  • they are not explosives

  • I dont quite understand it... They bought titanic back up by exploding some explosives underneath her? WTF?

  • Iz just layin thereMOVE ya Bast'rd MUV!

  • it's 30 pounds of explosives, they didn't follow the book thuroughly. no wonder the movie was a flop

  • No wonder this movie plopped. THe acting is terrific, the shooting and camera work are top notch. The special effects hold up beautifully even now. And of course, the soundtrack by The Most Exalted Great John Barry is magnificent. But the pacing and the ridiculous premise sunk this flick.

  • LOL at the 'cutting edge' computer graphics of 1980! at 06:55

I loved movies back then ... Even this POS is better than Michael Bay's wretchedness ..

  • Why use Hydazine that stuff is super toxic why not just use Hydrogen or Helium?

  • I have heard that figure or near that on several Titanic documentaries. Nobody of course can be certain.

  • Rapid decompression would have killed the guys in the sub.

  • @1958Antimatter No. If the sub was completely filled with water and the pressure was equal to that of the water outside then yes. But the pressure inside the sub was a set pressure. The walls of the sub could hold the 2000 psi of the water. So no. They'd survive alright.

  • Clive Cussler is the best writter in the world

  • I am going to have to admit that I went and saw this in the theatre back in 1980. Always did like it. Why not Raise the Bismark? LOL

  • @clanmacduff mabe a bit hard the ship has the locks uoen maked the ship sunk

the bismark whas sunk by its crew

  • @davvvvo the bismark was not sunk by its crew

  • @KB1PTH the bismark's superstructure was completely destroyed but damage to the hull below the waterline was not confirmed. the surviving crew claimed they scuttled it.

  • @kailmek King George V and the Rodney were firing on the Bismarck from less than a mile away which for a battleship is like point-blank range and in the end the royal navy had to use torpedoes to sink the bismarck as King George V and Rodney were running out shells.

  • @pgh1987 Your reply touches nothing about the critical part of my post, and the discovery of the wreckage confirms it. The Bismark had no penetrating holes below the waterline, and further the lack of hull deformation kills the theory that the English sunk the Bismark; rather the lack of deformation is what happens with a deliberately scuttled ship.

Sorry. The crew scuttled their own boat.

  • I don't really care for the guy who plays the leading role in this movie! For some reason he gets on my nerves.

  • I forget how long it takes to submerge descend down to the Titanic I think its within a few hours and another few or so hours to place the charges and another few hours to ascend back to the surface.

Guess what? The crew in deep-quest is now dead because more than 6 hours have passed. It’s not possible with the manpower they have because no matter how many you have its still a slow ride down you can’t just drop down like an anchor.

  • Bob Ballerd regrets finding it. He was on a mission for the DoD and the cover story was looking for Titanic. But he ended up doing it. Also in the book the first thing they find is a boiler. IRL they also find a boiler first.

  • At 5:13 it sounds like the guy who is counting down says "12, 9, 10, 9...."

  • I wonder if had this really happened in 1980 if the survivors would be pissed or happy. Because Millvina Dean said she didn't like people going down to explore titanic because she felt they were "lurking around on many people's graves including her father".

  • Wow! Wouldn't it be something if it had stayed in one piece and this could really happen...

  • Since almost the whole bow is blown of just ahead of the electric cranes on the Brittanic that is not possible. That section has to be cut away before raising Brittanic or it will just crack and fall away and be raised by it´s own.

  • Is resurfacing is possible in practical like these?

  • Well not really, build a large floating barge that can be lowered under Brittanic when she is close to the surface and the problem is solved. Their are that type of barges around the world already but not just any that big. Just make it bigger.

  • @Sooksawaspakdee961 could you not simply weld a patch on the hull and pump it out using wet steel to hold it in place?

  • Titanic today not far away from collapse due to all the corrotion. Why not try to raise her sister Brittanic who is in far more better shape and in more shallow water. Forget Titanic, she would just fall to pieces a few feet from the seabed.

  • @Sooksawaspakdee961 Only problem is that the Britannic is on its side and has a huge hole in it made from a torpedo or a mine and it would be difficult to say the least to get it to float to a large port

  • In this film are they raising the real titanic or is it a fake one? ://

  • @DJClaudiaEMO Fake duh. You think the titanic looks like that? And is so clean. The real titanic looks like shit because it's been underwater for over 90 years.

  • @bobywade517 Well duhhh i was only fuckin askin i no it would look like that bcuz its a rusty piece of shit now so now that i watched the film i no so THERE!

  • @DJClaudiaEMO

Wish it was real, but alas, not the case. The real Titanic is too frail to be lifted like that.

  • I think it would have been cool to raise the Titanic. But even if she was raise, how do we know she'll covent to a hotel & not scrapped like Olympic?

  • @SuperTitanicfreak It broke into 2 pieces when it sank and both parts got smashed when she hit the bottom at probably 100 MPH

  • @jvarela965 was more like 25 - 30 mph

  • @jvarela965 where do you get 100 mph? substantiate please.

  • @SuperTitanicfreak parts of her have been raised - a large sectioin of hull, about 20 x 30 ft, plus all the artifacts... i guess that counts. i went to the Titanic exhibition when it was here in my town and they had one of the bells whistles, was huge, about 5 feet long. i know i wasnt suppose to but i reached out and put my hand on it - to actually touch the Titanic

  • this probably would have been possible if it sank the way it did in the movie

  • @rageje27318en2d8 Thay found the back of Titanic a long time ago in 2000. But I agree it would not float. Unsikible? Unfloatable.

  • Bob Ballard discovered the stern of the Titanic during his second trip to the wreck. in 1986.

  • Bob Ballard discovered the stern of the Titanic during his second trip to the wreck. in 1986.

  • why oh why could they not do this in real life?!

    it would be amazing

    but she'd fall apart

  • they cant rise it in RL cuz its apart cant find both pieces and rais it lol i want that too but IMPOSSIBLE :( only in movies

  • i know

    i'm just saying

  • @ragesje27318en2d8 they have found both pieces. they can't raise it because it is apart and because it would disintegrate as soon as it hit the surface.

  • why it would disintegrate cuz its old? :( DAMN we have mutha fuckin awesome tehnology lol

i whish they make new titanic and this time it couldnt sink lol :D

  • Yes. Because it is so old it would become destoryed as it made it's way to the surface. Also the wreck is not stable because of all the coorosion and sea creatures that have been eating away at it.

  • @TheHiphopjoe but you can take it up in peices and recontruct and refurbish it but it would dammage all the sea life that has taken residance there

  • The only problem is because of how old Titanic is and because of how cold the Atlantic is as soon as it hit the surface it would disintegrate because of the sudden change in temperature.
