  • We haven't used our slow cooker in such a long time. We recently got a Flavor Wave, and have been using it obsessively. It's kind of the opposite of a slow cooker, and it's amazing. There's nothing quite like a nice stew or pot roast that's been slow cooking all day though. So delicious. Now I'm hungry :)

  • @Jimplicit I'm just learning how to use a slow cooker - I've just never been into it. I chose not to keep this book because it's full of recipes from mixes and canned foods and I just don't care for that sort of food. A lot of people like it though so why not share? Besides which her story is intriguing and a lot of people would get into that. You're so right - good food cooked well at the end of a long day is just awesome!

  • I do some slow cooking so I would be interested in it. I don't have an interesting story except I like cookbooks.

  • @susankim51 :) That works for me - your name is in! :)

  • I think that you should open it AND give away.. no harm in flipping through to see if there are 1-2 that suit your family's needs! Whenever you talk about "quick and easy" you will more times than not end up with LOTS of prepacked, very unhealthy things put together. We try out hardest about 5 days of the week to eat fairly healthy foods that use pretty basic stuff but we also experiment and cheat on the weekends as well. Then of course we have to have our local stuff haha

  • @CookingAndCrafting Interesting - maybe I'll do that and video a recipe. But really, butter buds? Ugh. Thanks - and you're right - once or twice a week is not a bad thing. Still better than fast food! Your local stuff makes me drool!!!!!! Some day I'll knock on your door and say 'trick or treat''! LOL.

  • I simply love that cook book... but I have collected cookbooks from all around the world.

  • @sunsetlover Then what's one more? Your name is on the list. Drawing next Wednesday night.

  • I have surveyed my qualities and there is not one good reason You should give anything to Me so I will check for one on Ebay. Not worthy of your kindness

  • @justrick48 That was such a great comment that I must put your name into the pot! Best comment of the day!! Thanks Rick.

  • Liz I do not even own a slow cooker and here's why. When James and I first got married he and I both worked day shift and almost every morning I would load something up in my slow cooker so when we got home it didn't take me much to have dinner fixed. Well James made the comment one day, "Do you always have to cook in that thing". That was the last day it got cooked in. Almost 34 years ago. He's regretted he said it. He's been on me for years to get another but you know, I'm stubborn...

  • Can you believe that?! haha. Well I am. When we moved into the house it stayed right there in the trailer kitchen cabinet for the next young wife to use. Maybe if I had neato slow cooker cook book I'd try my hand at it again. I'd have to get a slow cooker though. HA! That's my story! Teehee. Hugs Lady!

  • @imperceptibleme LOL! Yeah, I remember the story and love it. I should send you the book to tease him with. I'll put your name on the list cuz that would be really fun. :) It's up to 12 entrants now, so your chances aren't bad really! :)

  • I have my son here who is a bril cook...! Nice video Liz...

  • @Poemsapennyeach Do you really? So do I - my son lives with us and these days cooks all our suppers. It's a lovely thing to walk in the door to a freshly made meal. Thanks for watching! Oh - if I misunderstood and you'd like to be in the drawing, please let me know - your comment sounded as though you don't need it.

  • @thizizliz What do you mean Liz...i must have missed that..?? I can be very dim at times...did you mean to add me to the hat pic...? Sorry...if my comment seemed something...I never mean these things...am just vague...and well...dim...as I said..!! lol

  • @xyzllii I meant do you want me to put your name into the drawing.... But if you also want your photo to have a pink hat, let me know and I'll ask the guy who did mine! :)

  • @thizizliz Ah...at LAST I get it...yes do ...if you want...lovely...that would be nice...thanks..and don't worry about the red hat if it is too difficult...you are up late !!

  • @xyzllii I don't have the skilz to do that pic, but I did send a request to the guy who does. It is fun, isn't it? I was up til about 11 or so I think. LOL - some times I just stay up for an hour of solitude! :)

  • I like that you looked up the author's story, interesting.

Already have several slow cooker cookbooks so I will give someone else a chance.

Kind of you to do this Liz

  • @yoyomax12 Tammy, it was fascinating and made me think that others would appreciate it. Thanks for watching - I'll leave your name out of the drawing. :)

  • Interesting!!! I love slow cooking, I don't need the book though.... but I think it's a great idea for a give-away... how awesome!!!

  • @Jinxie228 Thank you. It is a fascinating story too.

  • I really don't need it Liz, so leave me out of the draw but what an interesting tale about the author

  • @twish1999 *grin* Cool - let's hope it goes to someone who really wants it. Yeah - it was a great story. Now that he's gone she still has a career. Not as bad as if she hadn't had a way to support herself or her girls. He built that house and she desperately wanted to save it for the daughters - you know, the house that daddy built. Thank you friend!

