As. It sais in the bible.the closer to the end the evil will get more evil and the righteous will become more righteous.this song is a perfect example of that.today's society and out generation gets everything through the mainstream media.from music to tv. And our society today is more advanced and evil than ever.
1 We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For He says: “ In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”[a] Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
Those were some awesome men. We need men like that in congress again. They would turn over in their graves if they could see what has happen. May the Lord, Jesus Christ, help us
All of us feel we love something, love of a nation, love of a person, love of god..! We have abused the word LOVE so greatly. Love is not an IDEA. Love of god is an IDEA, love of a SYMBOL is still an IDEA. When you go to church and pray, you are really worshipping something which THOUGHT has created. So see what is happening. THOUGHT has created it -actually this is fact- and you worship that IDEA which THOUGHT has created; which means you are worshipping, in a very subtle way, yourself.
Who created thought? Why do we have the ability to think? It is because of God we even have the ability to think, and worship... God created us to worship so if we don't worship the one that created us then we end up worshiping something that is less worthy. God is Love and life. This is not a thought but a fact.
I agree with most of what you say. But without the idea to support what God is, there would still be Life and there would still be Love. There is no need to "believe" that "God is life" and that "God is love". Life is. Love is. You are attaching an idea (God) to something that is already there (life + love). We worship this idea of "God" because we are afraid, because there is no love in our hearts. We do not worship "life+love" i'm afraid. We worship God and that is the problem.
fact- The Bible is the most read and printed book in recorded history.
fact-The star of Bethlehem has been proven to be a real event thanks to our ability to go back in time with computer software. (The Bible was correct when it said that the star stopped over the town of Bethlehem )
fact- If I see a piece of art on a wall and say to you that it got their over the natural course of time would you not think me mad? Why do you then not think that you are a "fact" for Gods very existence?
actually he is right. religion is only mentioned twice in the constitution. first amendment and under article 6 section 3. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion". which means 2 things 1.) No state religion. 2.) No religion gets preferance over another. Article 6 states that there will be no test of religion for elected officials. As far as the founding fathers goes they were secularists. i am running out of space so i'll go into that on the next comment.
We do not need god in America again. That would be a violations of the constitution, church and state need to be separated. Not everyone in this country are Christians you know? Not to mention many of our founding fathers didn't believe in god.
We already have too much god in America as it is. Give me a break! If we put more God in America we'll end up being a fucking theocracy. The Ten Commandments would be out constitution. Gays would be executed, adulterers too! We don't need anymore Gawd in America.
We need God in America again? When was he ever here Was it when we were slaughtering Native Americans? Was it when we were kidnapping Africans and brutally enslaving them? Or was it when we were locking people up for speaking their mind? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, but it was never a Christian nation The mindset this video inspires is a very dangerous mindset to the church and the nation. And If the video poster is a Christian, why is she so rude to commenters?
.........You can't make fun of people, hurt their feelings, malign their intelligence, and then say "God bless you" and expect that it negates the unloving act you've just committed. Sorry, it just doesn't work that way.
Hello djshybaby. Poor nogogma and the other atheists get so amazingly upset by our beliefs don't they? I find it so sad. We do not call them or their beliefs demeaning names and yet they cannot express themselves without resorting to such childish tactics. We do not hold rallies urging our government to make laws prohibiting atheists from expressing their beliefs and yet they never cease attacking our rights to express ours. If Christians are idiots why do atheists need protection from us?
We already have to much God in America as it is. It never ceases to amaze me at how much fundamentalists bitch and moan so much about this. It's pathetic. We have god on our money, god in the pledge, churches in every community and we have the highest crime rate in the entire world. Nations without God have much lower crime rates than we do. What America needs is less God. The God idea is anti-reason and anti-intellectual, anti-science. The God idea is pro idiocy.
I have a great idea nikt374 and nogoma.....why don't you both move to another country where they do not have God on their money, pledge, or communities. In fact...there are countries that have no God and no churches or other places of worship. Why don't you move there so we all can be happy? We can worship God here and you can do whatever it is you do there. :-D
