print it is clean and easy to line up and get it registered. Has been very helpful to me! Very nice video! Thank you for all of them! Keep em coming!

  • @Shbbnn Aha, an excellent student! Thanks for paying such close attention to my videos. You have answered the pop quiz exactly correct. You are only the 3rd person to get a shirt and the only one to hit it dead on. The pop quiz is now closed. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • you're awesome.

  • @hagios9 Nice, thank you! I appreciate the sentiment. Thanks for watching & commenting! ☠

  • Pop Quiz: To keep the ink from clogging the screen.

    Great video btw.

  • @SCRainmaker Thanks! Glad you like the video. While that is true in some cases that’s not the exact reason here. Thanks for answering the quiz and thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • you taped off the crest from the ink side, to keep that particular color of ink out of the stencil.

i know this, because i just made this mistake the other day. i utilized a screen for two images, red on one, and black on the other. and i taped it off on the substrate side. and while i had plenty of room for the ink.... i was setting my squeegie down right onto the image. ugghhh.. had to wash the whole screen before i could use the other side.

thanks a ton for all the vids you do. !!!

  • @jrthomson That is totally true and a very good point. If you need to use 2 different colors of ink that would also be a reason to do this but not the specific reason I am looking for here. There is actually a clue in the video when I line up the first black screen. Thanks for taking a shot at the quiz! And thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • Nice video, I use cross marks (+) on top and bottom of the artwork so I can register the screen in the meddle of the pallet easier. Keep this kind of video coming mi friend, take care !!!

  • @NaTiVoWeB Thank you! Yes, reg marks and cross hairs can be very helpful in many ways. It’s always good to put them in even if you don’t really need them. I guess that’s why I put those giant ones in this art. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • Hi Jon.

Another great video. Keep up the great work.

Also you tape the top of the screen on the artwork your not using

and it saves you cleaning the ink out the screen when it comes to washing the screens out.

From Daniella, - The UK Fan club.

  • @daniellacatton Hey Daniella! Thank you. Always a pleasure to see a comment from you. You make a good point. That is true but what if you need to print that design? Then what would the reason be? How do you like the “Pop Quiz”? LOL… it happened by accident when I made the video. I didn’t plan that…LOL. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • Love the videos, you're a lifesaver for the smaller home-based businesses... The screen is taped on the inside to keep that particular print area's mesh free of ink for a quick change. If it were on the bottom, there would be no ink put on the garment but would saturate the print area from the top.

  • @commsupplyxx Thank you very much! Yes, it is about the ink of course but the specific reason I really do that is what I am looking for here. Thanks for taking a shot at the pop quiz…LOL. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • Blue emulsion screen, not for waterbased, not for plastisol, but the one for solvents right?

  • @x3mhook The color of the emulsion doesn’t necessarily indicate its usage. This is an emulsion for plastisol inks and when post exposed it can be used with water based as well. You can find the Saati emulsions I use on the Catspit website. See the Print Supplies page to get your discount using a Catspit promo code online! Free shipping too! • Can You Do A Vid On How TO Do Heat Transfers On Mouse Pads Or Anything Else

  • @damonthomas88 I could but it’s basically the same thing as a tee shirt, just replace the tee with a mouse pad. Perhaps I’ll do a heat transfer video on things you can transfer sometime. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • To keep the pencil clean. If u put tape on the bottom side the ink and glue will clog it

  • @pukingdeserthobo Thanks for taking a shot at the pop quiz. I appreciate the support. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • reason for taping the inside is for

easier clean up for when you switch to do the front print

  • @nattyjeff Thanks for taking a shot at the pop quiz. I appreciate the support. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • when will we see some paper printing videos for posters, flyers etc.?

  • @kumquatsta I am planning a video on printing corrugated plastic signs on the textile press with an ink that can be used for posters too. It’s a versatile ink so maybe we’ll throw some poster board in the mix. Should be within a month or 2. Stay tuned! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • @CatspitProductions can't wait

  • @kumquatsta Yea, I’ve wanted to do something with air dry inks so being able to do plastic signs and posters at once should be cool. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • Great video, very informative.

  • @darrylhughes Thank you! Thanks for watching and commenting! ☠

  • The crest is taped off on the inside so it doesnt get INK on the design. Which could lead to a mess like dried INK IN THE CREST. tHATS MY EDUCATED GUESS AS A PRINTER. :-)

  • @808SHIRTS On the track but not exactly the reason, thanks for taking a shot at it. I appreciate the support. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
