i have no idea why, but the fans of the MechWarrior franchise hate MechAssault,

other than the lack of customization i think it's still pretty good compared to MechWarrior

They're disappointed due to the fact it is far too arcadey for their tastes. Pretty far flung from the simulator-esque combat of the MechWarrior games.

My preferrred Heavy Mech: The Ymir or the variant of the Ragnorok that features the Lava gun and the Electric weapon. The only major flaw is that it overheats very quickly.

if you didnt know (which i learned eventually) the ragnarok you need to use the trigger for weapon cycle not X because there is no upgrade for it

Light Mech - Cougar

Medium Mech - Uziel

Heavy Mech - Mad Cat

Assault Mech - Obviously Ragnarok

These also count for the 2nd game. Even thru ALLL those new mechs I preferred those four. I'd rather fight a billion Star Adders with those than fight a thousand Star Adders with a Blood Asp or another star adder

Mechassault is a joke compared to MechCommander. Even still, it was a game worth playing.

@Swartztikace I thought MechCommander was more of a strategy game... never played it, but I've got fond memories of the MechWarrior series. MechAssault was the unfortunate stepchild of the franchise, but still good.
