Elvis left not long after this recording, so it's rather haunting, especially when his voice cracks after "when I saw you his arms baby". Tom can sing, nobody can argue that, but Elvis felt every lyric.

Lets not forget Elvis was at a low point in his life and he had lost some of his zest for life ..Elvis loved this song but did it as a nod to tom jones ..Elvis you are the king x

Yes, nice version, and good song for Elvis....if......Tom had never sung it. But Tom did and his power and passion in this song just can't be touched, even by the great Elvis. By the way, they were friends who used to bounce performing ideas off of each other in the late 60's when Elvis was about to start playing Vegas and Tom had already been successful there.

I HAVE TO SAY I THINK HE LOOKED ABSOLUTELY AWESOME IN THE TWO PIECE SUITS HE WAS WEARING IN 1975 . THAT IS WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE WORN WHEN THEY FILMED WHAT WAS TO BE HIS LAST CONCERT. He didn't write the song, Burt Bacharach and Hal David wrote it. It was originally written for the musical Promises Promises in 1968

Lonnie Donegan and a guy called Jim Currie wrote this song way back in the sixties. The Burt Bacharach song of the same title has a totally different melody and lyrics.
