apes are the shit! i put in many 7-8 hour riding days in and have no complaints. unlike lower handles, wide apes open up your chest and straighten your back...makes for a great way to ride long hours.

I wouldn't ride anything but apes. My last bike (FXD) I put over 160,000 miles on in just over 5 years with 16" apes. I know have a road glide with 16" apes and love it more. The key is not getting to high of apes, not over your shoulder.
It is harder to move slow, or walk the bike around with apes, but I would rather ride fas.
@bozo47p Takes a little getting used to. This Road King is a carb model and I installed a real deal cruise control made by Harley. So on long trips I could set the cruise and drop an arm or two to give them some rest. If you have a FI model you just have to use the throttle locker.... I frickin love these apes...and any bike I ever get I will consider doing the same to it.
I had actually changed mine for a short time to beach bars. They gave me serious cramps in my top middle back muscles.... wasn't too long and I had put the apes back on. Once you get used to them they're efn fantastic.

so serious question, what happens when you come to a corner. do you have to stop and push the bike to the next strait stretch? Ape hangers seem like a fast way to ruin a bike. all show and no go.
@krs171990 Have you tried it .Its actually pretty easy .I have had west coasters, drag bars ,standard stock and I like the apes highway cruising you cant beat em .But thats just me I am a big guy and I am more comfortable with em

I went to the drugstore and bought one of those blue rubber ear syringes. I fill it up with warm water and then fire it up my chute after my movement. I hold it for a few seconds and then blast the water out of my arse and into the toilet. Bam! Instant clean bunghole! And I always feel like a million bucks afterward!

I am hopefully getting a Harley in the next year or two. I can picture the bike and its a road king with ape hangers on it. I was wondering though, I have never riden a bike with them on. Are they harder to ride with, and what about long hauls. Thanks
