its a different sound for every album. But its all still OLP. its refreshing to hear a band be able to change its style so much and still be as magnetic as the original sound! :D
why do u people care that they keep changing their sound, their lyrics will always send a message that people can relate to and theyre successful because of it so let them do their thing and keep making great music and we'll keep listening and feeling
in my opinion this is a great song and a great album at that i dont even think they sold out...gravity was a sell out album but this album is unique and almost all the songs are good there old shit "was" better but they diffinitly did not sell out
good old Our Lady Peace, they are just as great as they were back in 1997, every song is awesome, will always respect these guys, they have always had their own original sound, keep the awesome hits coming!!!
I've been an OLP fan for 15 years, and when I first heard this song I swear to God I had absolutely no idea it was them! Their music has changed so much, they sound so mainstream now. I want the old OLP back!
they fell out out of the spotlight rather sson. I remeber songs like Innocent and Somwhere Out There. This album has some good songs equal to those, but since the music industry is so full of crap now adays, No one notices.
All You Did Was Save Me Life, Dreamland, and Paper Moon are my fav. songs on this album. Fuck they all are. Can't single out any Our Lady Peace songs. there all so good. XD
it all depends on when you started listening to them...it's like if you read a book before seeing hte movie, you probably will like the book better. if you listened to their later stuff and fell in love with that first, you're less likely to really fall in love with their early stuff
why do people hate it so much? it's not like Gravity (which was good for a mainstream album, but it wasn't OLP)...HIPT has the bit of mainstream i like, almost the same creativity & meaning...AND, something better than Burn Burn (although it's prob the only reason), Raine has that awesome paranoid-falsetto
@kennygmang It was an okay album but I felt it was lacking in contrast to most OLP songs. It just felt like their old stuff only watered down. Probably just not my tastes.
this album is great. i have been a fan of OLP since ,gosh 97, and they just keep making great music. i saw them in NOLA this past weekend and it was amazing.
I have to say that I have been a big OLP fan since the begining and I have to say they really have came along way as such a great band they are! I live in Denver CO , US and have only been fortunate to see this band one time about 5 years ago at RED ROCKS. They only crappy thing about it was they only played for like 30 minutes or so because KID ROCK n NICKELBACK were there as well!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
this song reminds me of tripping really hard on mushrooms. best times of my life. shrooms are the shit, for those who havent tried, try. expand ur mind. faggots.
I couldn't agree more, this is my favorite song off the new album. Lots are saying it's not the "old OLP", but I think that's ok. Yes, I loved their old stuff, Clumsy, Automatic Flowers, 4am. But this new stuff is awesome too. I'm happy they're making music just the way they want to.
This is no doubt my favorite tune on "Burn Burn." I like OLP's new stuff. I especially like that Raine did all of the producing for this album instead of Bob Rock. I thought "Healthy In Paranoid Times" was overdone. This is excellent!
as long as it's still raine and the band working on their albums and giving us their awesome lyrics, it doesnt really matter if it's old OLP or not. it's STILL OLP.
Well in my opinion, a band has to "grow up" and try new things in it's career. You don't want 10 albums of the same stuff. This new OLP is just as good as their old music, just different. Their songs still have meaning and that's what's important. Raine doesn't sing the same as in Clumsy or Superman's dead but he's still a great artist. I mean, if you want to listen to music that came out in the 1990's, well just do that, but don't expect them to redo 100000 songs that are exactlly the same.
@R3dBull20 Yes......but go back and listen to Happiness is not a fish you can catch...........then compare that album to Spiritual Machines and Gravity........and it just does not compare - Happiness is not a fish - is by far their best album and they really do need to try and make an album as good as that again. It seems like such a waste this band goes from being so different to pretty much obscurity ten years on......and since then what have they done that has come close to then.
@kennygmang I agree with you that he didn't mention some of their best work, but I agree with him that Happiness was my favorite of their albums. Don't disregard Naveed and Gravity either, those are both amazing albums. The only album I don't like all the songs off of is HIPT, because they got too close to what's on the radio. Glad to see they turned it around a bit with Burn Burn
@kennygmang Lol, kinda funny how we agree about everything except with HIPT and happiness. Personally I LOVE waited and Happiness and the fish. HIPT is the only album that I can say that I don't like listening to from front to back. I mean, I love certain songs off of it, like "Will the Future Blame Us" and "Wipe that smile off your face" etc, but for the most part it just kinda irritates me.
@R3dBull20 I'm sorry I voted down here, but I meant to vote up! Well said!! I actually wish I read this comment when Metallica sold out back in the day! Thanks for the attitude adjustment!
@R3dBull20 I understand where you are coming from on this, but i think what they are putting out is to them, their "sound" not to contradict you but, as you say it is getting old, thats just you in some cases, to me i love this sound and i cant stop loving it, i dont want you to think im trashing your opinion, im just stating that its not as much the dominant opinion for this bands fan base, O.L.P for life!
@R3dBull20 Look at all these bandwagoners trash talking OLP cause they think it makes them look like individuals. If they were fans in the first place they would recognize, right on the spot, that their lyrical talent hasn't changed a bit. It's still rich, it's still gold. Isn't that what makes a band? The ideas and emotions put out in words? Fucking kids these days.

