If he would be so determined to kill himself, he would have plenty of opportunities:

- drive his Wheelchair to the next Train Crossing, while being out alone

- drive his Wheelchair beyond the boat mooring, which had no railing

- fly out to Switzerland to die in one of these local hospice's (which also would cause some press for this form of euthanasia)

now that Hazel agreed to help,

- the Writers could get her into Jail for helping Jackson with euthanasia on British Soil... or other offences!

In the scene where you can see Jackson's iPhone screen and he's calling Aaron, does that picture of Danny look like it's taken in the village and that's Cain's car you can see in the background, or do you think it's taken outside of emmerdale studios in Leeds? in my opinion, what is the reason that allows people to kill others is wrong. the weakness of man himself is not able to solve problems and create a variety of reasons for the killing of others to be presumed innocent. there are no people to commit suicide as happy with life.

I don't think Jackson is really all that selfish. He knows the impact his death will have on those around him especially Hazel and Aaron. But his self worth is so far gone that even if a miracle happened and he managed to at least sense touch below his neck, it wouldn't change his mind. As much as I hate the storyline and am disappointed in Jackson's choice, I do think the story needs to be told. It just sucks that it's happening to these two characters I've fallen for.

@Mighthore But this happens in real life you know! In Spain there have been several famous cases of people paralyzed from the neck down having their loved ones helping them to do this. Specially the most known is Ramon Sampedro, who inspired a film called 'The sea inside (Mar adentro)' where Javier Bardem was inmense. And you know? It won lots of awards, including an oscar and without showing juicy kisses... it was enough the love the public felt on the characters for the film to shoot up...

It was nice seeing other clips, they started showing emmerdale on one channel in canada, at the most god awful time so it's not actually watchable. I quite like the other characters, but don't know of anywhere online to watch it all, I hate jumping into shows that aren't from the start, but there's too much to catch up from the start.

Superb episode. The episode & reactions were flawless. I won't say I'm completely happy where all this has gone, but I will say that it has been done very well. The writing can usually use some work, but I thought today's episode was great all around! Pauline was awesome. I love that Aaron's pissed & distant. It seems believable. & I can't really judge. I have no clue what I would want if I were in J's place. And while I want to say I wouldnt assist suicide, who knows when it comes down 2 it!

I think Jackson and Aaron need a few scenes like the ones Jacks and Hazel had today. Love Hazel, but the boys really need some time alone.

Also, when this inevitably ends the way we expect it to, it would be nice to see Aaron and Hazel continue to have a relationship (although knowing Aaron...) It's just such a significant thing to go through with a person and then not have them in your life (or in this case, get written off). Do we know when Pauline's contract ends?

Why is Jackson asking his mother ( of all people ) to help him kill himself ? Does he realize how she's gonna feel like afterwards, unless she decides to make it a joint venture , she'll go crazy with guilt and sorrow. Jackson is acting cowardly , he can drive his wheelchair at will and easily can throw himself infront of a train (irony ) or off a pier into the sea and no one will be able to save him but he needs to have the balls to do it . He doesn't care about Hazel or Aaron only himself .

Where is the therapists? The psychiatrists? The story has become so aimless and selfish. There isn't even an attempt to treat the depression. Death is so final and the fact that the writers and producers of the show make no attempt to direct the characters towards professional help seems irresponsible and foolish. Shame on them.

I didn't like the switch of the story since Jackson's paralysed because I thought that's the end of a happy-ending gay story. However after last few episodes, crying, I picked up the storyline again and got to know that the writer might get something bigger to tell other than a simple gay story: a right to die, which is rarely discussed in any soap i guess. It's a great storyline I think, educated, but not gay any more. The acting is amazing too!

I don't think the writers are gonna kill Jackson, they've led us to believe that, but in the end they will do just the opposite , they'll find a miracle cure for him. After a while Jackson and Aaron will go on a well deserved vacation to some other country and exit Emmerdale for a year or two then they'll be back to make us all suffer again with more drama and perhaps a little bit of happiness. Soaps love to do that .

In the next episode Aaron, Jackson & their trusty chaperon Hazel have killed themselves and gone to Candyland. There no one cares about love, sex, the meaning of life, or the adrenaline rush of skydiving. Instead they all play hopscotch & hide-and-seek (Jackson is magically cured), sing songs, & eat candy.

Is it real? Who cares? Not just the show but life itself is G-rated, & everyone is happy.

I'm starting to get really annoyed at Jackson... I understand how he feels, but he CANNOT ask Hazel or Aaron to do this for him... Not only is this going to destroy them personally, but whoever 'does' the deed is at serious risk of being criminally charged... Hazel and Aaron need to go through EVERY possible channel to help Jackson, get him Psychological help and Counselling first of all. Exhaust all possible options before even considering Assisted Suicide...

I don't know how I feel about this, Hazel has made a decision that is so absolute and final and no matter what else, Jackson's mind still works. I find it so difficult to comprehend that she has agreed, everytime I put myself in her situation it breaks my heart. I feel that it is to early in Jackson's story for her to agree, I can understand that Emmerdale wont want to drag it out for too long but still it makes me feel uncomfortable.

It also seems to say that your life is pointless if you can't move, therefore, you should really sympathize with that person and submit to their wanting to die... and that you should HELP THEM DO IT! This is ridiculous... I mean, I understand Jackson's sense of hopelessness and his despair for what's happened to him, I do...but like someone said below: He's not even seen help! At least where I'm from, if you don't want help and are outwardly expressing thoughts of suicide, you are usually committed or MADE to see a doctor. It's like none of that even exists here. Yes, it's a soap, but they are still portraying a VERY serious subject. The message it sends is that of it being ok to resign (c)

Who is Jackson supposed to live for? Who's life is it? Can Aaron loving Jackson cure him? Does Jackson owe it to Hazel and Aaron to continue to live even though he had no desire to do so?

It's Jackson's life, his body, his decision.

Unless you are refering to the very moment of the death which must be very awful. I felp like depressed for 2 months when my dog died in the vet cos of my decision (he was old and suffering) so I can´t possibly imagine what Aaron and Hazel are going through...

@superxx57 this is a bit nerdy, but Jackson is 21, not 23. He had his 21st birthday on 5th August last year. He also says very clearly to Aaron 'I'm only three years older than you'. Aaron was 18 at the time. The programme made a mistake when he was admitted to hospital and had a nurse say he was a '23 year old male'.

To be accurate - it was never stipulated on the show that it was his 21st birthday - that was just viewer assumption given what was said.

She can't force him to live (despite how much it will hurt her to see him die). She doesn't have to help him. But if she doesn't he'll just find someone else. If he is determined to die, he will find a way. The only person who has to live inside Jackson's head is Jackson, not Aaron, not Hazel.

I don't pretend to know what Jackson is going through, but if he kills himself, he'll be putting Hazel through the same thing. Oh seriously .... he hasn't seen a counsellor, he hasn't had therapy, he hasn't had professional help at all. You'd think they'd at least venture through that kind of route and show it. Even if someone says they don't want to, if you can tell there's a danger you still do it. I saw a therapist despite not wanting to, and was practically forced by my partner at the time, and am glad I did, I could have so easily have gone the wrong route without proper help...this is kinda insulting actually.

I just wish I didn't feel so sick at how fast they're giving up on him, and how little professional help they're depicting. Or, not even little, they're just showing none! It's... almost unfathomable. I just keep watching going "SERIOUSLY!?"
