such an awsome scene and romantic build of music when we first see Jack.
the homoerotic undertones in this movie are so well done by the leads, its not sex ( though hart is very sexy ) its all about supressed attraction and the almost tender relationship they have which becomes brutal due to a bizzaire love.
im never sure if Jack is gay, bisexual or just uses his looks manipulate anyone, even if its cruising for a man to have sex then kill him! he could have just killed him.
I had a friend named Jack who was alot like Jack in the movie. Even though I'm mostly heterosexual, I found myself in love with him. I miss him every day. Like jack in the movie, he freed me from my constant worry like Adrian in the movie.

Colin's character is painful to watch. There're all sorts of gestures and expressions that broke my heart just watching him. And I was like.. yikes, give the guy his shirts back! Why are you clinging to them so creepily?? He's an awesome actor, is CF.
@cghu007 i agree. colin does the painfully awkward really well, that it actually makes the audience uncomfortable to watch. his acting makes me wanna tell the other dude, "stop making poor colin feel so uncomfortable! give him a break" lol hes a truly talented actor
If you see it with a great sound system you'll discover another deeper layer. Here with his mother you can hear at the distance a cuckoo, not a clock, the bird. It is full of great details like that.
The acting in this film is over the top; both Firth and Bochner, and supporting actors as well. Tour de force. One of my favorite dramas of all time.

The way he interacts with his mother is odd, no man would grope his mother like this. Especially at 01:14 when he rests his arm across her bosom.