God was added to the pledge in 1954 during the communist scare. God was added to money in 1957. I personally wouldn't move out from America, because there is much more to it than just Christianity, as we're not really a theocracy. I would stay for things like our innovative peoples, pragmatic philosophies, or right to freedom of religion for example :-)
To nogogma and gumpy. WoW...how angry you both are!! Why?? You all have your abortion clinics, your gay bars, your filthy prime time television shows, your filthy violent music and video games, the 10 commandments removed from the courthouse walls, the pledge and prayers removed from our schools, and even nativity scenes removed from public views, It seems to me you all are winning the war against religion. All I did was voice my opinion,,,or don't you believe in freedom of speech for all?
You ever hear of Separation of Church and State? Prayer has no place in public schools, the Ten C's don't belong in court rooms, and your stupid little nativity scenes don't belong on public property that paid for with tax payer dollars. Keep those things in front of your homes and your churches. And what are you bitchinng about anyway? You still have God on our money and in the pledge. So quite your whining fundy.
I'm not whining at all nogogma. In fact, it sounds like I'm much happier than YOU are. Don't worry....maybe someday YOU can be happy too. God bless you and have a great day. :-)
I don't see how you can be happy following a religion that is anti-woman. Actually I am happier now that i've been totally emancipated from the superstitions of Xtianity. You sound very condescending too. As if only Christians are the happiest people in the world. Actually they're the most deluded. Anybody who believes humans lived to 900 years old can only be gullible.
Anti-woman? ROFL! The extremely low status that the Greek, Roman, and Jewish woman had for centuries was radically affected by the appearance of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:25-31 directs men to honor and respect their wives. I could cite more but I am limited here. Bottom line nogoma is this...I posted a video stating my beliefs and YOU attacked ME. You continue your attack just because I believe in God. Why does that anger you so much? I didn't attack you because of your beliefs. .
Oh give me a break eh? It's so typical with you fundies. When your religion and faith is challenged and refuted it's always an "attack". I didn't attack you. I refuted you. Christianity is repugnant, harmful and it is a farce. And you need to read you bible a little closer. It is very macho and anti-woman. Misogyny is fundamental to the basic teachings of Xtianity. You need go further with Eph 5, try verses 22-23 and other passages in the bible. Look up the writings of Tertullian.
Ah yes..typical reply of your kind. Pick and choose a passage here and there but stopping short of the ENTIRE message Jesus Christ was giving. Eph 5 in it's entirety is giving instructions to BOTH men and women to love each other! Yes we submit to our husbands just as our husbands honor and respect us. When there is mutual love, respect and honor in a marriage divorce is nonexistant. I have been married to my husband for 33 years and am extremely happy with him.
It's so obvious you are very naive about the history of your religion. Christianity has a long history of repressing woman and their rights. You need to do more research instead of your usual weak "out of context" argument for defending bible contradictions and troublesome bible verses. Even Jesus was disrespect to his own mother. I suppose you missed that verse too eh? Do you ever read your bible?
Jesus was never disrespectful of His mother in my church's bible. His respectful words towards her were as different from the way you talk now as your slang is different from your grandparents slang words. He was NEVER disrespectful
Women have the best lives where Christianity is strongest; the stronger that influence, the better their lives, the weaker the worse. Christianity liberated women.
This is just more obvious proof you haven't read your bible very closely. Jesus was disrespectful towards his mommy. He was also a little spoiled brat when he was a kid. His parents should have grounded him for a week.
nogogma, you ended your mini-rant above with "So quite your whining fundy. "
So typical of you atheist's. You never fail to show your ignorance and immaturity, You misspelled quit.
Why is it that you never can seem to have a conversation without name calling or swearing? However, it really does give an accurate portrayal of your social status.
Since you're not spending your time reading the Bible...may I suggest you practice your spelling or take a self improvement course. :-)
Like most atheists, the issue of people believing in God bothers you greatly nogogma. What is it about atheists that you would spend so much time, attention, and energy refuting something that you don't believe even exists?! What causes you to do that?
I think you still have doubts there is no God. If you can conclusively prove to believers that we are wrong, then the issue is off the table, and you will be free to believe with all your heart there is no God.
We could present facts right before your very eyes and people like you will continue to believe because of that virus your mind has been infected with. The faith virus. Doubt in the mind of the believer can be very scary because of the one single escape clause in the bible about the unpardonable sin of blasphemy against the holy spook. Once you doubt you call God a liar. I'm sure you have doubted too. See you in hell .