The ideas and emotions put out in words? Dumb kids
@R3dBull20 If that's true then how do bands like Tool and Rush not change their sound over decades and still remain 2 of the biggest bands in the world? Our Lady Peace sold out when they hired Bob Rock as producer and I suspect that's why Mike Turner left. He didn't want to make the garbage pop rock crap that Bob Rock has pushed on everyone has worked with.
@R3dBull20 Grow up? This is grown up? It's generic pop music of today, go listen to songs like Naveed-had a social conscious, The Birdman-again social conscious, but also complexity and a unique sound, go listen to Denied-that solo alone qualifies it for some complex hard rock.
They just sold out over the years. Go back and listen to some of their old stuff. Innocent-as much as I liked the song, i sounded like anything from its day.
@Sshelly34213 believe it or not they are the ones who started this sound there wasn't a band before them that had one like there's i respect your opinion, I'm just saying before them there was not a sound like this
@timeforzone I beg to disagree, there were bands before this like Jawbox who had a very similar sound, The early 90s had a lot of underground rock like this. I feel like they were just going with the flow. They went from a very Seattle-like heavy rock sound to a more alternative sound, to a pop punk sound, to this...
They keep changing their sound over the years, why? I still think their first album was their best and most complex.
i need an album from them which is like supermans dead. now that was great. these new songs are alright but not enough old OLP. only song here thats like the old is AYDWSML first single. that was similar to their older/better songs
@ipwnwontons I disagree, AYDWSML was the most radio friendly compressed song they had on that album. I think The Right Stuff and Monkey Brains were more old OLP. And you want an album that's like a song?
this album was not near as good as it should have been OLP is way better then this.. there next album should be back to raines voice like it was in the first albums
Thanks Slack for putting all of the songs from their new album on here, I can't currently buy which almost caused a panic attack knowing they had a new album coming out :-) You made my day! I agree, it's not old OLP, but Raine's voice still is amazing and I can't wait to see them live this Monday!
anywhere CD's are sold but if you want a deal look for it on ebay. They have ones listed every day starting at 99 cents! The deluxe edition is harder to find in stores so just buy it from Amazon.
Holy crap, there's a DVD to go with it? I saw it, and the Chris Daughtry CD when I was out with my friends on the weekend, and I picked up the Chris one for my Mom... I love OLP, not liking the new Daughtry to be honest. I like him, just the one song tho. Anyway, nice song!
One of my favorites.. as are all the songs lol on this album. They were solid. Much better then healthy in paranoid times.. This was the improvment we wanted
unfortunately they don't even know OLP here in portugal they won't putt the album for sale here i'm gonna purchase the deluxe edition online but it takes too long i can't wait one week or more to hear the album so i'm going to download it and then wait for it
You know I've been downloading these songs, but I think I would much rather have the CD. Not that OLP needs my money, but it's that good, that on my way to work I think I'll pick it up.
I like the fact that they're back to more of a guitar-featured stlye...Steve is really showcased differently in almost every song on the album. Also Duncan "Bass Genius" Coutts definalely plays more of a main role in the melodies with dominating, intricate bass runs and riffs especially in this song... We haven't heard him play the bass like this since Happiness and Spiritual Machines.... Great stuff.... Both are incredibly talented, and Duncan complements Steve and makes for great rock!
at the 2:20 mark...Exactly what I'm talking about.Steve takes a solo, and Duncan complements him by going on a sick run up and down the bass just like he used to in Happiness. Reminds me of Happiness.
nobody cant hate olp

Well in my opinion, a band has to "grow up" and try new things in it's career. You don't want 10 albums of the same stuff. This new OLP is just as good as their old music, just different. Their songs still have meaning and that's what's important. Raine doesn't sing the same as in Clumsy or Superman's dead but he's still a great artist. I mean, if you want to listen to music that came out in the 1990's, well just do that, but don't expect them to redo 100000 songs that are exactlly the same.

Thanks Slack for putting all of the songs from their new album on here, I can't currently buy which almost caused a panic attack knowing they had a new album coming out :-) You made my day! I agree, it's not old OLP, but Raine's voice still is amazing and I can't wait to see them live this Monday!

Hey, I am obsessed with OLP and have ALL their songs on my ipod.. but I don't have this CD and I really want it for my car, where can I buy the CD?

anywhere CD's are sold but if you want a deal look for it on ebay.

You know I've been downloading these songs, but I think I would much rather have the CD. Not that OLP needs my money, but it's that good, that on my way to work I think I'll pick it up.

Hey slacktoo, why did you remove some of the new songs?
GreasyItalianStalion 2 years ago
A source close to OLP asked him to remove them until after Burn, Burn is released.

This is my favorite song on Burn Burn... hands down. I love the buildup before the chorus.
