  • It's actually a good thing if you land/take off flatfooted, because if you land or take off up on your toes (in releve) you can tear leg muscles.

    i have tried to do them so many times but it isnt working out for me lol is there any other tips you good give me??

  • try practicing just your jumping to get more air so you can have space to do the leg work, flex your abs hard to get more lift, and then repeat repeat repeat to build muscle memory. Take it slowly with working on learning it, and remember that it won't happen over night. It takes a long time to see improvement on some moves. Also try doing leg lifts and hamstring curls(a calf lift on the back leg could be added for extra challenge) to build up the strength on the inner thigh. Hope it helps!!!

  • I learned to do them by first getting used to the motion by lying on my back and practicing the motion, then I stood inbetween two chairs with weights on them so they wouldn't tip and I practiced by pushing myself up with my arms as high as I could go and doing it slowly, then I would just practice doing the jump by doing 15 in a row on each foot (not with 123s or skips just strait cycles)and THEN try puting them in the step. Thats how I learn all difficult jumps. Hope it helps!!!

  • thankz for the advice melsoft. i will try and do that and see if it works. I have about 10 bicycle jumps in my reel and slip jig, and i have found them really difficult. so to cover for it until i knew how to do them was just a hop for me and my dance teacher would practise with me and i would never know how to do it. thankz for the advice. I will try that later on.

  • Butterflies are cross keys done in a jump. The bicycle is a new move in the last 5 or 6 years.