  • I always liked the slow cooker.

  • @SugarInHisBlood Do you want to be in the contest? I'd be happy to add you to the list. Thanks for watching regardless. :)

  • I'm not entering the drawing; I've got enough cookbooks. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. Hope you had a great week. Great story about that cookbook.

  • @familymatters1234 Thank you - yes, this author really strikes me as someone you'd like and admire. I thought of you as I read her 'about me' online. Can't really say why, but I did. Thanks for watching!

  • I need to find something like that for my nephew, he is 19 and living in his first apartment and eating ramen noodles every day. I am interested fro sho!

  • @1DRock37167 Okay, you're in! :) Good luck!

  • Because I could make a couple videos out to this :)

  • @freitasex Good enough reason! You're on the list then! Thanks for watching. :)

  • This would be a cool book to have. I love cooking but sometimes it is good to just relax and let the slow cooker going right!!

  • @COOLIKEDATAZIAN Then you're in Jason! :)

  • Would love to win this book because with my twins and baby, I don't have time to cook. I am always hunting for good show cooking recipes online.

  • @ThePJmommy Holy smokes - simple is best! :) Your name is in - thank you for watching.

  • Why do would I like to win this book? Because I don't cook. It would be nice to be able to give Pat a night off from cooking. If I can just dump stuff into a pot, it sounds easy.

Yeah. We don't cook with anything with extra salt. Patrick can only consume 1200mg of sodium a day (or half what the daily recommendation is...) But, I ingredients could be modified! Cool. A Contest! - roc

  • @popparoc46 Ooh, if you use it, would you do a video? Your name is in the pot!

  • That's an interesting story about this book and it's beginnings. Women always come up with the best ideas to bring income into the house! I will pass on the book since crockpot dinners make enough for 4-6 and there is only me here! Nice idea Liz!

  • @wildheart5 Thanks Barb, I understand. Thanks for watching! :)

  • I have used my crock pot for years..(can't remember how many I have had to buy) but I am always eager to try something different. I would love to win the book. Sort of a sad/great story about how she made money to save him. Sounds like someone I would like to know. Thanks for the vid and the giveaway.

  • @trvlbuggy Hi! :) Thanks so much - your name is in the pot. Great comment too; I appreciate it.

  • Thanks Liz! I use my slow cooker once or twice a week since it's so hot down here in the swamp. Even with AC the kitchen gets so hot when I'm cooking. My stove is over 30yrs old and only 3 of the 4 burners work!! Would love to enter the drawing.

    Jo

  • @jcrefasi1 Thank you Jo - yes, that makes perfect sense. I'd use it too in that situation. Your name is in the pot! Thanks for watching.

  • Great video and offer... not really needing the book but thought I would at least say hi and I was watching you... much love to you Gary, and Dev

  • @Ishkiia Hi Ish! :) Thank you dear. I'll give them your message. I'm loving your NGU vids.

  • I am getting reacquainted with my crock pot and am loving it. I put meat and stuff in, turn it on and when it's dinner time, I just make a salad and dinner is ready!! Love the convenience and everything I cook in there is sooooo good! I don't mind using Campbells soup in my recipes so yeah, put me in for the drawing.. I need some new recipes! LOL Most times you can change them up if you don't like an ingredient or two.. :))

  • @mysteryglo Hi Judy! Your name is in for sure. Cool. I was very pleased to be given this book and have the chance to share it.

  • Very kind of you to give this away! :) I'm with you...I'm very much a "shop the outer aisles of the store" shopper and try not to buy too many pre-packages/processed items. Good luck to all that are interested!!

  • @IWalk4tnt Thanks Sandy - I totally get it. We should be bone thin then, right? Well, at least we're healthier anyway. Hugs.

  • I think it would be great to win it especially since both elements went out in my oven! Yep same day...lol

  • @pjspassions Oh no!!!! Okay, you're in. Goodness. I'll draw names next wednesday.

  • I'd totally want to win it... if I didn't burn Pop Tarts like I do. :P

  • @boomrsoonrupinyoze LOL! So, you want to be in the drawing to give it to someone else to cook for you? I'll draw names next wednesday.

  • @thizizliz I think everybody will be too far away to cook for me... I'm moving to Germany. :P

  • @boomrsoonrupinyoze Wow - exciting times! Germany can be a great place to live - I've only visited, but know several people who have lived there. Wow. I hope you'll be making videos from there.
