The head is all wrong on the finished cut. It should be round not angular. Plus stripping is better than clipping, as it doesn't damage the fur.
Clipping tends to remove the outer wire coat that makes the westie's coat waterproof, and it leaves it silky and smooth, but the dog gets wet in downpours. Many westies have skin conditions and those that don't can develop them if they're bathed too often. Once or twice a year is ample bathing for westies.
Have to disagree with much of what you have said. If you're showing Westies, then by all means strip the coat. For a pet, there is no reason for stripping. We groom many Westies and have not seen any evidence of skin conditions from over-bating or shaving. I do agree about the finished product. The head is incorrect. Why would you
scissor the legs before finishing the torso? (if you're wondering about credential, We are a platinum award winning shop serving our area for 26 yrs.)
I have noticed that you have placed the same comment to many Westie Clips. I suggest you take it up with City & Guilds or the UPA rather than just repeating yourself with no explanation. POINTLESS DON'T YOU THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