You ignored my question. Again...I ask why do you spend so much time, attention, and energy refuting something that you don't believe even exists?! What causes you to do that? Again I say, I think you have doubts there is no God.
No I really didn't ignore it. I answered it in my last comment where I start off about too much god in America. Read the rest of that comment. It's because of that that I feel it is important for atheists to never stop challenging superstition. If we atheists don't challenge religious beliefs, superstition and idiotic beliefs such as Christianity will win by default. America needs to get back to thinking as opposed to believing in ridiculous ideas based on blind assertions, blind faith.
If you doubt the holy spook for even one second you have committed the unpardonable sin of blasphemy. See you in hell Christian. You need to read that bible verse a little closer. You're not going to heaven. You're going to hell with all of us infidels. I'll keep a six pack on hand for you on your arrival to meet Satan.
You mean you're a Christian and you don't know? Look in the book of Mark . Damn and i'm an atheist telling a fundamentalist Xtian where to look in the bible? Paleeezzze !
like most theists the issue of people not beleiving in a god bothers you greatly. what is it about theists that would make so much time, attention, and enrgy refuting something that you believe exists?! What causes you to do that?
i still think you have doubts that there is a god.If you can conclusively prove to nonbelievers that we are wrong, then the issue is off the table, and you will be free to believe with all your heart there is a God.
nikt374 I find it amusing that your belief there is no God is so weak you have to parrot our words. Can't you come up with your own ideas? Obviously not.
i was parroting your words on purpose to show how meaningless they are...it is ok. i did not expect you to figure it out. it takes some intellect which you seam to not have.
That's the problem. We have to much God in our country. We have God in our Pledge, God on our money, we have churches in every community, a politician cannot get elected unless he or she believes in God, so why don't all you fundamentalist Born-Again Christians quit bitching and complaining so much and realize that we already have to much God in our country and shut the fuck up and get over it already !
You have only pointed out part of the story. You have ignored completely Madisons insistance upon the seperation of church and state. Have you even read his famous letter to Edward Livingston? Have you read Thomas Paines "Age of Reason". To pick and choose selectively to push your agenda is just as bad as an outright lie, because that is exactly what it is. Shame on you.
gumpy, you're doing what you condemn in your post ... picking and choosing selectively to push your own view. There is no 'separation of church and state' in the Constitution and the overwhelming majority of founding fathers understood the importance of having the moral precepts of Christianity being embraced by the people of this country. Shame on you for denying what the founding fathers established in the Constitution and their thoughts on religion in general and Christianity in particular.
No, I am not "picking and choosing" as you suggest. The founders did believe Christianity and RELIGION important to the nation. That is true. But they DELIBERATELY took all mention of God out of the Constitution. They clearly established a secular state because of the enormous mistakes of Europe (now largely forgotten by Americans).
Did you read madisons letter to Edward Livingston? Madison WROTE the constitution.
I have read the letter to Livingston. A man's relationship with God is a very personal thing and cannot be coerced. There was no need to mention God in the Constitutuion when key Biblical principles of liberty and justice were written into it. The founding fathers (largely), including Madison, understood the importance of having a right relatiohship with God and having His commandments written upon the hearts of men. The FF opposed a theocracy and rightly protected the freedom of religion.
However today, there is a systematic effort being made to crush freedom of religion and eliminate any mention of God in the public forum. Generations are being raised largely ignorant of His commandments and truths and our society is rotting as a result. For example the economic fiasco we are seeing today is directly related to having abandoned God's teachings on work and the handling of money. We desperately need to restore God to His rightful place in society if this nation is to survive.
Good Job!!!

say what you willl about the founding fathers, i'll let them say it for themselves.
"Religions are all alike - founded upon fables and mythologies." - Thomas Jefferson
"In no instance have . . . the churches been guardians of the liberties of the people." - James Madison
" The divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity." - John Adams
"Lighthouses are more helpful than churches." - Benjamin Franklin
treaty of tripoli art. 11. was drafted by George Washington.

"As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion"-Treaty of Tripoli 1797

Filthy fucking LIES.
Jesus would be so ashamed.

gumpy, you're doing what you condemn in your post ... picking and choosing selectively to push your own view.

Please. . . do your homework.

We sure do need God again.
I made a video on this too.
View it, if you like.
