  • @tahliasdad1 ..Yes, it certainly was.

  • The ol' Tumbles are supporting Kyuss in Sydney this weekend at Luna Park's Bigtop... yep...Kyuss and Tumbleweed... I'm gunna be peakin for weeks woohoo

  • ah fuck yeah, good ol stoner rock. They really don't make music like this anymore...

  • When I was learning guitar this was one of the first songs I figured out by ear, fucking classic.

  • i have clear recollections ( ok acid hazy) of them at Livid at west end before helmet and the beastie boys headlined - the boys were brilliant ..needed physio for weeks after that day

  • @gavmeg711 I remember that too. Check the Tumbleweed facebook page, there is a great photo taken from the stage that day

  • guaranteed these dudes are from Dapto

  • If we say crazy Mary five times in the mirror will she come get us?

Or maybe say Tumbleweed five times and they do a show in the back shed?

    fuck yes tumbleweed!

  • woooohoooooo bring on the renaissance of the Weed!!

  • the weed definitely had some sick songs.

  • Best Aussie band EVER!!

  • Tumbleweed are reforming for Homebake! And...

"The reformed line-up will play a number of shows as a warm-up for the Homebake show. The band hasn't discussed recording any new material but they haven't ruled it out either."

  • i wanna go see one of there warm up shows!

i'm not paying that much to go see homebake with too many shite bands. :P.

  • Yeah I'm not going just for them either. That line about warm-up shows was removed from the article a few hours after I copied it - the Homebake contract says they can't play a few months either side of it - but I'm keeping my eyes open.

  • where did you hear this info?

I can oly hope it's gonna happen..

    BRING BACK THE WEED!!!!!!!!!

  • still one of my fav live bands... where did they go!!

  • love the Sabbath inspired clip reminded me of Paranoid ....................... seen these guys play and since the days then ....great blokes

  • I love the big fuzzy ound of the weed.

the last 3 chords are the best!

  • BRING BACK THE WEED!!

'the sun, it shines' - J Curly.

  • my fave gig the weed did was @ the burland community hall in newtown when they were joined with the meanies at the end and did "god gave rock and roll to you" ! also seeing em do interstelar overdrive was quite a gas :-)

  • Had a funny/strange encounter with Tumbleweed and one of their groupies in Perth during and after one of their gigs -- they had to come by our digs and reclaim her!

  • now i feel like im at the barwon club.

  • I live in Geelong too!

  • Shit yeah! Then on to the nash

  • The weed rocked!! Saw these guys live so many times as a kid...

... that riff man... it always makes me feel good

  • They were awesome... but came just too late for grunge and had split by the time stoner became popular.

My Best Gig of All Time was with these guys at Headlands Hotel in Austinmer.

  • ha ha

  • Big Day Out. Sydney. 1995. Does anyone else remember the fans 'stage diving' off the lamp posts (that would be lamp post diving wouldnt it??) that must've been about 3 or 4 metres above crowd level? Until one of the light fittings broke off and fell into the crowd......

  • i was there that day...........

  • high watermark....yeah yeah totally, so much better than ac/dc

  • love the ending from about the three minute mark....Lenny looks the JAZZ!!!

  • Have been jamming with some friends and tried this song from memory - after some aborted attempts with tunings - with the miracle of modern communication tech, we 'tubed the vid and all fell into a big "best gigs ever" discussion instead. Again, thanks for the post, CrazyMary. Oh, we did eventually figure out the tuning and riffs - after a few more beers an' cones, etc ;-)

  • LOVE this song! What ever happened to these cunts? They are actually one of the decent bands to come from Australia. (the other band being The Mavis's)

  • For anyone interested the square image is the old Wollongong council building in Coniston.

  • Interesting, I lived in Coniston for a few years but I didn't know that!

  • Thanks CrazyMary, this is great! Just stumbled across while looking up old bands I'd seen by keying in the band name from the old ticket stub!

Loved Tumbleweed, a high water mark in oz rock.

  • That's awesome, they must be some pretty old ticket stubs! Only caught them live once but that memory's lasted me 15 years, so they must have been alright.

Hope you make some other good re-discoveries :D

  • Thanks for making it possible for a wog to see a Tumbleweed video after so many years.

    Are they still together?

  • They're not, but members have wound up in other bands - The Pink Fits, Richie and the Creeps, The Unheard...check out the comments further down for a bit of info :)

  • Cheers Mary, thats just mint. Last time I saw them was their final trip up here at Maroochydore with Screamfeeder and a local band, Chin. Fuck-ups galore and Weed didnt come on til like 2am....but what a gig. How about a petition to get a tour for them, the Meanies, Hard-Ons and Bris legends Blowhard? haha How chaotic would that be? Onya mate.

  • crazymary, ive been waiting to see these vids for so long. I can still remember seeing them at the zoo at long jetty on the nsw central coast with bands like def fx, meanies, etc. Brings back good memories. I also just found swervedrivers, mustang ford, wish id had the hindsight to record some of it.

  • i love hearing this song when im stoned

  • love this song

  • i love this song

  • I think he also alternates between 'hear' and 'fear' in the 'Doobie Do' section

Always wished they'd included lyrics with their cd's! Awesome song - Unforgettable band!!

  • I pretty sure they did on their first EP

  • I always heard:

The spider spins its web, She spins the Daddy Long Legs, She hangs above my bed, Eight-legged acrobatic, Mosquito fills her net, Caught up within its splendour, It hangs above my bed, As I lie back and wonder

There is no accident, The spider has its reason, It holds a sacrament, Just like the changin' season, As in the spider web, Each strand a magnum opus, Designed to stand the test, Everything has its purpose

  • Thanks rezzuc, I finally got around to updating it. Your magnum opus line is genious!

  • The unheard have 'released' a cd with some live rehearsal songs on them... By 'released' i mean, thrown out for free at their gigs.

    They're great Rock n Roll / R&B stuff.

  • "everything" has its purpose... that's the only other one i could get.

If you like these guys, Check out The Pink Fits and The Unheard... got a guy or two from tumbleweed... personally i reckon they've improved with age. Both bands are amazing.

  • Thanks man, I'm on the road at an internet cafe so I hope I slotted the line into the right place.

I have an Unheard demo from back beyond the Weed days but haven't listened to the more recent stuff - should give it a go.

  • fucken unreal!!!

  • aweseome!!
