Every time I watch this video I have to sift through a hundred other Todd Snider vids like a needle in a haystack. This is so unlike the hyperanalytical, skeptical, independent Todd Snider that comes through in all his other songs. And yet he just nails it to the wall. I guess that's why I look for it. It's actually some of his strongest singing.
That is the great thing about Jesus, he loves us all the same. He knows all our hearts and loves us anyway. He came to save us all not send us to Hell, he came because we all need him. He even said if your well what do you need a physician for. God is great!

@kwittnebel remember this came out on Viva Satellite a gabillion years ago in 2000
before he established the persona you describe.
I met him after a show once when he was touring on VS & a budding cult hero.
He was totally cool and gracious, drank beers with us for half an hour
& gave us signed copies of VS on cd.
I wish he'd reunite with the Nervous Wrecks and do some full-band electric shows.
