  • Wow I totally loved your song here. This was awesome control you have on the Tyros 3. Amazing. I would love one day to own one of these keyboards if possible. Awesome thanks.

    Ron!

  • Strange indeed that the chords are not processed in time. Espcially for a new instrument like the Tyros. 3. Der må være en forklaring...

    Men ellers lyder det SUPER!

The Tyros you used looks right out-of-the-box. Maybe faster RAM or a HDD with a faster spin and higher transfer rate might solve the problem. Don't think Tyros' processor is overclockable - might also be looking strange.

  • I don't think that it is a polyphony related problem, more likely a problem with the slow processor.

As far as I know the content is loaded from HDD to RAM, this also explains why it has to load the same things on each power on.

So the HDD speed doesn't really matter.

Slow RAM? I don't think so, as SDRAM is able to tranfer at least 500 MB/s.

It has to be the slow processor.

  • 1/2

Oh.. In my opinion that casts a damning light on Yamaha's premium content. Sounds like a computer unable to handle some MIDI input. Timing is right but some notes are delayed and then played quickly like trying to regain lost time.

There are at least possible causes for this problem: Insufficiant capacity of the processor (s - don't know how much of them are built into the Tyros) or slow or to few RAM.

  • Hello Rune! You did a great job with this song. Here an official reaction from Yamaha Japan:

"Our latest technology voices (SA2, SA, MegaVoice etc.) are made up of many elements which produce a higher quality sound but of course use up more polyphony.

Actually, the example file you sent creates an illusion... The tempo/timing is absolutely solid (90bpm), it is the polyphony being reached which is causing the TG engine to become overloaded causing the skipping effect."

    ....

  • (continued)....

"To reduce the load on the system one suggestion could be to reduce the use of Harmony/Echo when multiple SA/SA2 voices are being used in the voice parts."

  • Thank you (and Yamaha japan) for the explanation :)

  • WAAAOOOOUUUUUAAAAA!!! Awesome and great played!!! The WAOUW Effect is absolutly great!!!!

Respect!!! I have the Tyros 1 and I`m so happy with it!! -)

  • thanks!

  • try this first: switch off one or two tracks of the style and try to play again...I can hear that the style is slowing down !!! (when the voices exceed the polyphony)

    Inform Yamaha

    greets Andy

  • Your performance is very wonderful.

    I was impressed.

  • Good sounds, nicely played !!

  • great song. when you remove the problem with the ram, post this song another, great song!

  • Rigtig godt du! Men så nu og så pillet det plastik af skærmen, det ødelægger keyboardets flotte design

  • Jeg nægter!

Jeg ved at lige så snart jeg piller det af, så sker der et eller andet så jeg fortryder det :)

  • One thing first: GREAT Performance!

Second thing: About your problem: Have you enough RAM installed 512MB or better 1GB? Have you the lastest firmware version installed 1.11? This is very important! I dont have a Tyros 3 but i think this will help you!

  • Yes, you only need 99MB of RAM, I installed 2 x 256 MB

Latest firmware (I don't even think you can install the premium pack without it)

  • I found that in the manual: "PROBLEM: Not all simultaneously played notes

    sound.

Style playback seems to skip when

the keyboard is played. SOLUTION: You are probably exceeding the maximum polyphony of the Tyros3.

The Tyros3 can play up to 128 notes at the same time—including

RIGHT 1/RIGHT 2/RIGHT 3/LEFT Voices, Style, Song, and Multi

Pad notes. When the maximum polyphony is exceeded, the least

important notes (such as soft notes and notes currently decaying) will

    stop sounding first."

  • If that was the case here, the style would have to use 125 voices

Right hand = trio harmony = three voices

  • Thats a heavy load of samples :-) But does other styles work well?

  • Or just use on the right part:

    SuperArticulation! HuhLegato -

SuperArticulation! HuhHahMW I think 3 voices on the right hand are too much remember super articulation use more samples!

  • Yes

Its probably because its 2 voices "in one", its more complex and has to move more data around

  • I think it works you use three voices in the video on the right side! Thilo only use two SA voices on the right ( i think ) without problems.

  • Ronson! Great work! Love the T3 voices. You are an expert at employing them! Keep up the terrific work!

    Randy

  • Ciao Ronson!!!

Not only Beach Boys, but also Adiemus, with your new voices pack!!...:)))

After listened Thilo's version, and Martin Harris' version, also this your performance is very very good!! Bravo!!
